Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Maneuvering (1)_1
Four days later, Jing Haohao successfully boarded a plane to Yunnan.
It was on the very night that she deceived Liang Chen, while having dinner with Shen Liangnian, that Jing Haohao told Shen Liangnian about her plans to film in Yunnan.
In fact, over a year ago, when Shen Liangnian’s company’s profits began to rise sharply, he had suggested to Jing Haohao that she leave the entertainnt industry.
At that ti, Shen Liangnian, though unable to provide Jing Haohao with an extravagant life of upper-class wife, was sufficient for her to live comfortably.
It’s a common sight amongst n – they allow their mistresses to gain fa and beco everyone’s dream lover, yet they do not enjoy watching their own wives show off their beauty on the big screen.
At that point, Jing Haohao, just having experienced a seven-month ban, coincidentally ran into Fang Lu and accepted several acting roles in succession, thus never fully exiting the entertainnt industry.
Ti passed and with her twentieth birthday nearing, Jing Haohao had promised Shen Liangnian that she’d stop all work in the entertainnt industry, to marry him properly. But the day after her birthday, she inford him that she was obliged to go to Yunnan to film with the crew for Fang Lu’s sake, thus causing Shen Liangnian to be slightly upset.
Jing Haohao knew that they had both planned to get married during this period. Her decision to dodge Liang Chen and go solo to Yunnan, leaving Shen Liangnian behind, was understandably frustrating for him. Thus, she softened her tone and promised Shen Liangnian that this would be her last act in the film industry, and, albeit reluctantly, Shen Liangnian agreed to let Jing Haohao go to Yunnan.
Since she ca of age, eighty percent of Jing Haohao’s ti was spent in the entertainnt industry. Despite its many unpleasant aspects, it had beco a part of her life. Yet, it couldn’t compare to the place Shen Liangnian held in her heart, and so, at this mont, Jing Haohao was genuinely willing to give up her way of life for Shen Liangnian.
On the day Jing Haohao flew to Yunnan, Shen Liangnian had multiple matters to attend to in his company, and couldn’t see her off.
After Jing Haohao had gone through the security checks and boarded the plane, with twenty minutes left before takeoff, she picked up her phone and made a call to Liang Chen.
…
Liang Chen was in a eting at that ti. When his phone started vibrating in his pocket, he paused for a mont, then continued conducting the eting as he casually retrieved his phone from his pocket with a calm deanor.
Just as he was about to hang up, he glanced at the caller ID, saw it was “Haohao,” and hesitated slightly. Then he gestured to his executives to wait as he walked out of the eting room with his phone.
Across the eting room was a wall made entirely of glass. Standing in front of it, Liang Chen could see the cheerful, chaotic sunlight outside the window. He slightly lowered his head, watching the vehicles whizzing past beneath him like ants, and then asked Jing Haohao in the phone, “What’s up Haohao?”
“I’m heading to Yunnan today.”
The woman on the phone simply spoke a few words, her voice soft like glutinous rice, sweet and silky.
