Suddenly, the door to the President’s office was pulled open from the inside.
Upon hearing the sound, Miss Su lifted her head and saw Liang Chen standing in the doorway, still in yesterday’s shirt and exuding a sleepiness that gave him a sowhat unkempt appearance.
Miss Su was so shocked that she stood there, staring and speechless as if she had seen a ghost.
After a full minute, she suddenly stood up and stuttered out, “Mr…Mr. Liang.”
Liang Chen seed to be still sowhat bewildered, feeling as if his mind was heavy and confused, causing his thoughts to slow down. He frowned and casually asked, “What ti is it now?”
“Five zero seven.”
Liang Chen looked around, finally fixed his gaze on the large red digital wall clock, reading seventeen oh eight, and his frown deepened, “In the afternoon?”
“Yes, Mr. Liang.”
At the bottom of Liang Chen’s heart, a shock occurred: how long had he slept? But his face revealed nothing as he asked, “Where is Haohao?”
“Isn’t Miss Jing with you?”
Hearing this, Liang Chen’s heart skipped a beat, and without a word, he returned to his office and took a careful look around every room. When he found no trace of Jing Haohao, he picked up his phone, which was out of battery, and headed to his desk. He took out another phone and dialed Jing Haohao’s number.
However, an automated voice responded, “Sorry, the number you have dialed is turned off.”
An undefinable chill crept up his spine, and he quickly redialed for the villa.
The call was answered by Nanny Lin, who he asked, “Is Miss Jing at ho?”
Nanny Lin seed puzzled and asked, “Isn’t Miss Jing with you?”
She sounded just like Miss Su.
Liang Chen instantly had a bad feeling in his heart.
Nanny Lin didn’t wait for Liang Chen to speak before adding, “Mr. Chen, is sothing wrong? Is Miss Jing not with you right now?”
Without a word, Liang Chen hung up the phone. Putting down his mobile, he picked up the office desk phone and dialed the internal line for the Security departnt, “Help
retrieve the company’s surveillance footage for the past twenty-four hours, I’m coming to take a look now.”
Liang Chen abruptly put down his phone and rushed to the Security departnt.
By the ti he arrived, the security departnt had already pulled up all the surveillance footage. A wall-sized screen displayed dozens of small windows.
Liang Chen attentively stared at those windows until he saw Jing Haohao leaving his office. He imdiately raised his hand and said, “Tell
what ti it is here.”
The security departnt quickly clicked a few buttons on their computer and responded, “Ten zero four in the evening.”
Did Jing Haohao leave last night?
Liang Chen’s face instantly darkened. Without saying a word, he left the security departnt and returned to his office.
Grabbing his car keys, he was heading out when he bumped into the director of the marketing departnt and the planning departnt manager.
“Mr. Liang, when you have ti, we should reschedule our eting with the client originally planned for today.”
Liang Chen had an unsettling intuition about what was going on, but he didn’t want to face it. Unsettled and aggravated, he snapped at hearing this, “Can’t you handle such minor issues on your own? Why do you need my input for every little thing, am I paying you to do nothing?”
