Liang Chen moistened his lips, stood up, and walked over to pick up an ointnt. He squeezed out so more and applied it to Jing Haohao’s wrist.
Jing Haohao subconsciously wanted to pull away, but she was exhausted and could hardly gather the strength to do so. In the end, she barely moved as she allowed Liang Chen to apply the ointnt.
The ointnt was chilly, spreading down her swollen and hot wrist to the bottom of her heart, making her feel incredibly cold.
After applying the dication, Liang Chen tried to lift Jing Haohao onto the bed. But she struggled to sit up and spoke in a hoarse voice, “I want to take a shower.”
“Rest for a while before you go.”
“I want to take a shower.”
Jing Haohao repeated herself, sounding like a broken record.
Liang Chen hesitated for a mont before letting go of her arm. Without any hesitation, Jing Haohao turned and limped towards the bathroom.
Water could be heard running in the bathroom for a long ti, but Jing Haohao didn’t co out. Realizing that a considerable amount of ti had passed, Liang Chen couldn’t help but walk over to the bathroom door and knock, “Haohao?”
Still, there was the sound of running water, and there was no response from Jing Haohao.
An inexplicable nervousness surged inside Liang Chen. He knocked on the door even harder this ti, “Haohao? Are you finished?”
Still, there was no response from Jing Haohao, and the water continued to run.
For so reason, a bad premonition crept up in Liang Chen’s heart. Instinctively, he went to open the door, only to find out that it hadn’t been locked.
Damp mist filled the bathroom, making visibility poor.
Without hesitating, Liang Chen rushed in and saw Jing Haohao sitting in the bathtub, letting the shower spray on her while squeezing handfuls of shower gel onto herself.
The shower gel created a lot of foam in the bathtub, which could accommodate three or four people. The entire tub was filled with white foam and Jing Haohao, oblivious to Liang Chen’s presence, rubbed herself vigorously. Her fair skin was flushed, either from the hot water or her vigorous rubbing.
Liang Chen frowned, stepped forward, and lifted Jing Haohao out of the bathtub. Angrily trembling, he ranted, “You just love making a big deal out of nothing, don’t you? When does it end?”
As he spoke, he pushed her into the shower, turned on the water, and rinsed her with the showerhead. He then noticed her wrinkled skin, a result of soaking in the water for too long. He quickly rinsed the shower gel off her then grabbed a towel to dry her off. He lifted her out of the bathroom and from the dressing room fetched a nightgown and underwear for her to put on.
Jing Haohao didn’t resist, simply allowing him to do these things.
As Liang Chen helped Jing Haohao get dressed, he grumbled, “You just love creating trouble for , don’t you? Is this what you call a shower? Look at your skin, it’s all wrinkled from the water. You just keep pushing yourself, you…”
Jing Haohao looked up, cut him off, her voice barely audible, saying, “Even with all this, I still don’t feel clean.”
