Subconsciously, Liang Chen glanced at the ti. It was already past nine o’clock, but Jing Haohao hadn’t returned ho yet?
As he asked Nanny Lin about what she knew, he hung up the phone.
He put on his coat, grabbed his car keys, went downstairs directly, and prepared to pick soone up from the suburbs.
Just as he stepped out of the elevator, he heard a commotion at the lobby on the first floor.
“Sorry, miss. You cannot enter.”
“We’re really sorry,
but without the CEO’s order, you can’t go to see him.”
“What’s going on?” Liang Chen took a step forward to find out.
“Mr. Liang.”
The three receptionists looked at Liang Chen and imdiately greeted him respectfully. Then one of them pointed at the woman in front and said, “Mr. Liang, this lady wants to see you.”
Liang Chen turned his head and saw Qiao Wennuan, and his brows furrowed: “What are you doing here?”
Qiao Wennuan’s complexion was shaky, her eyes seed sowhat at a loss, as if she was frightened. Seeing Liang Chen, she didn’t care that there were so many people around, she said straightforwardly, “Mr. Liang, I have so private matters to discuss with you.”
“Private Matters?” If it weren’t for Jing Haohao, Liang Chen wouldn’t rember who Qiao Wennuan was in his entire life, he had no good feelings towards her. Hearing this, he imdiately sneered and said, “Miss Qiao, you really have a knack for joking. I don’t rember being familiar with you to the extent of discussing private matters.”
If it were soone else, they would’ve retreated at the ntion of Liang Chen’s tone. But Qiao Wennuan didn’t back down at all, she stood her ground, looking at Liang Chen’s eyes and said regardless of consequences:”I guarantee you’ll be absolutely interested in what I have to tell you.”
“As long as it is sothing coming out of your mouth, I’m not interested.” Liang Chen swept a glance at Qiao Wennuan, unkindly, then turned to the receptionist and said, “Please escort Miss Qiao out.”
Having said that, he headed for the exit of the company’s building.
Qiao Wennuan subconsciously wanted to chase after Liang Chen, but was stopped by the receptionist, “Miss, please leave.”
Qiao Wennuan watched Liang Chen’s retreating figure, in her desperation she blurted out, “What if the matter I wanted to discuss was about Jing Haohao? Aren’t you curious? Don’t you want to know where she is right now? Who she’s with?”
Qiao Wennuan’s words stopped Liang Chen in his tracks.
Standing with his back to Qiao Wennuan, he paused for a mont before he turned around and signaled to the receptionist. He pointed to a eting room on the first floor, then said to Qiao Wennuan, “Follow .”
Then, Liang Chen imdiately proceeded to the eting room, not caring whether Qiao Wennuan could keep up with his pace.
Once inside the eting room, without asking Qiao Wennuan to sit down, he asked her directly with a rather cold face, “Where is Jing Haohao now?”
“So, you’re also looking for Jing Haohao. I knew it…” Qiao Wennuan sneered mockingly, the corners of her eyes turning moist, “I knew it was like this…”
Liang Chen, however, didn’t have the patience to listen to Qiao Wennuan’s nonsense. He asked sowhat anxiously, “You just said Jing Haohao’s with soone, who? Shen Liangnian?”
“Why bother asking
when Mr. Liang can guess everything?” Qiao Wennuan backed against the wall of the eting room, unable to muster the strength and tears fell down her face. It was as though she had encountered sothing extrely heart-breaking and hopeless.
