Chapter 226: Chapter 227: Selfie (2)_1

After Liang Chen gave Jing Haohao a bath, Nanny Lin hurriedly handed over a large bath towel. Liang Chen took it, wrapped it around Jing Haohao’s body, picked her up and walked towards the door, telling Nanny Lin who was following him, “Go downstairs and fetch a cooked egg.”

Upon receiving the command, Nanny Lin hurriedly acknowledged and went downstairs. By the ti she returned with the cooked egg, she hadn’t entered the bedroom yet when she heard the sound of the wind blowing from the hairdryer. Nanny Lin stood at the door and saw Liang Chen holding Jing Haohao in one arm and drying her hair with the other.

Nanny Lin could only see one side of Liang Chen’s face. His expression hadn’t improved and he looked unhappy. But the hand that was stroking the girl’s long hair was very gentle, careful as if he was afraid of accidentally hurting her.

Nanny Lin stood at the doorway without interrupting. She waited until Liang Chen turned off the hairdryer before quietly entering the bedroom and addressing him, “Mr. Chen.”

Liang Chen didn’t utter a word but took the egg from Nanny Lin and gently rolled it on the side of Jing Haohao’s face that had been hit.

“Who on earth did this, being so heavy-handed? Look at the swelling on her face. Miss Jing has a shoot tomorrow. If the swelling doesn’t subside, how is she supposed to film?” Nanny Lin said, looking pained.

Liang Chen frowned at the five-finger bruise on Jing Haohao’s face and his tone beca increasingly angry, “She asked for it. Why did she go to a bar and drink so much for no reason?”

Saying this, an urge to kill rose up within Liang Chen. He handed the egg to Nanny Lin and said, “Keep an eye on her. I need to go out for a bit.”

After saying that, Liang Chen walked over to a table, grabbed a set of car keys and exited the bedroom.

His clothes had been soaked through when he was bathing Jing Haohao. Out of worry that she might catch a cold, he was preoccupied with drying her hair and forgot to change his clothes. Once he stepped outside, he felt the winter wind blow and realized he was still wearing wet clothes.

Liang Chen hesitated for a mont before heading straight to the garage to get his car and drive to the Liang Family Old Mansion.

His mother used to be a once high-profile star in the entertainnt industry. Back in the day when she used to film action movies, she frequently had bumps and bruises which took a long ti to heal. His grandfather happened to know a doctor who had a family secret — a special ointnt that treated bruises. It took effect quickly and any marks would be gone within a night. After his mother retired from the entertainnt industry, the use of this ointnt beca less frequent. However, before the doctor passed away, he did give his grandfather a few boxes. Over the years, they’ve been gradually used up with only one left. If it hadn’t been for Nanny Lin ntioning that Jing Haohao had to film tomorrow, he wouldn’t have thought of it.

Liang Chen slowly parked his car outside the entrance of the Liang Family Old Mansion. He honked the horn, and a man ca out of a room near the door. Recognizing the car as Liang Chen’s, he quickly opened the door.

“Mr. Chen, you’ve arrived?”

Liang Chen responded, “Uncle Wang,” and without stopping, drove into the courtyard.

Before Liang Chen’s car ca to a halt, the old housekeeper received a phone call from Wang and ca out of the house.

The old housekeeper used to be his nanny and had cared for him since he was a child, treating him like her own son. Upon seeing him, she joyfully grabbed his hand and said, “Young master, why have you co so late? You should have called

beforehand so I could prepare so late-night snacks that you love. Are you hungry? Just say what you want to eat now, and I’ll whip it up for you.”
