A hint of joy flashed through Qiao Wennuan’s eyes. The next second, she saw Shen Liangnian stand up, walk to the French window, light a cigarette, and inhale it with a sowhat weary look.

Just as Qiao Wennuan was about to reply, she heard Shen Liangnian murmuring under his breath, “Haohao!”

Then Shen Liangnian abruptly threw away his cigarette, turned around, and ran toward the door.

Qiao Wennuan’s heart instantly tightened. She hurriedly interrupted Yang Chen on the phone, saying, “Mr. Yang, I have a bit of an ergency, I’ll call you back to personally apologize later, I must go now, bye!”

Once in the parking lot, Shen Liangnian spent a long ti searching around only to see one empty car after another, with no sign of Jing Haohao.

Just as Shen Liangnian had swept over all the cars, Qiao Wennuan, panting heavily, arrived at the parking lot. Her fair and tender face was covered in sweat, she looked at Shen Liangnian who was anxiously looking here and there, and said, “Liangnian, what are you looking for?”

“Haohao… I think I saw Haohao from upstairs just now, soone dragged her into a car…” As Shen Liangnian spoke, he raised his head and looked at the window of the room where he had been standing on the second floor. He then evaluated the spot where he had seen Jing Haohao from, and walked over to it only to find it empty, the car was already gone.

“Liangnian, you might be mistaken.” Qiao Wennuan followed Shen Liangnian, watching him pacing around the vacant area. A surge of jealousy welled up in her heart as she softly said, “Liangnian, you may have mistaken soone else for Haohao because you miss her so much…”

“Is that so?” Shen Liangnian looked up at Qiao Wennuan with imnse disappointnt, his eyes reddened. The light in his eyes that had brightened at the sight of “Haohao” was now completely dimd. He pulled a faint smile, not saying anything more, only dragging his sowhat heavy steps and heading back to Golden Years.
