“Liting… what’s wrong?”
The stalemate between the three of them was eventually broken by Shen Weiwei. Right at once, she imdiately released her hand that was intimately wrapped around Gu Shaoyu’s arm. She wasn’t sure how to react and hesitantly looked at Lu Liting. The depths of her eyes concealed her uneasiness and nervousness. “Don’t misunderstand, we were only filming for the program…”
Traces of rumors that Shen Weiwei had a boyfriend floated around on the first day Shen Weiwei attended the program. However, celebrities in the entertainnt industry guarded their non-entertainnt industry partners very tightly and would instantly deny those groundless rumors. But now, after hearing Shen Weiwei’s words, the caraman following them more or less understood the situation in front of him.
Perhaps the person in front of him was truly her boyfriend, or else she wouldn’t have said those words.
Her fake boyfriend in the program and her real-life actual boyfriend bumped into each other – this was definitely big news!
The caraman following them got fired up with enthusiasm. As he prepared to aim the cara lens at the three of them, a production crew ca over and whispered sothing to his ears. After hearing that, the caraman seed to realize sothing. He glanced at Lu Lixing and proceeded to sheepishly turn off his cara.
Now that Lu Liting has appeared here, no matter how you put it, he’s still a mber of the Lu family. If one’s own family mber acted out of line they would be scolded and punished in private. But to get jealous over a woman in public; if this spreads out, everyone would make fun of them and it’ll tarnish the Lu family’s na.
The production crew and store staff that were surrounding them left the VIP area in tacit agreent. Now, the only ones remaining in the VIP area were just the five of them.
Lu Liting still had so reason left in him. He looked at the caraman that was following them and forcefully suppressed the fury in his heart. “Let’s talk in private.”
However, Gu Shaoyu swiftly stepped in and stopped the two of them. He was extrely displeased with Shen Weiwei’s actions. “Weiwei, we’re still in the middle of filming and the caraman is here too. After the program finishes, you guys can talk it out, okay?”
Shen Weiwei pleaded softly, “Shaoyu, you’re being…”
“Yeah, what about it? Weiwei, right now we’re filming the program and it’s being live-stread. And as for you, Lu Liting,” he directed his gaze at Lu Liting and continued, “I’m aware of Shen Weiwei’s relationship with you. But we’re currently in the middle of filming the program. I believe Shen Weiwei has already inford you about everything before the program started. If you didn’t approve of it, I’m sure she wouldn’t have agreed to participate in this program. Since you’ve agreed to it, then as a man, shouldn’t you be more understanding and supportive of your girlfriend?”
“But I never knew that Shen Weiwei’s partner was you!” He glared at Gu Shaoyu with fiery anger raging in the depths of his eyes. “Gu Shaoyu, you’re aware of my relationship with Shen Weiwei, and yet you keep contacting her ti and ti again. Do you think I’m unaware of what is on your mind? And you too, Weiwei, do you really not know what kind of feelings Gu Shaoyu has towards you?
“I…” Shen Weiwei’s expression was hesitant. “Liting, I am really sorry about this matter. I wanted to tell you about it previously, but I didn’t know how to break the news to you…”
“Alright, Weiwei, you don’t have to explain.” Gu Shaoyu pulled Shen Weiwei behind him. “Lu Liting, I’ll be blunt, since you can’t give Weiwei the future she wishes for, then don’t stand in her way any longer. She’s a celebrity without any background. She loves acting and she loves being on the stage. Those places are her goals and dreams. But you? Your family owns an entertainnt company and has imnse *resources to support her and yet you don’t give her any opportunity. How long do you intend to let her suffer?”
*T/N: Resources mainly refer to projects with a good production team, or a solid cast, or leading roles. So companies have better resources over others.
“Gu Shaoyu, shut up!”
“Lu Liting, don’t go around lecturing . Since you can’t give Weiwei everything she wants, then I’ll give it to her. You’re alright with watching Weiwei suffer, but I’m not!”
Shen Weiwei stood behind Gu Shaoyu. Her face looked troubled and worried, but in her heart, she was secretly thinking about her current situation.
Ever since she finished filming and ca back from the filming city, up till now, her company had been seemingly neglecting her. The new manager that took over had limited resources and didn’t focus on her at all. For more than a month there were no promotional events and resources for her. And from the looks of it, the viralness that she had just sparked was about to die down soon. She didn’t have any follow-up resources and it won’t be long before she totally disappears from the face of the entire entertainnt industry.
She thought that Lu Liting’s past words were just for show and that when he sees her fall into a difficult situation, he wouldn’t just watch on and leave her in the lurch. But she never imagined that Lu Liting would actually be this cruel; apart from words of comfort, he never gave her a single bit of resources at all.
