The sky was already bright when Ji Qingqing woke up in the morning.

Opening her eyes, her bedside was empty just as usual.

Ji Qingqing closed her eyes again and sluggishly reached for her phone at the upper corner of the bed. She pressed the ho button and took a glimpse of the ti. It was exactly 8 o’clock.

She was on a leave yesterday due to health reasons, which was reasonable, but if she continued to be absent today although she recovered, she may delay the filming progress and that wouldn’t be right.

She sent a WeChat ssage to Wen Rou to ask where she was, and soon enough, Wen Rou responded through a voice ssage.

“Sister Qingqing, President Lu has requested leave for you this morning. You should get a good rest.”

Lu Lixing requested a leave for her?

She already recovered from her fever for a pretty long ti. What’s the point of a leave? Wouldn’t that be adding more trouble?

As she pressed down the voice chat icon to talk, she felt a faint pain in her throat.

Ji Qingqing let out a deep breath and swore “bastard” internally, then sent Wen Rou a WeChat ssage to ask her to bring the makeup artist over.

A crack in the door appeared and was soon widened by a tiny furry head. A white Samoyed entered the room while wagging its tail. It started to sniff around the bed with its head up.

“Si Si, that bastard finally decided to bring you back?”

Ji Qingqing stroked Si Si’s furry head and in return, Si Si rubbed on her palm obediently and circled around the spot. It gently wagged its tail at Ji Qingqing, as if it agreed with her.

Aww, how obedient.

Watching the smiling Si Si, Ji Qingqing’s gloomy mood from last night had more or less faded away.

Ji Qingqing played with Si Si for a little while. Then she got out of the bed and drank a cup of warm water, which made her throat feel a little better.

Hearing her movents, Lu Lixing walked out from his study.

“You…”

He only managed to utter a single word before getting attacked by a piercing glare from Ji Qingqing. Her glare succeeded in making him freeze montarily.

“… Why don’t you get so more sleep?”

Ji Qingqing already spoke a lot last night. Today she did not want to talk to Lu Lixing at all.

Last night was a lifelong disgrace. The sha was enough to be nailed on the Pole of Sha!

She sighed. When will Lu Lixing leave? When will his vacation be over?

Remaining in the hotel for the entire day, does he not want his job anymore?

“Woof woof woof —” Si Si barked at Lu Lixing relentlessly.

Ji Qingqing praised Si Si’s obedience while stroking its head.

Lu Lixing stared at her silently for a mont and walked towards her side. Placing his hands on her forehead, he felt her temperature briefly. After confirming that Ji Qingqing’s fever was completely gone, he poured a cup of warm water and placed it right next to her hands before entering the study. Throughout the whole process, he didn’t really say anything.

Not long after, Wen Rou arrived with the makeup artist.

If Wen Rou didn’t check on Ji Qingqing, she wouldn’t have known. But once she did, Wen Rou jumped in shock.

Sitting in front of the makeup mirror, Ji Qingqing appeared to be lacking vitality. It was impossible to tell if it was due to the after-effects of the fever or for so other reason; her complexion looked even worse compared to the past two days. Even dark circles could be seen around her eyes.

“Sister Qingqing, President Lu said that you’re still recovering from your cold and wanted you to have a good rest in the hotel.”

Wen Rou did not dare to decide on her own accord as Lu Lixing had already given his orders. Furthermore, Ji Qiingqing’s complexion looked really unwell to her.

“I already recovered yesterday, and it was only a minor cold. There’s no need to take two days off. It will cause too much trouble. Stop nagging. Help put on makeup and let’s get to the filming site.”
