The following day, after all of the knights had woken up and gotten ready, lina and I took down the small rooms we had created and kept making our way with the 7th order.

During that ti, the commander kept ignoring and not directing a single word to . Nevertheless, I was pretty glad that she stopped annoying for the ti being.

We were only half a day away from Port Town Blue, but one of the knights said that they had received a report saying that the city’s outskirts were plagued with monsters and to be prepared for anything.

The man that spoke to the group was the sub-commander of the 7th order, who reminded of Harvey a little since he didn’t treat us weirdly just for being from a faraway place.

A few hours of walking later, one of the knights were sent to the front with his horse to check ahead, but I told him to go back as my group could get there faster.

"Huh? Don’t think you can order my knights around!" yelled the commander, waving her fist like an angry old woman.

However, I could barely hear her since we were already soaring in the sky and flying towards the town to check for any inconveniences.

A few minutes later, we spotted a battle happening right outside the town gates, and I could clearly see a giant monster that seed to have his body on fire.

("Is that another frog?") I thought as I could discern so of its features.

Using more air magic to accelerate, we quickly began to get closer to the monster until we were able to inspect it.

The blood frogs that we fought earlier were following this massive thing that was engaged in battle with a group of guards and adventurers.

Thankfully, the area was an open field, so the monster’s body heat couldn’t burn anything besides a few trees and the grass surrounding it.

So of the mages that fought against the flaming frog were using water and ice spells, but they proved ineffective as all they did was raise a curtain of steam when their projectiles hit the monster’s body.

I was sure everyone knew what to do with a monster of this type, so while still floating in the air, Vespera, lina, and I cast ice magic to freeze the surroundings around the frog until its fla flickered—creating a small blizzard around the frog.

Yoru appeared from my shadow, and the two of us crashed down from the sky on top of the monster.

I hit it with my bo as hard as I possibly could while Yoru’s claws sliced through its body.

In a desperate attempt, the monster pulled his long tongue and flailed it around as it caught on fire once again, but a torrent of high-pressured water was shot straight at its open mouth.

From the sky, Vespera and lina were using powerful water magic to restrain the frog’s attack, and just as they stopped simultaneously, Yoru jumped back into the action and sliced the monster’s tongue with his claws.

With just one attack from being over, I created a massive ice nail behind the size of a car and shot it straight through the frog’s body.

The battle was over, and once again, we distributed potions to the injured.

A mont later, the knight’s 7th order arrived and gazed at the scene before inquiring the city guards what had happened.

lina and I approached her and told her that they were fighting the flaming frog until we arrived, pointing at the monster’s carcass, which the adventurers were hauling into the city.

However, the commander still looked disgruntled.

("Why is she mad when we saved all these people?") I thought.

The woman was indeed getting on my nerves, and I couldn’t contain myself anymore.

"Oh man, I wonder what would have happened if we hadn’t arrived quickly. Plenty of people would have died!" I said with a mocking tone.

"To think that if they had waited for the knights, they would have all perished..." I continued, still with a sarcastic tone.

Truthfully, I was never petty enough to reduce myself to soone else’s level, but this woman was just being plain rude. At least Thomas just stayed silent whenever I did sothing good.

The commander frowned and turned to tell her knights to go into the city, completely ignoring my comnt. However, I could see that so of the knights got hurt by it.

("Well, my intention was to offend the commander, but whatever...")

lina looked at with a disapproving stare, but I did not regret making fun of them.

Besides, these guys used to bully the knights that resided in End Town, so this was payback for my buddies back ho. If you asked , I would say it was a pretty light punishnt.

After the monster carcass was cleaned up, we all finally entered Port Town Blue.

Crossing the gates, lina talked to the commander of the knights and told her that we would be going to the adventurers guild while the knights went to the barracks of the city.

She agreed, and we split ways from them.

On our way to the guild, the princess explained that Port Town Blue was the area that the knight’s 2nd order was supposed to protect.

However, because there had been so many attacks and so few resources in the past weeks, they had lost too much manpower.

That’s why the king sent the 7th order to lend their aid, who were usually stationed in the borders of the kingdom.

"Commander Valentina is not a bad person... She is just, ummm, prideful?" said lina.

"That’s a weird pride she has, then..." I responded.

While we walked through the city, we noticed that the people looked extrely sad, which was expected considering their situation where they couldn’t get any resources from land or sea.

It felt like a sha since the city was so beautiful, and the sea looked amazing on the horizon.

lina put on the hood of her poncho to keep a low profile since lots of people in the kingdom knew her, and I did the sa out of solidarity.

When we got to the guild, we noticed that only a few parties were there hanging out, and they also looked out of shape.

We approached the clerk behind the desk and showed them our cards, telling them that we were there to help with the sea monster problem. However, as soon as the words ca out of the princess’s mouth, a group of adventurers began laughing.

"So you kids ca to take care of the sea monster, huh?" said one of them as he approached us.

"Yeah, and?" I said, sharpening my gaze as the guy felt sowhat threatening.

"And? Do you even know what’s out there, kid?" he said with an annoying tone.

"An S-ranked monster?" I asked.

The man started laughing uncontrollably. "Yes, yes. An S-ranked monster. So what made you think that we could use your help!?"

I sighed and looked back at the clerk. "So, anyways, about the monster... We wanted to see if there was an official request."

Before we registered, any ti we heard about a monster attack, we simply went out to hunt it down.

However, as adventurers, if we managed to grab a request and then hunt said monster, we could go up in adventurer rank and also make so money. Not that I needed it, though.

"Well..." the clerk spoke.

"The request is from the city’s duke..." she said as she pulled out a piece of parchnt with the noted request.

The man, noticing that even the clerk ignored him, got closer to and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Hey, kid. Are you not listening!?" he said with a threatening tone.

I turned my head slowly with a cold stare. "Get lost..." I muttered.

But he didn’t leave. Instead, the man threw a punch at . However, it was so slow that it almost felt like he was attacking in slow motion.

I avoided his fist, grabbed his arm, and threw him a few ters away out the guild’s door, hearing his body rolling on the ground outside.

The rest of his party stood up and went to fetch him, so I turned to the clerk again to get more details on the monster.

Acting like nothing happened, the clerk told us that the monster was called a "Kraken."

Before she could even describe it to us, I already had an idea of what type of monster it was. And sure enough, it was a giant monster with dozens of tentacles, but it wasn’t sothing they could classify as an octopus or a squid.
