A few weeks had passed since the battle with the black dragon serpent, and winter had reached our town.
This ti, however, would be the first ti that the princess experienced it in our town.
A few years ago, when I first arrived in End Town and helped rebuild the entire place, I set heating enchantnts in all of the villager’s houses to keep them warm throughout the winter.
However, now those heating enchantnts were placed all over town, aning that even in the cold winter, people could leave their houses with lighter clothes and feel like it was another day of spring.
Even the rchants’ carriages were given these enchantnts. That way, they could keep their trading routes with End Town comfortably.
During that ti, we tried to keep the sa routine we’ve had for the past seasons. However, I couldn’t train with the knights as much as I would have wanted to since we had to go hunting frequently.
Plenty of monsters hibernated in the winter while others were more active, and the adventurers guild wasn’t receiving many newcors.
It was easy to leave from End Town to another city in a magically insulated carriage, but it was the complete opposite for anyone coming our way with their own carts, even worse if they walked.
With the lack of new adventurers coming to town for the season, the responsibility for hunting any wild monster mainly fell on us. Of course, there were other adventurers who had been there for a while, but the more workforce, the better.
At this point, Reinar was able to go into the forest on his own to look for ingredients, as his fear of the place didn’t exist anymore.
In fact, he only grew more excited at the idea of going out into the forest to look for ingredients now that it was winter, and the possibility of finding new herbs took away all of his worries.
To be fair, it probably also had to do with the fact that Reinar was getting stronger too. In terms of magic, at least.
His body was still that of an average boy, but his magic prowess had increased dramatically, which I felt proud about since part of it was thanks to my workout routine.
It was during that season that he found new alchemy ingredients. One was a strange red pinecone at the top of very tall trees, and the other a soft, blue mineral crystal that he got from a cave a few hours away from the tree house.
With those materials, he holed himself up in the workshop for days until he ca out with two new potions that he had created himself.
These potions ended up becoming popular with the adventurers, especially during winter, as they could go out hunting with an Ice-Fire potion and feel their bodies warm throughout the entire hunt.
The Hi-Sense potion was also extrely popular, mostly with adventurers scouts that went out to look for strange monsters.
With these potions, they could see much farther and clearer, hear sounds from hundreds of ters away, identify slls, follow their trail, and feel the earth’s vibrations.
When he ca out of the workshop with the new potions for the first ti, he looked thrilled and exhausted. However, it had been a while since I inspected him, and he had brewed so many of them that I wanted to confirm my suspicions.
"Reinar... You did it!" I exclaid.
He knew exactly what I ant and checked his titles, making him jump with joy as he held two potion vials in his hands.
His MP had grown by a large margin, going from 7,000 to 10,000.
I knew that his skill allowed him to grow his magical power at a faster rate, but the boy was really shattering all my expectations since the mont he arrived.
Eventually, we started making tons of his new potions to export to other cities, hoping that more people would be willing to visit our town if they could survive the cold way thanks to them.
The knights had also grown way stronger than before. They were pretty much unrecognizable from when I first t them, as the diet and routine worked wonders.
Seeing them working out at the gym reminded of the classic buffed guys from my old world that would spot each other’s weights and support their friends when they were lifting. These guys were not that different.
Considering they were sowhat addicted to working out, I felt glad that steroids didn’t exist in this world, or I could have seen so of them going that route.
During this season, the knights took their training in the forest a few days a week.
Thanks to Reinar’s potions, they were able to go out in the cold wearing their usual armor and train for a few hours before returning to the barracks.
The princess’s 15th birthday also took place during the winter, and I asked the maids to help with her gift since I wanted to make a cake for her.
I had so flour that we imported, eggs, milk, and of course, our staple chocolate.
It took quite a few tries to get it right, but I eventually managed to get the asurents right with the help of the maids.
Honestly, it wasn’t the best chocolate cake, but it was the first, so I supposed that people would like it as they had never tried other chocolate cakes either way.
We spent the celebration in town since pretty much everyone in the village wanted to congratulate the princess, and it ended up becoming an entire town’s festival.
("The villagers really like their celebrations... Can’t bla though, they lived here in fear and silence for so long...") I thought as the people danced around the plaza to the music of the bard kids.
Luckily, the maids had deduced that this would happen and baked three more chocolate cakes to share with the people.
Obviously, it still wasn’t enough to feed every villager, but we gave them the recipe to try to make it themselves, and the festival was filled with more food and desserts anyway.
When we returned ho, the princess inspected herself in the living room, saying she wanted to see if she had grown after her birthday.
("What the-...") I thought before the princess exclaid in surprise.
"I got a new skill, my MP grew a little, and I got a new title!" she said, jumping with joy around the living room.
The fencing skill seed to have developed during her training with the knights, as she used a small sword every ti she sparred with them and sotis used it against monsters.
However, I never expected her to develop a close combat skill from that training, but it’s not like it was a bad thing.
The title given to her spoke about hunting and butchering hundreds of monsters, which is sothing that I believed I had done too.
So now I was curious to see my own information, as I barely ever inspected myself while the princess did almost every day to look at her progress.
She turned her head and stared at with puppy eyes until I opened my "inspect" window too.
("What the hell is all this?") I thought as I stared at my information.
"When the hell did I turn 15!?" I exclaid.
I realized that not checking my information for months wasn’t the best idea, as I didn’t know the exact day of my birthday.
("Was it during last season, or was it this winter?")
The princess pouted, asking how I could not tell them about my birthday.
"I didn’t know either!" I yelled.
My skills seed the sa as before.
My MP had grown by a lot too. In fact, I rembered the princess used to have a little more than , but now I was just a little ahead of her.
As for the titles, I also got the "master hunter" title, but I noticed another one right at the end.
I gained the title thanks to the princess becoming a master hunter and Reinar becoming a master alchemist.
I was a little upset that I missed my birthday and still didn’t know when it was exactly, but on the bright side, we were both 15 and could register as adventurers. Although, we wanted to wait for the winter to pass first.
