The following day, we all woke up early in the morning to resu our walk to the peak of the mountain.
Vespera said she was going to keep watch during the night, but when we walked out of the shack, we saw her sleeping beside the bears, using their red fur as a pillow.
I found the scene pretty funny, so I quickly made a picture of it on a piece of fabric using magic before they got up.
After walking along the mountain range for a few hours, we reached a second plateau, which had a massive hot spring on the side with steaming hot water and MP oozing from it.
The momma bear told us that those were the "hot water puddles" that she talked about, which would improve a person’s MP pool by bathing in it.
"Huh, interesting..." I muttered after inspecting the water.
The bear explained everything a bit more in detail, which was translated by Vespera, who was the one communicating with the momma bear.
Each hot spring pool would give us an MP boost, but they only worked once. So, if we ca here a month later and bathed in the sa place, it wouldn’t have any effect on us other than the healing properties.
*ahem* "Alright, then. I suppose we should take a quick bath before we keep moving..." I said, feeling a little embarrassed.
Still, when I turned to look at lina, she was already taking off her clothes while standing on the border of the pool.
"Co on, we can’t wait here for too long," she said, covering her breasts with her arm as she tested the water’s temperature with the tip of her foot.
"Blah, bleh, bluh..." I uttered an unintelligible ss as my mind went completely blank after seeing her naked.
’I’ve seen my wife naked plenty of tis. Get it together, man!’ I thought, using both of my hands to slap myself back to reality.
I could literally feel my cheeks getting red like a tomato, but still, I took off my clothes and got inside the water with lina, which felt quite relaxing.
With both of our bodies sunk into the steaming water, lina and I looked at each other, and we both blushed like we were so sort of teenagers in their first relationship.
Luckily, my companions also wanted to bathe in the hot spring, so a naked Vespera joined us a few seconds later. Still, even though Vespera was extrely attractive, she didn’t give the sa embarrassing feeling as lina did.
Yoru also joined us in his wolf form, along with the momma bear and her cub, who had already taken a bath there but just wanted to accompany us.
After half an hour, I could feel the MP that coursed through my body had gone up by a very small margin, which signaled the end of our bath.
Once we dried up and put on our clothes, we kept moving towards the peak.
The momma bear told us there were three more hot spring pools on the way before reaching the end, so we decided to get to all of them on that sa day.
We ran for a while until we reached the second hot spring, where we took another thirty-minute bath before we kept moving.
In the end, it took us an entire day to get to all of the hot spring pools, setting foot on the last plateau before the peak right as nightti fell upon us.
Since we were going to be camping in that final flat area, we built a quick shack using the warm rock of the mountain and prepared so food for everyone.
"You know? I was thinking we should give the bears a na..." I said as we all enjoyed our dinner.
"That might start a familiar contract with them. Just keep that in mind," replied Vespera.
However, I had already thought about that, and I didn’t really mind if the bears beca my familiars.
I an, it would be harder to travel with a massive bear and her cub, but they had been so helpful that I believed I could find a way.
"Hmmm, maybe we should go with the nas of mythological gods..." I pondered aloud.
"How about Athena?" I asked, glancing at the momma bear, who looked at with confusion as she moved her head laterally from side to side.
"Ohh, I like that! And we could na the little one Apollo!" lina interjected, patting the bear cub on the head.
Suddenly, the two bears roared loudly as their bodies were covered in a gentle mist before dispersing into thin air.
"Welp, you both got a new familiar..." comnted Vespera.
"Wait, we both did?" I asked out loud, using my "inspect" spell on the two bears.
The two bears ended up accepting us, but I honestly wasn’t expecting lina to also make a contract with one of them.
’I guess it makes sense since she was the one who nad him...’ I thought.
We spent the night celebrating the addition of two new companions. I even brought out a few bottles of sake that I bought at Kyotora, which left and lina quite tipsy.
After we were done with our celebratory dinner, lina and I stood up to take a bath in the final hot spring.
"Alright. I think it’s ti for us to give those two so space..." said Vespera as lina and I took off our clothes.
"Wha-?" I tried asking, but when I turned around, all of my companions had left the camp.
I couldn’t even feel their presence nearby, and as I kept scanning around, my eyes glanced at lina’s naked body entering the water, and suddenly, I had forgotten about my companions.
Seeing that it was only the two of us in the steaming hot spring under the sky lit up by the stars, lina and I made love for the first ti in this new world before we returned to our shack to rest.
