After Ichiro and lina were separated to fight Sinoc and Vyrazul respectively, the princess was using all of the spells she had at her disposal.
lina was quick enough to protect herself against Vyrazul’s claws with her estoc and even countered several tis with wind slices. However, the devil was just as fast as her.
Their attacks were so powerful that the palace’s roof was slowly crumbling around them, but lina knew that she needed more power in order to beat the devil.
’I need to awaken... I have to!’ she thought as she kept attacking Vyrazul.
"Why go this far? Don’t you possess your own kingdom already?" the devil asked after deflecting one of lina’s stabs.
"We are not here to conquer this place..." lina replied, breathing sowhat heavily.
"Ha! Is that right!? So, you are here to free the slaves, huh!? Do you expect to believe that!?" Vyrazul exclaid.
"Humans are selfish creatures like us. You wouldn’t believe how easy it was to take control of the emperor. Don’t you see? All it took was one beautiful woman for him to forget about his family and nation!" the devil continued.
Her words were making lina even angrier than she already was, but she knew that they held a bit of truth in them.
One of the main reasons for Guanghua to have fallen so low was due to the emperor cheating on his wife, whom he didn’t even visit when he heard she had gotten sick.
"Co on, princess. Join , and we will take over the world," Vyrazul said, extending her arm to shake lina’s hand.
The princess had a somber expression and took a step forward as if she were going to shake the devil’s hand but stopped herself a few feet away from her.
"It is true that humans can be selfish and evil. Still, I choose to believe in them than the bitch who hurt my little sister..." lina muttered.
Just as she finished her sentence, she waved her arm to the side and produced an arc of light magic that hit Vyrazul’s chest and face, sending her flying back to another roof.
lina could feel her body getting hot from the MP that was coursing inside her, and when she looked at her hands, she noticed they seed a bit fuzzy.
The princess’ body was trying to awaken, and while it hadn’t reached the point of a "full awakening," she was slowly getting there.
When Ichiro taught lina about the awakening, he explained that there were two types, which he called the "soft awakening" and "full awakening."
The soft awakening was whenever the body was close to reaching its maximum potential, which would give them a boost in speed and power.
The full awakening was when their bodies "fused" with the magic they were using, giving them an ethereal and almost godlike appearance, along with a massive boost to their speed and power.
’Soft awakening... I’m close...’ lina thought.
Still in her soft wind-awakened state, she launched herself toward Vyrazul’s location and created a massive hole in the roof as soon as she landed. Nonetheless, the devil managed to get out of the way.
When lina gazed back at the devil, she noticed that she wasn’t hiding her horns and tail anymore.
The princess knew that devils had different transformations. One that made them look like humans, another one that made them look like half-demons, and their true forms, which were always beings that seed to co out of nightmares.
If a devil wanted to use their full powers against soone, they needed to shift to their true forms.
However, Vyrazul was only in her half-demon transformation, so lina knew that she still had a lot more power saved up.
"You dare to reject ?!" the devil shouted, frustrated.
lina didn’t reply. Instead, they both started attacking each other without stopping, the wake of their attacks raising the roof tiles around them and generating gusts of wind that could knock anyone off their feet.
Suddenly, Vyrazul’s demonic energy rose exponentially, giving her a speed boost that caught lina off guard and got a hold of her left arm.
As the devil dug her nails into her skin, she charged a shadow orb in her free hand and struck lina in the gut, making her cough so blood before getting pushed against a wall.
The force was so strong that lina couldn’t cast any protection spells in ti, hitting the back of her head against the wall and making her eyes roll back as the stone bricks fell on top of her.
’What happened...?’ lina thought as she scanned the utterly dark place she found herself in.
’Did I die?’ she pondered, but her thoughts were cut off by a sharp and sudden headache that plagued her.
The princess held her head with both of her hands and kneeled in the empty space, but when she removed the cover from her eyes, she found herself sowhere completely different.
It looked like a modern apartnt that lina had never seen before, and two individuals were carrying boxes inside.
"Ichi, can you bring the kitchen box?" a woman with light brown hair asked.
"Yup, I got it here!" a dark-haired man replied as he carried the box to the empty kitchen, giving the woman a peck on the lips before he kept moving boxes around.
’This is...’ lina thought as she stared at the scene.
She had seen that man before in her dreams. The sa man with a scar on his cheek that reached the side of his lip and always smiled brightly at her.
Then, the scene changed, and she was standing on a beautiful beach where she saw the sa two individuals leisurely lying on the sand.
"Alright, Ichi, you were right. The Caribbean Sea was a good choice for this sumr..." said the brown-haired woman.
"Heh, right? It’s completely different from the beach we visited in Northern Spain," the man replied.
’She keeps calling him Ichi...’ lina thought, followed by another sharp headache and a change of scene.
’Are these... mories?’ she pondered as she struggled with the pain, feeling like an entire life’s worth of experiences were flooding into her head at the sa ti.
