After we found the poor servant, Lania, in the palace’s attic, I asked lina to teleport her to the Bao’s residence.
The woman had been imprisoned for a few years in a dark and damp space, where she read every single book about dicine she could find to save her empress.
However, her fate was even more cruel than that, as it was obvious that none of those books would have the answer to save her.
Before lina teleported her out of there, we asked her to tell us where the entrance to the dungeon was. Nonetheless, she said it was on the opposite side of where we were located.
Once we sent the woman to safety, we drank a little more of the invisibility potion and made our way out from where we ca in.
We even locked the window behind us with the chain so that they wouldn’t know we used it to get in.
When we reached the other side of the palace from the rooftop, we deduced that the dungeon was underground.
Using our "search" spell wouldn’t show a group of people that weren’t guards, so the room was probably sealed with Sinoc’s magic, the one he used on the Zhao’s residence to block our magic.
Still, when we got ready to go down from the roof and enter the palace, we suddenly felt a huge surge of energy coming our way.
Not even five seconds later, a man with short white hair stood behind us. However, thanks to the potion, he couldn’t see us.
’Sinoc!’ I thought, seeing that the man was the sa that I saw in Leslie’s mories.
Arriving at the rooftop right after him, three hooded figures wearing red robes jumped on top.
"Hmm, I can still faintly sense it..." Sinoc said.
*sniff, sniff* "It does sll like magic around here..." a hooded figure responded.
"Could they be inside the palace?" another robed man asked.
"Nah, the sll is very strong out here..."
I couldn’t detail the faces of the three figures wearing the red robes, but I assud that they were the Scarlet Trio.
Strangely, the man who was sniffing had a strange aura around him that I had felt before.
’Is he an Accursed Beast...?’ I wondered, noticing his energy was similar to Salamandra’s.
"Split up, check every nook and cranny..." said Sinoc, and as the four of them dispersed from our sight, I grabbed lina’s hand and teleported us to the Bao’s mansion.
We were still invisible, but staying there was too risky. However, now that we knew that the four empress’ dogs were at the palace, we had an opening to get the old man from the Yushan family.
"They got there so fast..." lina comnted.
"Yeah, they probably reacted to your teleportation magic and rushed to the palace..." I said.
"Hmmm, we could use their reaction speed to our advantage," lina continued.
"I was thinking the sa thing..."
Knowing that we could take them away from their guarding positions with one spell was definitely an advantage. However, one of us would have to be the decoy, which would be , of course, as I wouldn’t let lina be the bait.
Since we couldn’t use our invisibility potions for that night, we decided to wait 24 hours to put the plan in motion.
The following morning, Lord Bao went to work as usual and noticed that the guards that were placed by the empress outside his ho were gone.
They were there with the pretense that they were guarding them from the people attacking Guanghua, but in reality, they were there to watch the Bao family.
Still, after the events of the previous night, it seed like the empress didn’t suspect them anymore and ordered the soldiers to move sowhere else.
We spent the entire day playing and hanging out with Leslie and Yujun, trying to keep our minds busy as we were feeling sowhat anxious.
It was possible that, after that night, we wouldn’t be able to hang out with them like this, so we were making the best of our ti together.
When Lord Bao returned hours later, he told us that the empress looked quite unhappy that day after the disappearance of her prisoner in the attic.
"Yes, Lania. We freed her yesterday..." I said.
lina teleported the woman to the Bao’s residence, and not even twenty seconds later, she was already being sent to Yuandu, so the couple never got to see her.
Still, Lord Bao was in shock as he recognized the na.
"You an to tell that Lania was alive!?" he asked.
"I thought you knew..." I replied.
The chief told that while he knew about the prisoners in the dungeon and the one they held in the attic, he didn’t know any of their identities.
The only one he knew about was the first prince since he was imprisoned right in front of him.
"Alright, this is going to sound pretty crazy, but she told us that Empress Chunhua was also alive," I said to the couple, who almost fainted with shock.
For whatever reason, Empress Yulian had told everybody that Chunhua died from an illness. Lord Bao always believed that she was poisoned by the devil, but he wasn’t aware that she was still alive.
I didn’t know why, but there must have been a reason for the devil to keep the forr empress alive.
Knowing that this night could turn into a ss, I asked Yoru to accompany from my shadow and Vespera to stay at the mansion on high alert.
"Vesp, if you feel the slightest threat coming this way, I want you to get everyone in this residence to Yuandu..." I said.
"What if they refuse?" she asked.
"Then you put them to sleep and take them anyway," I replied.
The plan was simple but risky. I would go to the palace and create a small commotion, which would catch the attention of the Scarlet Trio and Sinoc.
lina would wait in the air while invisible for them to leave their posts and then kidnap the old man Yushan from his mansion.
Everything until that point sounded good, but I still had to think of a way to escape from the four monsters that would co after .
