After exchanging more information with Lord and Lady Bao, we told them to keep treating the two kids as they were before so that nobody would suspect them.

I knew that they trusted their servants and vice versa, but we couldn’t be too risky, considering we were in a devil’s domain.

I just didn’t want them to go around calling Yujun "my prince" or sothing, as it would just put him in a lot of danger. Of course, they agreed.

I told Lord Bao to act naturally at the palace and keep doing his usual job. Even if he heard there was a commotion caused by us, I wanted him to keep acting the part.

My main reason was that I didn’t want to put the Bao family and their servants in danger, and even if the man brought a whole squadron of soldiers with him, it wouldn’t matter against lina and .

When he asked us what our plans were, our only response was. "Free the slaves and kill the devil, of course."

If we killed Vyrazul first, that would lead to the freedom of everyone. However, that would also an a large-scale battle against her and her army in one place.

But, if we started attacking different areas of the city and freeing commoners in the outskirts, then her forces would have to split into different districts, giving us more space to act.

I also asked Lord Bao about the Scarlet Trio and the mage called Sinoc, and his face changed from hopeful to somber in an instant.

I had heard the na when we were eavesdropping on the nobles’ eting at Xiulan, where one of them voiced out the idea of asking the emperor to send the Scarlet Trio for help.

Bao told us that the trio were brought in by the empress’ herself. It was right after the emperor declared that he wanted to give his new wife a trusted group of soldiers to protect her.

Nonetheless, she was steps ahead of the emperor and had chosen the four people who would serve under her.

There was a bit of friction at first when a few nobles disagreed with the empress’ choosing, as the four of them were wholly unknown to the governnt officials, and they thought it would be safer for her if trusted noble soldiers escorted her.

Still, the empress didn’t want to negotiate her decision and threatened anyone against it, closing the matter and naming the Scarlet Trio and Sinoc as her personal guards.

"To be honest, I’ve never seen them in action, but their presence is enough for to tell how dangerous they are..." said Lord Bao.

From what he said, the empress ignored the plea of the nobles in Xiulan and ordered her personal guards to look after the families of the people we kidnapped.

’I see. This devil is definitely more cunning than the others...’ I thought.

"So, I’m guessing they are also guarding the Yushan mansion?" I asked.

Lord Bao nodded. "She sent Sinoc to look after Lord Yushan..."

"Hmm, that could be a problem..." I said out loud as I held my chin.

We wanted to take Lord Yushan with us so that the nobles’ main food supplier would be gone, putting pressure on them to confront the rulers of the nation.

However, Vyrazul could tell what our plans were and had already set up arrangents against us.

I felt a bit glad that we didn’t decide to take the Yushan mansion, or we would have blown our cover on our very first day and put the two kids in danger. Still, now that we knew their positions, we could use that to our advantage.

Our talk with the Bao couple lasted a few hours, but once we were all satisfied with the information we received, we decided to get so rest.

lina and I took the two children to the guest room where we were all staying and rembered that there was only one bed, although it was at least big enough to hold the four of us.

That night, we slept pretty peacefully, considering our circumstances, with the two kids between lina and and our arms embracing them.

The following morning, I opened my eyes and found little Yujun staring at while slightly squinting his eyes.

Leslie and lina were still asleep, and when I turned slightly to look at them, I saw a small scar on the back of Leslie’s neck that looked like a whiplash.

lina ntioned how the girl was riddled with scars all over her body, and while Yujun also had quite a few, Leslie had dozens more.

"Morning, Yujun..." I said to the little man, who nodded silently in acknowledgnt.

Leslie and lina grumbled in their sleep as the two asked for five more minutes almost simultaneously, making snicker as I thought they were quite similar.

I took Yujun to the side of the room where we had a couch and a coffee table and pulled out so breakfast from my void pocket for the two of us.

It was mostly fruit and so bread, but the kid seed to enjoy it, so I didn’t feel too bad about not giving him a more proper al.

"Hey, Yujun. Do you rember what happened before you t Leslie?" I asked casually.

"Mhmm..." he nodded in affirmation.

"So, you know who you are?" I asked again, keeping a casual tone so the kid wouldn’t think I was trying to scold him.

"Mhm..." Yujun nodded again.

"What about Leslie? Do you know who she is?"

"Uh, uh..." he shook his head, denying knowing her identity.

"I see. But you trust her, right?" I kept asking.

However, that last question made Yujun gaze at with a bit of confidence.

"Hmm!" he groaned as he nodded fervently.

Even though he didn’t say a single word, it felt like I just had the nicest conversation with him.

Yujun knew that he was the second prince of Guanghua, but his inability to speak was probably the one thing that kept him safe all this ti.

A few minutes later, lina and Leslie woke up, and the little girl rushed to the couch where I was sitting, giving a curious stare.

"Big brother, your na is Ichiro, right!?" she exclaid.

I almost did a spit-take of my tea, asking her to lower her voice as we needed to keep my na a secret, and Leslie, noticing her mistake, widened her eyes and covered her mouth with fear.

"Oh, sorry. I didn’t an to scare you. But yes, that’s ..." I replied.

At that mont, I didn’t know why, but the girl let out a bright smile and jumped with joy around the room.

"It’s him, it’s him. The red man was right!" she said joyfully.

’The red man?’
