In the center of the burnt ground patch, my companions and I stood beside Yoru, facing the attacker.

The man was tall, with dark green long hair and yellow eyes with sharp pupils like a beast.

His pants and jacket seed to be made of snakeskin, and he walked barefoot on the burning ground.

"Careful, get out of there!" Darfin exclaid from the backlines.

However, my entire group was present against the monster, so I was feeling pretty confident that we could defeat it.

Besides, even if I told my group to retreat, I knew that Yoru wouldn’t listen as he was too entranced in his rage.

I used that mont that we had in front of the monster to use my "Inspect" spell and get so more information about who the hell we were fighting. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to be so strong.

’His na is Satan? So, I guess Drakzen nad him...’ I thought.

It was strange seeing the na of a devil that was technically from my world. I an, there wasn’t any concrete proof back in my old world that demons existed, but the nas were still passed down through generations.

"Careful, he can secrete poison..." I muttered to my group as I kept reading the inspection information.

I already suspected Drakzen of creating this monster, and the "inspect" spell confird my suspicions.

"My, how unsightly. I never thought I would get to see another of your kind in my lifeti..." said Vespera, her words directed at Salamandra.

The monster, who was still in his human form with a serious expression, switched to a wicked smile and glanced at my companion.

"And why would the Queen Demon Spider be here? This isn’t your territory. I can do what I want!" he exclaid.

Vespera chuckled mockingly. "A filthy Accursed Beast dares to tell what I can and can’t do? Give a break, lizard. You lost your chance to bargain the mont you struck a deal with the devils..."

I already knew that Legendary Beasts absolutely hated the Accursed Beasts since they were basically the complete opposites of them, and Vespera wasn’t holding back her tongue.

"Hey, Salamandra..." I called out.

"My na... is... Satan!" he shouted, generating a torrent of fire from both of his palms and shooting it to the sides.

Ignoring his tantrum, I continued speaking. "Did you chase a pack of moonwolves in this forest about six years ago?"

Salamandra, calming down from his frenzy, glanced at Yoru, who kept growling and staring at him with eyes full of rage.

"I see. You are that cub..." he muttered.

’So he does recognize Yoru. It’s confird then...’ I thought.

"That’s right. I hunted down most of the moonwolves in this forest!" Salamandra shouted, letting out a maniacal laugh.

"In the na of my master, Drakzen, I was able to evolve thanks to my efforts of hunting for years!" he continued.

Yoru’s growls only grew louder the more the monster spoke to us, and honestly, I was fed up with it, too.

"Enough..." I muttered, instantly appearing next to Salamandra with Yoru.

As my companion clawed one of his arms, I used my bo to hit him in the face and knocked him to the side.

Salamandra rolled on the ground and quickly stood back up, pointing his palms towards us and creating a fire cyclone. Nonetheless, his attack was cut short when Vespera kicked him in the face.

"Don’t let him breathe!" I exclaid.

It was our usual strategy of attacking one after another, keeping Salamandra from casting any spells or thinking about how to escape.

lina crashed down on him at lightning speed and avoided his fiery palm, getting a follow-up attack by Nessa, who punched Salamandra in the gut and knocked the air out of him.

Gina appeared next to Salamandra and was attacked by another fire cyclone. However, she used her mithril daggers to slice through the magic fire and stabbed him in the arm.

Carli wasn’t falling behind, as she relished that opportunity to stab him in the back with her spear.

In a fit of rage and desperation, the monster covered himself in a do of flas, making pull out my mithril dagger in order to counter it.

However, he switched from using MP to using demonic energy, making our anti-magic mithril useless against his attacks.

Vespera had explained this to us before. Since the devils created Accursed Beasts, they had to be periodically infused with demonic energy until they evolved.

This ssed with the MP inside their bodies and allowed them to use both types of energy when casting spells. Nonetheless, his demonic energy output wasn’t even close to matching that of a real devil.

As Salamandra kept his fire do active, lina cast a spell and summoned a giant water ball that suspended in the air for a few seconds, gathering power, then dumped it on top of the monster.

The reaction wasn’t what I expected. As the fire do and the water ball crashed, a huge cloud of vapor rose from the point of impact, making our battlefield quite hazy.

Suddenly, I felt goosebumps running down my spine, and an eerie and uncomfortable feeling crept up on .

’A devil is here!’ I thought.

Using air magic to disperse the smoke and regain vision of our surroundings quickly, I looked around and found that Salamandra was already gone.

"Did you guys feel that?" lina asked.

"I guess Drakzen was getting his pet out of trouble..." Vespera replied.

Nessa looked the most frightened out of everyone in the group, which was understandable but also kind of strange.

I an, she was a devil herself, so I could understand her being afraid of so of her kind, but I thought she would at least be used to sensing demonic energy at this point.

While lina grabbed Nessa’s shoulders and cald her down, I turned back to look at the elves that were still hiding.

"Everyone okay there!?" I shouted to the trees, knowing that they were watching.
