We spent our last day in Kyotora building a small ho for ourselves, where we could place the teleport crystal for the ti being.
I thought we would give it to the palace at so point in the future to improve their trade relationship with Sephyr, but it wasn’t the ti for that yet.
Until the king got his stuff figured out, I wouldn’t allow Sephyr to deal with corrupted nations.
All of the students were sightseeing and touring the capital, even Nessa, who seed to have a weakness for sweet things and stopped at almost every dessert stand.
At one point, lina and I halted the secret devil.
"Hey, Nessa, what are you going to do after this?" I asked.
"Hmm, I suppose I’ll keep traveling and raising my adventurer rank..." she said, unsure about her answer.
"Why don’t you co with us?" lina interjected, making Nessa widen her eyes in surprise.
"Huh? ? Are you serious?" the pink-haired girl asked in disbelief.
"Who else?" lina said, letting out a playful chuckle.
Nessa was hesitant and stamred her words nervously, but lina clasped her shaky hands with confidence.
"It must be hard being alone all the ti... Not even Jackson did that, you know?" lina whispered to her in a gentle and soft tone.
Nessa’s eyes watered, and after lina gave her a hug, the poor secret devil broke down crying on her shoulder.
Needless to say, she accepted our offer, so the forr devil Nexa, now called Nessa, was coming with us back to Sephyr.
After spending our last day having fun and walking around, we began walking back to the Ryuken Arena to sleep when we were stopped by a woman shouting at us.
She wasn’t shouting anything bad but simply asked us to stop for a mont.
When we turned around, we saw it was the lady we saved from Prince Takeo, who had been beaten and lashed before getting thrown out, barely clothed, into the streets.
Of course, she looked much better now after lina treated her wounds with healing potions.
The woman introduced herself as Rika and apologized for not being able to thank us for our assistance back then, but we didn’t care about that since the poor woman fell unconscious after treating her.
She told us that she quit her job at the Red Street after the incident and had been looking for us ever since, then bowed her head low.
"Please, allow to work for you!" she exclaid.
lina and I were both a bit perplexed and embarrassed since people were looking our way, so we urged her to raise her head when talking to us.
Getting over our shock, lina and I placed our hands on our chins simultaneously, thinking of a job that we could give her.
’Let’s see. She was a sex worker, so those skills won’t really be useful to us...’ I thought.
Gina and Carli were our personal maids, and they took care of pretty much all of the cleaning wherever we went. However, their skills were better used for protection or hunting than cleaning.
"How are your cleaning skills?" I asked Rika.
"I-I’m alright! They used to make clean the rooms of the brothel all the ti..." she said.
lina was annoyed at her reply. She wasn’t mad at Rika but at the people who had treated her so inhumanly.
"We could take her to End Town..." I said.
End Town had been growing steadily, and plenty of jobs appeared in our town, so even if she didn’t want to be a maid for us, she could easily find other opportunities there.
Still, we asked if she had any family or people she wanted to take with her, but she said that she lived alone.
Basically, Rika had lost her parents at a young age and began working on the streets as a delivery girl. However, after she grew up, she kept getting harassed by n on the streets.
The only way she found to stop n from coming after her was by working in the brothel, which just made sad at that point.
After exchanging looks with lina, we nodded and decided to take her with us.
We went to her house—a small hut in the poorest part of the city and helped her pack her stuff, which only took us a few minutes as she didn’t have much.
Once we had stored her things in our void pockets, we told her to et us at the city’s entrance early in the morning the next day.
__________
On the day of our departure, all of our group t at the city’s entrance and gathered together so that lina, Vespera, and I could teleport us to Yumiko Port.
Seeing that it wasn’t a long distance, it was a piece of cake for us to teleport the group there and skip the day-long trip back in carriages.
Our ship was ready for us, and after everyone boarded, we began making our way back to our continent.
This ti, however, it would take us only two days out of the five since the students were using magic to propel the boat, as I taught them.
Interestingly enough, at so point during the trip, my relic bracelet, which had been pointing at Nessa the entire trip, switched its direction north.
It was the sa thing that happened when we first made our way to Kyotora. However, now I had a better idea about what the bracelet was trying to tell .
The fact that the bracelet ignored Nessa, who was close to , and pointed towards the northern empire made believe that a very powerful demon had to be there to override the relic.
Jackson told about one of them being up north, but I didn’t expect its demonic energy to reach all the way into the open seas.
I asked Nessa about it, and her face turned pale as if she had seen a ghost, which was strange considering she was a devil herself.
"Ba-Baelzor..." she muttered with fear.
From the way Nessa reacted, I could tell that this devil would be a huge problem. To calm her down, I pulled out so chocolate pieces from my void pocket, making her forget her fears instantly.
