After the break that we received from the incident at the exam, lessons resud, and our routine at the academy kept going without interruptions.

One day, all of the professors were called to the lounge for the headmaster to give an announcent.

Every two years, the three academies of the world would et up for a students’ tournant, where they chose their best combat individuals to participate.

It was called the "Combat World Tournant," and while the competitors were mostly students from the three magic academies around the world, other mages were able to sign in if they demonstrated they possessed a certain level of power.

However, people who had the title of "Sage" or "Professor" were not allowed to participate, so I was disqualified twice before even signing up.

Still, the reason the headmaster was telling us about it was because he needed other professors to go as chaperones for the competitors, and he was going to hand-pick them himself.

Of course, he pointed at and said that I would be one of the chaperones. However, he had also sent a ssage to the tournant organizers and recomnded as a referee for the matches.

’Huh? Seriously?’ I thought.

The tournant that year was going to take place in the nation of Kyotora, and I was pretty curious to see it soday, so the headmaster’s plan worked out for .

Still, I had never been a referee for anything, and I didn’t know the extent of the rules for each combat.

’Well, whatever, I can just learn the rules quickly...’

There were lots of preparations we needed to do beforehand, the most important one being picking the students who would be competing by organizing a showdown at the academy and finding the most talented combatants.

lina wouldn’t be able to participate since she was also a Sage, but the headmaster still allowed her to go with , which made appreciate the old man even more.

The following day, the announcent of the tournant beca public at the academy, and the students’ enthusiasm was rising as they signed up for the qualifier matches.

At so point, I had students swarming whenever I walked in the hallways, asking to tutor them during practice.

I would have done it, but there were so many of them that it was impossible for to help soone without ignoring the others, so I decided to hide in my room for a few days while the students cald down.

Of course, I kept visiting lina and her roommates from ti to ti since they wouldn’t bother as much, but that probably had to do with the fact that lina was already helping them out.

I may have been a professor, but she was also a Sage, so her advice was just as valuable as the headmaster’s or mine.

One day, I was hanging out in my room at the professor’s tower with my two companions when soone knocked on my door.

It was Luca and his twin sister, Florencia, who ca to ask for advice in their spell casting as they wanted to compete in the tournant.

’Hmmm, I don’t really wanna play favorites with the students. Still, they ca all the way here and just want so advice, so it should be fine...’ I thought.

However, I told them to co with to a remote area so the other students wouldn’t see us practicing in the courtyard, and I teleported to End Forest with the two.

The twins were mostly adept at using wind magic, but they could still cast a few basic spells from the other elents.

Wind magic had a lot of different uses. Besides boosting soone’s movents or propelling them in the air while flying, it could also be used to cut like a blade or enhance other spells.

Giving them an example, I used wind magic to create a small tornado. Nothing flashy or crazy so that it wouldn’t be too destructive.

Then, I used fire magic to light the tornado ablaze, creating a small fire tornado that lasted for a few seconds, putting it out before it could burn the environnt severely.

They seed to understand what I was trying to explain and began showing their own spells, making notice all the progress they had achieved as they cast most of their magic without uttering a single word.

Sotis, they would whisper words like "cut" before shooting an airwave that could easily slice the bark on the trees. However, it wasn’t strong enough to take them down with a single cast.

’Well, that’s probably for the better. We wouldn’t want them chopping soone up in half by mistake...’ I thought.

After giving the siblings their private lessons, the two were utterly exhausted since they had used all of their MP during practice.

I gave them an MP potion so they wouldn’t feel too dizzy and teleported them back to the academy to get so rest.

The following day, surprisingly enough, three more students ca to my room to ask for a private lesson.

Keiko, Gunther and Enzo. The three other students who were part of the team I took care of during the hunting exam were standing outside my door with nervous but determined looks.

Funnily enough, Luca and Florencia had nothing to do with it, as the group told they hadn’t talked to the siblings in a few days since everyone was focused on training.

I chuckled, "Alright, then. Let’s go..." I said, extending my arm so they could grab it and teleport us to End Forest.

For whatever reason, it made pretty happy seeing my students determined to learn and practice, which made it almost impossible for to turn them down.

Besides, I was getting pretty bored of hiding in my room from the swarm of other students, so giving them private lessons wasn’t so bad.

The tournant would take place in Kyotora, which was the neighboring nation to Lotus, Princess Keiko’s ho.

After I heard her muttering sothing about wanting to "show off to her family who would be present," my motivation to make them stronger only grew.

’I wasn’t that into it before. But now, I want my students to win the whole thing...’ I thought as I watched the trio practice their spells against the towering trees of the forest.
