Chapter 935: Not the Two Clans
As soon as Gu Lan and Gu Simu walked out of the grand hall, Xue Lengyan arrived from a distance.
“Master Gu.”
“I’ve arranged everything for the clan. This ti, I will lead a thousand Blood Venerables from the Blood Clan.”
Upon hearing this, Gu Lan’s expression turned puzzled. Initially, Gu Lan hadn’t intended to have Xue Lengyan accompany him again. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust her strength, but the Blood Clan had limited numbers of strong warriors. If all the elites went with him, who would stay behind to guard the clan?
“Blood Clan Master, it seems like…” Gu Lan began, but Xue Lengyan interrupted him.
“Master Gu, there is no need to worry. I’ve made preparations in advance.”
Now, Xue Lengyan could only think in the worst-case scenario. If Blood God really sought revenge, at least the Blood Clan would have a chance to survive. But if all the strong warriors were concentrated in one place, and the Blood Clan were wiped out, there would be no hope left.
Gu Lan didn’t say much more. True energy surged as he stepped into the void, his body vanishing in an instant.
Seeing Gu Lan disappear as a blur, Xue Lengyan hesitated for a mont. With a wave of her hand, nearly a thousand blood shadows surged out from behind her.
“Follow Gu Lan to the Human World.”
At her command, the Blood Clan warriors swiftly followed in Gu Lan’s wake.
To be fair, the Blood Venerables moved with impressive speed. Even Gu Lan could only catch fleeting glimpses of their shadows. In no ti, they had already returned to the Human World.
However, as soon as they stopped, Gu Lan sensed a dangerous aura.
It wasn’t from an exceptionally powerful being, but this presence was still irkso. Gu Lan had no interest in engaging with this person. He simply couldn’t be bothered to waste ti fighting.
The Hongng Sword appeared, and his true energy surged uncontrollably.
With a single swing, he stopped at the sky, releasing a multitude of sword lights.
“If you don’t want to die, retreat now. Otherwise, don’t bla .”
Gu Lan expected this display of power to send the group running. But what surprised him was that they were not the least bit intimidated by the force he radiated.
Frustration flared in Gu Lan, and a murderous intent flickered in his eyes.
“You brought this upon yourselves.”
With a slash, the sword light descended from the heavens, sweeping across the sky. The tearing sound of the air was deafening, and the entire sky seed to change color.
Under Gu Lan’s imnse strength, the hidden figure was forced out into the open.
As the sword light descended, the figure quickly turned and retreated. No hesitation lingered in him now—he dared not stay a mont longer, not wanting to fall here.
Gu Lan had succeeded in drawing him out, but he was shocked to find that this person’s aura was unfamiliar to him.
This wasn’t a mber of the Lava Clan or the Wizard Clan.
“Who are you? Why are you here?” Gu Lan asked, his grip on the Hongng Sword still strong, his aura unwavering.
But the person, still at a distance, did not react to his words. Instead, a layer of black energy enveloped him, and Gu Lan felt a sense of familiarity with this force, though he couldn’t place where he had encountered it before.
“Interesting. In that case, I’ll deal with you first!”
Gu Lan’s true energy surged, his Hongng Sword descending once more.
The speed of the Hongng Sword was so fast that it could not be tracked by ordinary beings. The power it unleashed was incredibly formidable. With a sharp whistle, the space before them split apart.
The mysterious figure’s strength was still formidable, but against Gu Lan’s strike, how could he possibly resist?
“Zii!”
With a single slash, the Hongng Sword pressed against the man’s forehead. Although Gu Lan didn’t kill him, the invisible pressure had already immobilized the figure.
The pressure continued to build, forcing the man to bend forward, unable to resist.
Gu Lan advanced step by step, and the man’s face grew darker by the second.
Gu Lan did not like the look in his eyes, and with a single step forward, he grabbed his throat.
A slight increase in force made the man’s face turn bright red.
“Speak! Who sent you here?”
Gu Lan could only think of the Lava Clan and the Wizard Clan as possible culprits, but he had no idea who this person was or who had sent him.
The man remained silent, so Gu Lan’s grip tightened, and the pressure on him increased.
Gu Lan was surprised that this person didn’t struggle at all. His aura was gradually weakening, but the man showed no resistance, his breath growing fainter.
Sighing, Gu Lan prepared to deal with him.
However, just as he was about to take action, a figure appeared in the clouds.
Gu Lan recognized the person—it was Xuan Feng.
With a slightly cold gaze, Xuan Feng locked his eyes on the man, and Gu Lan did not release his grip.
“Is he one of your subordinates?”
Xuan Feng did not hesitate to answer. He smiled faintly and nodded.
“Yes.”
“I wonder, where did he offend Master Gu?”
As soon as Xuan Feng appeared, he imdiately said these words. Gu Lan gave a cold smile.
“What do you think?”
This person had not directly offended him, but Gu Lan had acted first, as it was better to strike preemptively rather than wait for trouble to co. He certainly didn’t want to find himself dead without understanding why.
“Master Gu, please don’t misunderstand. He’s under my orders, but he isn’t here to cause you trouble.”
Xuan Feng’s tone shifted, and Gu Lan beca curious.
“Blood God has been reborn. He will not let you go easily.”
Gu Lan didn’t need Xuan Feng to tell him that. He was already fully aware.
“I appreciate your concern, but I don’t need you to remind of this.”
With that, Gu Lan threw the man aside.
After so thought, Gu Lan decided not to kill him.
It wasn’t because he was afraid; it was simply unnecessary to make another enemy. He didn’t know where this person ca from, and there was no need to provoke him.
Gu Lan suspected that this individual might have backing from so other force, and that could bring more trouble his way.
Xuan Feng had already anticipated Gu Lan’s decision not to kill the man. He knew that with Gu Lan’s current situation, he would avoid provoking another faction. While Gu Lan could handle things on his own, the others beneath him couldn’t.
Acting rashly would only lead to death.
Although he hadn’t interacted much with Gu Lan, Xuan Feng knew him quite well. Though he hadn’t shown himself in recent days, he had not stopped investigating Gu Lan.
“Thank you for sparing him, Master Gu.”
Gu Lan didn’t respond to his words, his eyes still cold.
“Leave here. I’m not interested in you.”
“But if you dare to show up again, don’t bla for being rciless.”
With those words, Gu Lan turned and started walking away.
Just as he took a step, Xuan Feng suddenly conjured a token in his hand and tossed it toward Gu Lan.
Gu Lan, seeing the token, looked confused.
“What’s this supposed to an?”
“Keep it, Master Gu. I believe you’ll soon find it useful. If you run into trouble, I can assist you.”
After saying this, Xuan Feng didn’t give Gu Lan a chance to speak.
