Chapter 908: Unforeseen Outcos

At the root of all this, everything stemd from his actions. Had he not led Lanyan Royal School to Immortal Realm before, there would have been no subsequent trouble, and the Upper Three Clans would not have co into play. Now, it was too late to turn back, and no matter what he said, it would make no difference. All he could do now was face the trouble as it ca.

Having no sense of Lin Tan’er’s presence, Gu Lan closed his eyes and sat still, golden light flashing from his body as the Great Path energy surged within him. Gradually, blood energy began to float around him once more.

At present, the powers within Gu Lan’s body could be divided into three parts: his original strength, the Blood Demon Kung Fu, and the Great Path energy. Watching the aura swirling around him, Gu Lan ca up with a bold idea. Since all these forces were his, he wondered if he could rge them. If he succeeded, his strength could undergo a major improvent.

However, this was just an idea, and he wasn’t sure whether it would work. With little hesitation, Gu Lan decided to give it a try. He kept his movents small, as it was his first attempt and he didn’t want to make too much noise.

The blood energy, true energy, and Great Path energy slowly began to rge. At first, everything went smoothly, but after a short while, the combined energy beca highly restless. Before Gu Lan could react, the aura exploded, sending a powerful shockwave that made him stumble back a couple of steps.

Gu Lan was stunned. Steadying himself, he furrowed his brow. “How could this happen?” he muttered. He had already seen signs of the fusion before, so it shouldn’t have dissipated so quickly.

Undeterred, Gu Lan decided to try again. This ti, he was more determined, realizing how powerful the energy was, especially since it had forced him back. If he could make use of it, solving his troubles would be much easier.

It was unclear how much ti passed, but eventually, Gu Lan stood up. He had gathered the energy, but it was faint, and there was only a trace of it left in his hand. He stared at the dim, fluctuating aura and then summoned the Hongng Sword.

Without hesitation, Gu Lan injected the energy into the Hongng Sword. As soon as the energy entered, a trendous force erupted from the sword. The loud ringing of the blade echoed through the air, and cracks appeared on the Hongng Sword’s surface.

Seeing this, Gu Lan was shocked. The Hongng Sword was a top-tier treasure. How could it not withstand the force? His thoughts were correct, but the reality was different.

Gu Lan wanted to wait, but his intuition told him that waiting was not an option. His face darkened as he swung the sword with determination. He had no choice but to release the power within the Hongng Sword.

With a loud crash, the training secret place was completely destroyed by a single strike from Gu Lan. Standing amidst the destruction, Gu Lan was at a loss. His eyes widened in disbelief, and his expression grew darker.

He had only intended to release the energy within the Hongng Sword, never imagining it would explode with such force. The aura here was so strong that it caught the attention of Gu Simu, Zhongren, Ding True Man, and the others. They arrived in no ti, and seeing their figures, Gu Lan suppressed his astonishnt.

“It’s nothing, I was just testing sothing,” Gu Lan said.

Though he spoke calmly, Gu Simu and the others showed no intention of leaving. Their expressions were still solemn; this didn’t seem like a simple test.

“Leave. I need to continue my cultivation,” Gu Lan said, and only then did the group depart.

Once they were gone, Gu Lan’s gaze turned back to the Hongng Sword. There were countless cracks on the sword, and the energy within it had diminished significantly. Gu Lan poured in more true energy, but the sword’s power didn’t recover.

Reluctantly, he continued trying, but with the sa result. The energy remained unchanged, and the cracks on the Hongng Sword didn’t disappear.

Gu Lan was completely dumbfounded. The Hongng Sword had accompanied him for many years. If it were to be destroyed like this, he would be deeply disheartened.

As Gu Lan pondered, Xue Lengyan arrived. She glanced around before focusing on Gu Lan. Seeing his expression, she could tell sothing was wrong.

“Master Gu, have you run into trouble?” she asked.

Turning to face her, Gu Lan sighed. “Indeed, I’ve run into so trouble.”

He smiled bitterly, and the Hongng Sword was placed before him. Seeing the sword’s condition, Xue Lengyan was taken aback. She had witnessed the power of the Hongng Sword and knew it wasn’t so fragile.

This was enough to show just how terrifying Gu Lan’s power had been. After examining the sword, Xue Lengyan’s expression grew serious. “With ordinary true energy, it cannot be repaired.”

“Is there any other way?” Gu Lan asked. While his strength was formidable, he wasn’t well-versed in matters like this.

Xue Lengyan gathered blood energy in her hand, and as it dispersed, a jet-black piece of iron appeared.

“This is Abyssal Xuan Iron. Perhaps it can help you, Master Gu,” she said, handing it to him.

As soon as Gu Lan took the item, he felt a surge of pure true energy. He was surprised. “This material contains a strong true energy, but it seems difficult to refine.”

Xue Lengyan nodded. “It’s not easy to refine. It requires Hellfire.”

Since she ntioned it, Gu Lan knew she must have known where to find this fire.

Without hesitation, Gu Lan asked, “Where can I find it?”

“In Immortal Realm’s Hell, the Land of Ruin,” Xue Lengyan answered.

Upon hearing this, Gu Lan’s expression grew solemn. He had heard of this place before in Immortal Realm; it was forbidden ground for all God Clans. Yet, with the Hongng Sword in such a state, he had no other choice.

“I must go there. You all stay here and keep watch. If there’s any danger, call for imdiately,” Gu Lan said, handing Xue Lengyan a token. Without waiting for a reply, he gathered his energy and stepped forward, disappearing in a blur.

In the void, Gu Lan sped along, his face filled with helplessness. Had he known this would happen, he would have let the Hongng Sword bear the force instead. He had thought the sword could withstand it, but it turned out he was wrong. Now, with the sword broken, he had no reliable weapon.

Watching Gu Lan disappear, Xue Lengyan shook her head with a bitter smile. She didn’t believe there was any danger awaiting him, especially after feeling the strength within him. Gu Lan not only possessed his own energy but also a powerful Great Path energy.
