Chapter 880: Slaughtering a Thousand Wizard Clan mbers
His eyes widened in disbelief. He had thought he was fast enough, but Gu Lan still managed to kill him.
Seeing the expression on his face, Gu Lan sneered. “Did you really think you could be my opponent?”
With a cold voice, Gu Lan drew the Hongng Sword. Blood splattered as the man fell from the sky, slain by Gu Lan.
With his death, the formation lost its central point. The wizard soldiers standing nearby showed anger and murderous intent in their eyes. However, none dared to fight Gu Lan. They all withdrew cautiously, their faces cold and filled with fear.
Noticing their apprehension, Gu Lan’s lips curled into a cold smile as his aura intensified.
Pointing his sword at the sky, Gu Lan summoned a torrent of sword light. “You’ve used up all your tricks, now it’s my turn.”
Under Gu Lan’s overwhelming power, the entire sky seed to shatter. These warriors, Gu Lan had no intention of letting them survive. He pressed down, and the torrent of sword light swept forth.
The soldiers, although fast to react, were still too slow. Within monts, several hundred of them collapsed, weakened and in pain, their eyes filled with deep fear.
Previously, with the formation’s central point intact, they had been able to restrain Gu Lan. But now, they were no match for him. If they kept fighting, it would only lead to their deaths.
The distant Wizard Clan experts, upon seeing this, also had their expressions darken. They had originally hoped that the formation would be enough to deal with Gu Lan, but the outco was not what they expected.
“What should we do now?” one asked.
“Leave,” another suggested after considering the situation. Gu Lan’s strength was not sothing they could confront head-on. They still wanted to live and didn’t want to throw their lives away foolishly.
“Wizard Clan soldiers, hear my command! Kill him!” a voice shouted angrily. At the command, the wizard soldiers once again mobilized their energy.
The Wizard Clan soldiers were always absolutely obedient, but as the soldiers surged forward, the leaders of the group turned and fled.
With Gu Lan’s power, killing them would be easy, so they did not hesitate to retreat. Though the wizard soldiers were important to the Wizard Clan, the leaders didn’t care about their fates. As long as they survived, that was what mattered most.
Without the formation, these wizard soldiers were no match for Gu Lan. They didn’t even have the chance to fight back before they were all slain.
Gu Lan’s cold gaze swept across the battlefield, his killing intent flashing in his eyes. Stepping forward, his figure beca a blur.
“Slashing… slashing…”
With a series of tearing sounds, blood-colored sword shadows swept across the sky.
When Gu Lan finally stopped, nearly a thousand wizard soldiers had been killed by his hand. He wiped the blood from the Hongng Sword, his power surging once again.
However, just as he was about to move forward, he noticed that the leaders of the retreating forces had disappeared.
He had expected them to have so backbone and fight to the bitter end, but instead, they had chosen to run.
Gu Lan frowned slightly and then suppressed his aura. He believed that these enemies would return, but for now, there was no need to chase them. He only needed to wait.
Although Gu Lan had acted alone, the number of powerful opponents he had killed was no small feat. The Wizard Clan had lost nearly a thousand of its elite warriors, a significant loss for them. However, Gu Lan knew that the Wizard Clan’s true strength was far greater than this. To truly destroy them, he needed to wait for the right opportunity—an opportunity that would co with the appearance of the Lava Clan.
Without hesitation, Gu Lan turned and left the battlefield. But just as he did, a figure appeared in the shadows. The person had a thick bloodlust surrounding them, and a cold smile played on their lips.
“So, you are Gu Lan. Impressive strength,” the figure muttered to himself, before turning and vanishing.
In that instant, Gu Lan sensed a malicious presence. However, by the ti he turned around, the figure was already gone.
Gu Lan’s face showed confusion. “Did I sense that wrong?”
As he pondered, a blood shadow suddenly appeared in the distance. Xue Lengyan walked forward, bowing respectfully.
“Greetings, Master Gu!”
Xue Lengyan’s sudden appearance left Gu Lan puzzled. He glanced at her with a look of uncertainty. “What brings you here?”
“The news has spread. A powerful mber of the Lava Clan wishes to et you,” Xue Lengyan answered.
Seeing Xue Lengyan’s expression, Gu Lan felt a sense of unease. He could tell that the visitor from the Lava Clan wasn’t here for peaceful purposes.
“Since they’ve co, I suppose I should go et them,” Gu Lan said coldly, a faint smile creeping onto his face as he turned and walked ahead.
Before long, he returned to the Jing Nation Imperial Palace. As soon as he stopped, he noticed a figure in front of him. At the sa ti, the Lava Clan expert turned his head.
Upon seeing Gu Lan, the man smiled aningfully and gave a slight bow.
“Young Lord of the Lava Clan, Chi Yang, greets Master Gu!” the man said.
Gu Lan recognized the na and knew that Chi Yang was no stranger to the intrigues of the Lava Clan.
“Gu Lan, Lord of Jing Nation, greets the young lord of the Lava Clan!” Gu Lan replied, not following the formalities but sitting coldly in the main seat.
“May I ask why the young lord has co here?” Gu Lan asked, his voice indifferent.
He had previously interacted with Mo Xuan, but this person seed far more calculating.
“I believe Master Gu must have guessed why I am here,” Chi Yang’s voice was filled with hidden aning.
Gu Lan feigned confusion and shook his head. “I’m afraid I don’t know. Please enlighten .”
“You’re facing significant trouble with the Wizard Clan. I can assist you, but I have one condition,” Chi Yang said, his tone heavy with expectation.
Gu Lan had already anticipated this. “Speak.”
This ti, Gu Lan didn’t refuse. It was exactly what he had been waiting for.
“The Lava Clan will help you deal with the Wizard Clan, and from now on, Lanyan Royal School will be under our control,” Chi Yang said, his face cold as he watched Gu Lan for a reaction.
Gu Lan didn’t imdiately reject the offer, but his expression remained neutral. “That’s acceptable, but you’ll need to handle things on your side first.”
“Master Gu, are you trying to play for a fool?” Chi Yang’s face darkened at Gu Lan’s words.
If, after the Lava Clan dealt with the Wizard Clan, Gu Lan suddenly backed out, the Lava Clan would have wasted their efforts.
“This is your only opportunity. Master Gu, think carefully,” Chi Yang’s tone was stern, clearly a warning.
“I understand your concerns. You’re afraid that once the Wizard Clan is dealt with, I’ll back out,” Gu Lan said, his voice cutting through the tension. “But why should I trust you?”
Gu Lan’s words left Chi Yang speechless, his face contorting with frustration. He didn’t know how to respond.
Under Chi Yang’s watchful gaze, Gu Lan slowly stood up, a cold smile still on his lips.
