733: Life-and-Death Battle 733: Life-and-Death Battle The person Gu Lan was fighting was the only remaining strong fighter on their side, and there could be no slip-ups.
Since he couldn’t catch up to Gu Lan, Dark Master decided to target Lanyan Royal School instead.
As long as Lanyan Royal School was threatened, Gu Lan would definitely co back.
By that ti, they could team up and take care of Gu Lan, completely eliminating Lanyan Royal School.
Upon hearing Dark Master’s words, the others beside him darkened, their killing intent surging.
They imdiately activated their energies, unleashing a wave of dark qi that covered the area.
“Since you insist, we will follow your plan.”
These individuals were not concerned with any doubts, focused only on how to solve the problem swiftly.
Dark Master’s expression was grim as he directed his energy and transford into a blur, vanishing from sight.
Earlier, he had been a bit worried, afraid that these people would not obey him.
But that concern wasn’t without reason, considering their power was greater than his.
They were powerful figures from his clan, who had been in slumber, and their status in the clan far exceeded his.
It was only because they showed no interest in the position of clan leader that Dark Master had seized it.
Gu Lan’s speed was astonishing as he raced through the skies, already thousands of miles away.
Seeing that Dark Master and the others didn’t follow, Gu Lan’s expression remained cold, and his pace slowed.
When the elder behind him saw this, his expression hardened.
He stopped, hovering at a distance of several hundred feet, still cautious.
He had no intention of underestimating Gu Lan—after all, the power Gu Lan had displayed was truly terrifying.
He dared not act rashly, and his eyes were filled with murderous intent.
Gu Lan, noticing the elder’s caution, sneered and spoke mockingly, his sword already in hand.
“Why so tense?
We’re already here.
You don’t think it’s still appropriate to not act, do you?”
His voice was dripping with disdain.
The elder, however, was visibly enraged, and black qi erupted around him, enveloping the surroundings.
“Do not be so arrogant, or you will pay the price!”
Though the black qi was formidable, it couldn’t even penetrate the faint steam-like aura surrounding Gu Lan.
The intense black energy shattered the mont it touched him.
“Is this the best you can do?
Still dragging this out with ?”
Gu Lan’s tone was full of disdain as he poured his true energy into the Hongng Sword.
The sword light flashed, and a terrifying surge of sword qi spread out.
With a single swing, the air around them tore apart, and the entire sky trembled.
The elder tried to block the attack, but the force was so imnse that the space around them exploded.
They were both sucked into a black hole of energy.
Gu Lan, unhard, remained calm, while the elder, about a hundred feet away, was not so fortunate.
A deep sword mark ran across his body, and his face turned pale.
Though pale, the elder did not attempt to flee.
Instead, he stared ahead, his expression icy cold.
“This is your strongest strike?
Let show you my thods.”
The black qi erupted once again, flowing into his body.
At this mont, a dark shadow appeared behind him.
Blood-red light flickered, and with a leap, the elder shot forward, charging at Gu Lan.
In his hand, a blood-red dagger materialized, and he struck, unleashing a hundred blood-colored rays of light.
Gu Lan raised an eyebrow, and as the attack approached, he casually swung his sword, shattering the incoming energy.
But unfortunately, he did not manage to injure the elder.
The elder dodged with astounding speed, effortlessly deflecting all the sword lights.
Gu Lan was taken aback.
This elder, despite being gravely wounded, still displayed such strength.
It was no wonder he dared to face Gu Lan alone—he had clearly prepared himself.
“Your power is nothing special!” Gu Lan sneered.
The elder’s aura surged as his power reached a new level.
“Dark Clan’s secret technique, Blood Ritual!” he roared.
He raised the dagger and slashed at his own arm.
Blood light flashed, and the black blood that spilled from his body was absorbed by the dark shadow behind him.
Slowly, the shadow began to take form, and the elder’s aura grew even stronger.
Gu Lan frowned.
He was shocked to see the elder resorting to self-harm to summon this dark figure.
“Hey, don’t go dying on just yet!”
Gu Lan was utterly unimpressed by the elder’s flashy and self-destructive tactics.
If things continued this way, the elder would certainly die without Gu Lan needing to lift a finger.
“I die?
I’ll make sure you stay here!” the elder growled, his face cold.
His aura erupted as he called upon the dark energies once more.
The black blood continued to flow toward the dark figure, which began to take solid form, now radiating with power at the Sixth Imperial Realm.
Gu Lan, however, was not intimidated.
He sighed internally, raising his sword once again.
He swiftly appeared behind the elder, striking before the elder could react.
A single swing of the Hongng Sword shattered the dark figure, sending shards of energy scattering in all directions.
The elder, stunned, spun around, but before he could make a move, Gu Lan’s fist slamd into his face.
A mouthful of blood sprayed out, and the elder was sent flying back, crashing hundreds of feet away.
The elder stood there in shock, unable to speak.
“You despicable bastard!
You attack while I’m using my power!” he roared, infuriated.
Gu Lan, growing impatient, responded coldly, “Get this straight.
We’re in a life-and-death battle.
Do you think I’m going to give you a chance?”
This was a fair statent.
The elder’s failure was due to Gu Lan’s superior skill, and there was no reason for Gu Lan to let him off the hook.
The elder’s attempt to outmaneuver Gu Lan had failed because of his own weakness, and it wasn’t Gu Lan’s fault.
The elder, however, was enraged.
“You will pay for this today!” he hissed, his voice icy with fury.
His body blurred as he beca a streak of shadow, charging at Gu Lan.
But Gu Lan did not even acknowledge him, seeing the elder’s attack as nothing more than a futile effort.
Even if the elder managed to land a blow, Gu Lan was confident that he would easily avoid it, and if it ca to a fight, the elder was no match for him.
Just as the elder closed in, Gu Lan calmly stepped forward.
Sword light flashed, and with a single strike, the air exploded.
“Boom!”
With a deafening sound, the space around them shattered.
The elder disappeared without a trace.
Gu Lan, not even bothering to follow up, sheathed his sword.
He reined in his energy and took a step forward.
The elder, pale and devoid of any energy, could do nothing but watch as Gu Lan advanced.
He took a cautious step back, retreating two steps.
“I admit defeat,” the elder said in a hoarse voice, his face filled with disbelief.
“I lost to you, a despicable little bastard.”
Gu Lan, seeing the elder’s miserable state, rely shot him a cold glance.
He didn’t bother to engage in further conversation.
The Hongng Sword emitted a glint of cold light.
