Chapter 471: Chapter 470: Death Substitution (Two Updates)_1

He ngji heard the muffled screams from afar, and tears instantly stread down her face.

If it weren’t for the heart-wrenching pain, Thirteen, with his iron-clad will, would never have let out such agonizing screams.

“You bastard, what’s so special about you that so many people have to die for you?”

He Ji turned her head and glanced at Ye Xiong, who was deep in an unconscious slumber on her shoulder. She truly wished she could turn back and trade him to Guo Furong in exchange for Thirteen’s life.

But then she imdiately rembered how Ye Xiong had fearlessly transford a second ti to save the Hunter Organization.

He might be a bastard, but he was the kind of bastard that evoked both love and hate.

Making a difficult choice, a painful decision, tears blurred the eyes of He ngji, who hadn’t cried in many years.

Behind her, the screams of Thirteen continued without end.

“Thirteen, I’m sorry. If there’s an afterlife, I promise I’ll be your woman.”

He ngji gritted her teeth and, carrying Ye Xiong, ran towards the docked ships.

If Thirteen died, the Hunter Organization could still survive, but if Ye Xiong died, then the Hunter Organization would be completely finished.

Although Ye Xiong only cared about flirting with won and was often absent from the company, acting like a hands-off boss,

It was undeniable that, without Ye Xiong, the Hunter Organization would have been wiped out long ago with just her abilities.

He might be a bastard, but he was a useful one.

Only with his presence could the core mbers unify; only he could command respect, and only he could manage those proud individuals of the core team.

Chen Xiao, Vermilion Bird, Murong Ruyin, An Family Sisters – wasn’t each one of them exceedingly proud?

If it hadn’t been for giving him face, could she have managed them at all?

He ngji wiped away her tears and glanced back one more ti.

She saw from a distance Thirteen fall to the ground but still stubbornly clung to Guo Furong’s foot. Then, she saw Guo Furong raise a knife.

“Ye Xiong, if you don’t survive this, I will never forgive you,” He ngji said.

As Guo Furong shook off Thirteen’s clinginess and started chasing after her, He ngji hurriedly fled through the boats.

“What are you doing?”

An employee on one of the ships blocked her path.

“Get lost.”

He ngji kicked up her foot, sending him flying into the water.

People around were startled; they hadn’t expected this woman to be so fierce, to kick soone away while carrying another person.

Next, two more crew mbers tried to stop He ngji and were both kicked away by her.

After leaping over countless ships, He ngji managed to look back and realized that Guo Furong was getting closer.

If it continued like this, she would be caught sooner or later.

Suddenly, she noticed a crew mber in front with clothing similar to Ye Xiong’s. In her mind, an idea of “death substitution” erged.

She quickly set Ye Xiong in a corner, covered him with miscellaneous items, then approached the man dressed sowhat like Ye Xiong from behind, knocked him out, and started running with him on her back.

This ti, she didn’t continue to flee across the ships, but jumped to the shore and escaped to a back alley with food stalls.

She didn’t know how long she had been running when she heard the persistent wailing sound, signaling the ships were about to set sail.

He ngji turned around to see the fleet slowly moving away from the shore, heading out to sea.

“Carrying soone and still running for so long, you’re quite the runner,” Guo Furong caught up and sneered.

“Guo Furong, you cheap woman, what do you want?” He ngji cursed.

“Hand over the person. Considering how desperately you tried to save my brother, I might just spare your life,” Guo Furong said.

“Sounds good, but who could be more heartless than a sister like you?”

“It’s a matter of perspective. To be honest, I quite admire my brother, but it’s a pity, why did he have to be my mortal enemy?” Guo Furong laughed.

“Guo Furong, how much money will it take for you to let him go?” He ngji suddenly asked, her eyes darting around.

“Money?”

Guo Furong was taken aback, then burst into raucous laughter, nearly in tears.

“I lack everything except money.”

“What do you want? Just say it, and if it’s within my power, I’ll make it happen for you,” He ngji said.

Guo Furong’s brow furrowed.

Before coming to Jiangnan, she had investigated the Hunter Organization and knew that He ngji was reputed to be their top strategist, so why was she speaking in such a foolish manner now?

Her gaze fell on the person He ngji was carrying on her back, noting that the color of the pants was sowhat different. A knot of worry ford in her heart.

“You filthy woman, take this!” He ngji suddenly threw the person off her back and turned to run.

Guo Furong walked over, turned the person on the ground over for a look, and sure enough, it wasn’t Ye Xiong. She was instantly furious.

Was He ngji rambling on with nonsense just to buy ti?

“Damn, I’ve been had.”

Guo Furong imdiately realized that she had been tricked by He ngji’s death substitution ploy while they were on the dock.

With this thought, she hurriedly ran towards the beach. By the ti she got there, over a hundred boats had already left the dock by several ters. If only she hadn’t wasted ti talking nonsense with He ngji, she might have caught up.

“Damn that woman,” Guo Furong cursed.

Having no other choice, she had to leave.

The Reaper activated his second transformation and even without interference, his chances of survival were slim.

In the distance, He ngji stood at the shore, looking out at the expanse of the port and murmured, “You must hold on. I will send people to find you.”

As dusk fell, a boat headed out to sea.

There were twenty people on board, all trembling with fear.

They were all extrely cautious, staring intently at the sea surface, afraid that customs officers might suddenly appear.

This was a human smuggling boat. The captain was taking these people to Macau to work, commonly known as illegal immigrants.

Wages in Macau were much higher than on the mainland, and this tempted many to take the risk and embark on the path of illegal immigration.

As the outline of Macau grew closer and closer, almost reaching the shore, the transporter let out a sigh of relief.

At that mont, a siren wailed incessantly.

“The vessel ahead, stop for inspection.”

A voice blared from the loudspeakers of the customs boat.

“Jump ship now!”

“The mainland is just ahead, you can swim there.”

“Hurry up, stop dawdling!”

The Serpent Head shouted loudly.

Under his urging, all the illegal immigrants aboard the boat jumped into the sea with splashes, desperately swimming towards the shore to escape pursuit.

“Boss, there’s soone here who’s passed out,” one of the crew mbers said.

The Serpent Head walked over and saw a man hidden in the corner of the boat by so debris, his clothes tattered, unconscious.

“What’s with this guy?” the Serpent Head asked.

“He doesn’t seem like one of our clients,” the crew mber said.

“Shit, not even our boat is that easy to board. Throw him into the sea,” the Serpent Head cursed.

“But if we throw him overboard like this, can he survive?” the crew mber hesitated.

“If anything happens to him, none of us will survive. Hurry up,” the Serpent Head cursed.

With gritted teeth, the crew mber threw the man’s body overboard, and with a splash, he sank into the sea.

Just then, the smuggling boat was overtaken.

“Stop, don’t move!”

“Put your hands up, get down!”

“Stay quiet.”

The customs boat closed in on the smuggling vessel, and the mariti police descended from the ship one after another, taking control of the Serpent Head and the crew.

“Bring the smugglers from the sea up,” the officer ordered.
