Chapter 469: Chapter 0468 Betrayal (Part 4) – 1
Angel and An Le’er escorted Yang Xinyi away, and upon seeing that the pursuers were not following, the three sat down to catch their breath.
“Le’er, are you okay?” Angel asked, looking at the gunshot wound on her arm.
“I won’t die,” An Le’er stated.
Both won were injured, An Le’er had been shot twice, and Angel once; both were persevering through sheer willpower.
Yang Xinyi cursed herself over and over in her heart for being useless. So many people had died to save her, Ye Xiong’s life hung in the balance, and now these two had been so seriously injured.
“It’s all my fault, I’ve dragged you down. If it weren’t for , so many people wouldn’t have had to sacrifice,” tears stread down Yang Xinyi’s face.
“The Hunter Organization and the Beast Organization have long held grudges against each other; a conflict would have erupted sooner or later. You’re just a catalyst, don’t bla yourself,” An Le’er consoled.
“Le’er is right, you don’t have to bla yourself,” Angel said.
“I wonder how Ah Xiong is doing now.”
Yang Xinyi felt very anxious when she rembered Murong Ruyin’s description. If what Murong Ruyin had described were true, she had no idea what to do.
“The boss has nine lives; he won’t die so easily, rest assured,” An Le’er assured her.
“This past year, the boss has been through several life-and-death situations, and yet, he’s still alive,” Angel added.
As the two won were reassuring each other, a figure appeared behind them, startling both Angel and An Le’er.
The fact that soone had managed to approach them silently was a testant not only to the negligence of the injured won but also to the incomparable skill of the newcor.
An Le’er thought about resisting when a gun was pressed against her head.
“Don’t move, or else I’ll blow your brains out,” ca the threat.
Yang Xinyi turned around and saw a familiar figure, urgently saying, “Guo Furong, they are my friends, don’t hurt them.”
The sudden appearance was none other than Ghost’s second disciple, Guo Furong.
“You are Ghost’s second disciple, Poison Lady Guo Furong?” An Le’er turned and saw an unfamiliar yet beautiful face.
The An Family Sisters had heard about Poison Lady Guo Furong, Ghost’s second disciple, from Ye Xiong. They knew she was the one who had broken into the company, killed several people, and attempted to steal the data.
Falling into her hands today likely ant they were in grave danger.
“Guo Furong, you can’t harm her,” Yang Xinyi quickly stepped forward, shielding An Le’er.
Yang Xinyi wasn’t afraid of Guo Furong in the slightest.
Although she had been captured by Guo Furong, she couldn’t imagine what her fate would have been at the villa if not for Guo Furong’s help.
Guo Furong had captured her, but had not tortured her. They had even shared a room the previous night, as if Guo Furong were afraid she’d get injured.
Yang Xinyi herself couldn’t understand Guo Furong’s behavior, simultaneously capturing her but also seemingly protecting her.
Guo Furong’s eyes swept over Angel and An Le’er, and with a laugh, she said, “My little brother really is sothing else, to have won this beautiful willing to die for him, tsk tsk, impressive indeed!”
“Guo Furong, what do you want?”
“To kill or not to kill, why all the fuss?”
The An Family Sisters glared at her, prepared to face death.
“If I kill you, wouldn’t my little brother be heartbroken?”
Guo Furong chuckled, her gaze flitting between Angel and An Le’er, asking, “What kind of magic does my little brother possess to make you sisters so willing to risk death for him? Could it be his ‘X’ abilities are really strong?”
The faces of the An Family Sisters darkened. This Guo Furong was truly outrageous, must she be so vile?
Yang Xinyi stepped in front of Furong and said, “Guo Furong, what exactly do you want?”
“I don’t want anything in particular, just bored and taking a stroll,” Guo Furong replied as she pocketed her gun, pointing in a direction, “Don’t go that way; there’s an ambush. Go this way instead.”
“How can we trust you?”
“Believe it or not, that’s up to you.”
After saying that, Guo Furong actually just walked away.
The An Family Sisters looked at each other, all completely baffled.
Could Guo Furong really be Ghost’s disciple?
Wasn’t she supposed to detest the mbers of the Hunter Organization to the extent of wanting to annihilate them? How could she possibly let them go and even guide them to a route without ambushes?
The more they thought about it, the less they understood.
“By the way, you can’t tell anyone about my appearance here. If you do, the next ti I see you, it won’t be so pleasant,” Guo Furong said, and then she truly left.
The An Family Sisters’ gazes simultaneously fell on Yang Xinyi.
“Do you know her?” An Le’er asked.
Yang Xinyi shook her head. “I also saw her for the first ti when I was captured yesterday.”
Then, Yang Xinyi recounted what had happened to her after she was captured.
“Based on what you’ve said, there are two possibilities. The first, she isn’t Ghost’s disciple at all and is simply deceiving us. The second, although she is Ghost’s disciple, she’s acting on soone else’s instructions to protect you – what we commonly refer to as a double agent,” An Le’er analyzed.
“You’re analyzing this correctly. Yang Xinyi, it’s possible soone sent her to protect you secretly,” An Le’er said.
“That’s impossible, right?” Yang Xinyi found it hard to believe.
The only relatives she had in this world were her adoptive parents, a biological father she hadn’t acknowledged, and a mother who was said to have disappeared. They were all ordinary people; how could they have the power to send such a capable woman to protect her?
“Don’t think too much about it. You just need to know whether Guo Furong harbors any ill will towards you,” An Le’er said.
The three of them stood up and left in the direction Guo Furong had indicated as being without ambush.
Elsewhere.
Thirteen, carrying Ye Xiong on his back, was constantly dodging trackers with He ngji.
“Wait a second,” He ngji suddenly said.
“What’s wrong?”
“Sothing isn’t right.”
Furrowing her brows, He ngji’s unease grew the more she thought.
“These people don’t seem like they’re from the Cloud Guild. Most of the Cloud Guild mbers are locals from the northwest, generally tall with large, square faces and distinct northern features. Those who intercepted us just now had varied appearances; it’s very likely they’re mbers of the Beast Organization.”
“In such an ergency just now, how could you tell at a glance? It’s probably just a few short people by chance! Don’t overthink it; let’s run, the pursuers will catch up soon,” Thirteen urged.
He ngji’s mind raced as scenes flashed through her head.
Suddenly, she stopped dead.
“Thirteen, wait a second.”
“What is it now?”
“Hand Ye Xiong over, let carry him,” He ngji said, staring at him.
“It’s not convenient for you, as a woman,” Thirteen said.
He ngji stood still, simply looking at him.
Thirteen couldn’t et her gaze, his eyes shifting evasively.
“Thirteen, don’t tell my guess is true,” He ngji asked, her voice trembling.
Thirteen hung his head.
“Miss, I’m sorry.”
He ngji’s heart went cold in an instant, “Why?”
