Song Xian was not familiar with Lu Chengzhou but he was said to be the chosen heir of the Lu family. He was also very secretive about his activities, so he was surely not a simple man.
Also...
Song Xian glanced at the gifts placed on the floor beside them.
One who is unaccountably solicitous is hiding evil intentions.
There was a tea set on the coffee table. Lu Chengzhou poured two cups of tea and placed one in front of Song Xian.
“Master.” Lu Chengzhou’s way of addressing him made Song Xian frown.
“Don’t call that,” Song Xian answered coldly. “You aren’t even married, what ‘Master’?”
Lu Chengzhou nodded. But when he spoke, he still said whatever he pleased. “Master, I have co to you today to ask you for a favor.”
Song Xian said nothing. He wanted to chase him out.
“You do research on DNA. I have a special project and I was hoping that I could get your help.” Lu Chengzhou was very polite.
Song Xian paused while sipping tea. “Why would the Lu family have a research project in this field?”
“Now is not the ti to talk about it yet,” Lu Chengzhou took a sip of tea and answered calmly.
Song Xian’s eyes were distant. He went silent for two seconds. “If you don’t explain it clearly, I will not agree.”
Lu Chengzhou rubbed his finger on the cup’s rim slowly and did not answer.
Song Xian suddenly rembered sothing and looked at him. “I heard that you previously abducted Yu Zhongjing from the laboratory to make him perform surgery on Mrs. Lu. You won’t abduct too, will you?”
Lu Chengzhou laughed slightly. “You are Gu Mang’s master, that makes you my master. You won’t be treated that way.”
Song Xian couldn’t trust him. The Lu family were known to be bandits, especially Lu Zhan and Lu Chengzhou, who were from the most senior branch of the Lu family.
He thought for a while. His tone was not too harsh. “If you explain it to clearly, I will go with you. Otherwise, forget it. I will go directly to my good apprentice.”
When Lu Chengzhou heard this, he put down his teacup. He looked rather patient and polite. “I really can’t tell you about it at this mont. You will know when we have so results.”
Song Xian frowned. “You aren’t trying to co up with so special weapon, are you...”
“No,” Lu Chengzhou pondered for a few seconds and answered concisely. “I can only tell you that it has sothing to do with Gu Mang.”
Song Xian’s gaze paused. “Gu Mang?”
“Now that you know it, don’t tell her.” Lu Chengzhou refilled his teacup and lowered his gaze. The expression in his eyes was unclear and hard to predict.
...
At Capital University.
The mont Gu Mang stepped into class, everyone turned to look at her. She scored full marks on all her exams that were of S-Class difficulty. No matter which subject they talked about, she was way more advanced than all of the departnts.
There was quite an uproar on the forum.
A lot of people found out that this junior of theirs was the first chief forensic doctor of the Criminal Division.
This junior kept such a low profile...
Gu Mang did not show any expression on her face. While everyone stared at her, she went to her usual seat which was in the corner of the back row.
Senior Feng sat in front of Gu Mang and smiled. “Congrats, Junior Gu.”
“Thank you,” Gu Mang answered politely.
She twisted the thermal flask that Lu Chengzhou had given to her and took a sip of honey water.
The bell rang. Professor Tang ca in with his bag.
He stood on the podium and looked down. Seeing that Gu Mang was still there, his gaze beca a little cold.
The results of every departnt were released yesterday. Why is Gu Mang still wasting ti here instead of returning to the traditional chinese dicine departnt?
Professor Tang bit his lip and said, “Gu Mang, dical Informatics is not the place for you. Go to the traditional chinese dicine departnt and build up your foundations first. There are no shortcuts in dicine. Be down to earth.”
This was the first ti that Professor Tang had initiated a conversation with Gu Mang.
When he said that, there was a strange silence.
Everyone looked at Professor Tang. Their gazes changed from dazed to strange to complicated, and finally, there was even a hint of sympathy for so reason.
Does Professor Tang not surf the net?
Professor Tang continued, “Leave. Don’t disrupt the lesson.”
