Chapter 482: Chapter 476: Wei Jiani Gets Married
Gu Qing couldn’t help but laugh as he listened to Tang Yuxin’s incessant chatter.
Despite Dr. Tang’s apparent skill in dicine, her youth made her seem sort of eccentric. It was said that she saved a life after the person’s heart had stopped for nearly 40 minutes. Such dical skill reminded him of the divine healers hidden in mountains, it was hard for him to believe that they were perford by an inexperienced girl just out of school.
As for now, that sa doctor who disapprovingly spoke about the tofu not being tasty and the cabbage not being grand enough while wearing a military uniform coupled with a white coat. It was hard for Gu Qing not to view the scene as peculiar.
Tang Yuxin puts her food on the table, and Li Jia scrambles over to take a seat in front of her.
“This is called Pearl Erald and Jade Soup, it’s quite expensive,” Tang Yuxin says as she takes a bite of the tofu in her own bowl. “Don’t be fooled by the tofu; it’s actually made from bird’s nest. And this seemingly regular cabbage is actually sea cucumber wrapped in cabbage leaves.”
She then takes a bite of the cabbage, looking smug – a sight which made Li Jia involuntarily spit out her tea.

“Tang Yuxin, you’re such a dork.”
“Takes one to know one,” retorted Tang Yuxin, who didn’t see anything wrong with her behavior. She saw herself as utterly normal, even more so than anyone else in the world, simply because she had been reborn.
“By the way,” Li Jia wiped away tears of laughter from her eyes.
“Wei Jiani is getting married.”
“Oh…” Tang Yuxin responded nonchalantly as she ate her luxurious soup. It didn’t matter to her who Wei Jiani chose as her husband. In this life, everything had changed; she didn’t have Zhang Yong’an by her side and Wei Jiani wasn’t interested in him either. However, Wei Jiani’s luck wasn’t bad as she had beco a doctor and started mingling with the wealthy.
Li Jia looked around mysteriously before adding in a spooky tone, “Guess who she’s marrying?”
Tang Yuxin took another bite of tofu, “Hmm, who?”
“You know, the guy you did surgery on when you were coughing up blood, what’s his na?” Li Jia stamred, montarily forgetting his na.
“Jin Wenhan?” Tang Yuxin prompted. She was contrary to Li Jia. It wasn’t her who had undergone surgery, but she had perford surgery on him twice.
“Oh yes, that’s him,” Li Jia nodded, “His family’s rich. I wonder how lucky she got to marry him. When will it be my turn?”
Tang Yuxin wasn’t concerned about who Wei Jiani married. She did not know much about his character, but knew for sure that Jin Wenhan’s mother was a strong, wealthy woman with stern decisions. With Wei Jiani’s temperant, their household wouldn’t be a peaceful one. And for a married couple, daily argunts could bring imnse joy.
And sure enough, she had guessed correctly.
Jin’s mother found neither Wei Jiani nor her family appealing. She thought they were tasteless, typical of lower-middle-class people. Nevertheless, she could neither resist her son’s admiration for Wei Jiani nor his use of his own health to threaten her. Reluctantly, she had agreed to their marriage, but found no reason to show favor or respect for Wei Jiani or her family.
Marrying her son didn’t an that Wei Jiani would suddenly beco a phoenix from a chicken; a farr’s goose would never beco a swan. Despite Wei Jiani bending the truth to convince her son that she had saved his life, it was hardly enough to conceal the real identity of his lifesaver. Though compared to the doctor in life-threatening conditions, she preferred Wei Jiani as her son’s bride and could barely maintain her temper.

Because Wei Jiani’s temperant was indeed a bit like her own.
Wei Tian and Sang Zhilan only hoped for their daughter to marry into a good family; they couldn’t dare dream of in-law like the Jin family. Jin’s family owned several large corporations and Jin Wenhan was very obedient to their daughter and respectful to their family. He was the only child with no father, and when his mother was no more, the entire property would pass on to him. Hence everything would belong to their daughter Jiani. Their fear of missing the golden opportunity forced them to reluctantly agree to their not-yet-graduated 21-year-old daughter’s early marriage.
However, Wei Jiani’s choice of husband was ultimately irrelevant to Tang Yuxin.
At that mont, Tang Yuxin alights from a bus. After several days of travel, she was feeling dizzy. She was finally able to stand on her feet but was completely lost.
Having no choice, she flagged down a taxi and told the driver to take her to a specific city.
The taxi driver didn’t say anything and just started driving in the direction she told him. They zigzagged for about an hour before finally arriving at the destination.
Tang Yuxin got out of the car and was greeted by decent-looking high-rises, which made her sigh with relief. She thought to herself, how could Lin Yile possibly live here? The taxi driver had warned her not to live in this city, citing hazardous housing, bad transportation, no shopping malls, and annoying grocery stores.
While on the bus, she was worried that Lin Yile lived in a dangerous brick house.
But she thought that would not be possible as Lin Yile’s family was affluent. Her father was hailed as a capable official and would certainly not let his only daughter live in a risky place.
She felt relieved only when she saw the decent high-rises. She instinctively felt that Lin Yile would live in one of these well-maintained buildings and not in one of the derelict houses in the back with peeling walls and a shaky structure.
