461 Chapter 455: Do You Still Like Him?
He thought his life might end here. However, when he was on the verge of despair, of giving up, the surgery was perford and it was successful.
He could not believe it, could not accept it, but the sensations his body conveyed were entirely different from before. It seed like he was alive. He could live as he did before and in reality, he was alive, he could live for a long ti, alive for a really long ti.
A doctor ca over, conducted an examination, then reviewed his dical record, "Hmm, your recovery is going well. If there are no major problems, you can be discharged in a few days."
Qin Ziye's current condition was indeed very good. His body's functions were gradually recovering, and his physical health improved day by day. With this rate of recovery, he could be discharged within a week. He just needed to co back periodically for check-ups. He should be cautious not to fall ill or catch a cold during the initial stage of recovery.
"I want to ask..." Qin Ziye had always been pondering this question, but it seed that his mother had been withholding it from him, not wanting him to know sothing.
"Yes, go ahead," the doctor replied, smiling warmly.
"That..." Qin Ziye felt his throat ache, possibly because he had eaten too much that day. "What happened to the doctor who donated bone marrow to ?"
"Well, she's fine," the doctor replied while looking over the dical records, "This young girl recovered really well. You should really be thankful to her. If she hadn't donated her bone marrow, you might not have survived. No one expected Qin Ziye to fall severely ill so suddenly. His condition was critical when the bone marrow was just collected. You could say that the bone marrow really saved Qin Ziye's life."
Qin Ziye wanted to et his savior, to thank her in person. But what surprised him was that his lifesaver was a female doctor. He had thought it was a male doctor.
But...
"Is that doctor doing okay?" He asked again in a quieter tone.
"Yes, she's fine," the doctor replied and put down the dical records, "If you want to see her, she's in the ward on the second floor. The doctor who donated her bone marrow to you is our Dr. Xiaotang, nad Tang Yuxin," the doctor continued, "She's the youngest doctor in our hospital. Don't be fooled by her age, her dical skills are excellent. She was headhunted by our hospital from Qing University. Otherwise, she might still be a student preparing for postgraduate studies or she might have been snatched away by other hospitals."
The na Tang Yuxin was like a needle being pierced straight into Qin Ziye's chest. His mouth opened wide, his face instantly turned pale, and his body started to shake.
Tang Yuxin, was it her?
The person who donated bone marrow to him, it was her?
Turns out, he ca here to find her, but he didn't know all this ti.
Why did she co to see him the last ti, and why didn't she say anything? She probably didn't want to save him, but in the end, she saved his life.
Soon after, he stood at the door of the ward the doctor ntioned. At this ti, his throat was dry. He wondered whether it was her or not.
A student from Qing University, just graduated, twenty-one years old.
Who could it be if it's not her? He couldn't believe that so many coincidences could happen in the world. And if it was indeed her, he wanted her to tell him, what kind of feelings she had when she saved his life.
Did she still love him?
Was she still reluctant to let him go?
When he thought about it, his heart began to thump wildly, as if it was about to leap out of his chest.
He laughed bitterly at himself, admitting the truth.
It was clear he hadn't forgotten, he indeed still had feelings, and longed for her.
This was a second chance given by heaven, to not only retrieve his life but also find the person he longed for?
He carefully tidied up his clothes, his nervousness and excitent surpassing even the first ti he t Guan Jing. He felt like a clueless young boy, not knowing what to do.
He sighed and straightened his clothes, which were hospital pajamas, colorless and plain. And then, he touched his bald head, feeling an impulse to go find a hat to wear, or perhaps he should buy a wig to look better.
In the end, though, he placed his hand on the doorknob. He was desperate to see her, and not only because she had saved his life.
Tang Yuxin was leaning against her bedsheets, reading a martial arts novel given to her by Gu Ning. She found reading books and watching TV relaxing, and it was quite enjoyable.
"Co in," she heard the knock on the door, even though she was engrossed in her book.
The door creaked open, but the person entering remained silent for a long ti. She could only hear the uneven rhythm of his breaths, indicating a lack of strength.
An ailnt unattended for a long ti, or perhaps a disease yet to be cured.
She lifted her face and placed the book aside. To her surprise, it was Qin Ziye who had co.
Tang Yuxin was not overly surprised, she knew he would visit one day, to personally thank the person who gave him a second chance at life. Back then, she had pondered what kind of expression he would have upon seeing her, his forr girlfriend.
Incredulity, shock, embarrassnt, or sothing else?
It was only until now that she understood, none of her expressions mattered to him at all.
He looked disbelieving, shocked, and sowhat embarrassed.
Her expression was calm, maybe a little indifferent. Compared to Qin Ziye's excitent and inner turmoil, she seed too detached, or perhaps, her heart was just that cold.
When did it happen that she couldn't find the slightest emotion she once had for him, even the fleeting monts of affection seed to have vanished without a trace.
"Yuxin..." Qin Ziye wobbled his lips. He really felt like things had changed. She had grown up, no longer the youthful girl he rembered, but replacing it was a sense of estrangent in her eyes.
He still rembered the elegance and confidence she had when she was in her white coat a few days ago, nobody could match that.
In that mont, he suddenly felt a sense of loss and didn't know what he had lost. It felt like sothing he wouldn't be able to retrieve for the rest of his life.
