Chapter 424: Chapter 417: Contributing Younger Brother
It was possible that Gu’s mother was truly tired, as she fell asleep shortly after, her complexion still sowhat pale, not the color of soone in good health.
Tang Yuxin walked over and slowed the drip rate. “Uncle Gu, your mother looks so young,” she remarked. After all, she reckoned that Gu Ning’s mother had to be over fifty. “My mother had my brother at sixteen and at twenty. She’s only 47 now,” Gu Ning said carefully, tucking his mother in. “Her health was compromised when she gave birth to my brother. Chengcheng tilted his head, thinking over the proposal before firmly nodding. He stood up and hugged his sister around the neck.

“Such a good boy,” Tang Yuxin ruffled her little brother’s hair, then picked him up. Once they entered the phlebotomy room, brave Chengcheng extended his thin little arm. This poor child had lost so much weight over the past half month that his tiny arm was very thin, thin enough that the nurse hesitated to draw his blood.
Tang Yuxin gently stroked her brother Chengcheng’s head.
Finally, the nurse carefully inserted the needle into Chengcheng’s little arm. Amazingly, he didn’t cry, his little hand holding tight to his sister’s shirt, his tiny fingers tightly clenched.
Chengcheng was so small that they couldn’t draw much blood from him, yet they ended up drawing three large tubes of blood. By the end, Chengcheng had passed out. Tang Yuxin felt sorry for her brother but knew that if they didn’t use Chengcheng’s serum, more people might die. Chengcheng would only suffer a little bit more, and it wouldn’t have a significant impact on his health. But at his tender age, he would be saving many lives.
She believed that his sacrifices would bring him blessings in the future.
Gu Ning held the boy in one arm and opened the door to the ward. The mont Gu’s mother saw the child in his arms, she was thrilled.

Recently, several more patients had been admitted due to snake at consumption. But thanks to the snake gallbladders, their conditions had stabilised quickly. They were now just waiting for the antiviral drug to be developed, and then they would make a full recovery and be able to go ho.
“Chengcheng, will aunty take you to eat at later, okay?” Gu Ning’s mother doted on children, especially the young ones like Chengcheng. All he needed was to eat more food and regain his strength.
