After Bai Tao left, Feng Fan handed the herbs from Long Liu over to Tan Wei. Upon examining them, Tan Wei identified the plants as Soul Calming Mints. They could be used as ingredients to concoct Heart Demon Protection Pills and Soul Healing Pills. Naturally, he chose to create the latter, which suited Feng Fan's current needs.

As Tan Wei began his alchemy, Feng Fan observed with a strange expression. It didn't look like alchemy at all—in fact, it looked more like soone cooking a particularly delicate dish. Eventually, he grew bored of watching and decided to put his ti to better use.

Stepping outside, he began constructing a tier 8 array around Tan Wei's residence.

His goal was simple: create a small formation to concentrate spiritual qi in the area. Given the vast reserves of spiritual qi he had at his disposal, he didn't mind using so up if it ant accelerating his cultivation.

By the ti Tan Wei finished refining a hundred tier 5 Soul Healing Pills, Feng Fan had completed his array. A wave of dense spiritual qi surged inside Tan Wei's quarters.

Tan Wei's eyes widened. "Brother Feng, did you set up a qi-gathering array here?"

Feng Fan nodded. "I need to increase my cultivation speed as much as possible," he said, taking the pills from Tan Wei's hands.

Then, he rembered sothing important and added, "Brother Tan, have you considered joining the challenge against the Obsidian Court? Since they specialize in poison, your alchemy skills would be incredibly valuable."

Tan Wei agreed without hesitation. "You're right. I'd be happy to help."

"Great. When the ti cos, I'll bring you to the Dao Seeking School. I'm sure Elder Long will be pleased with your addition," Feng Fan replied.

With everything settled, Feng Fan sat cross-legged on the ground and placed a Soul Healing Pill into his mouth, beginning his cultivation in earnest. Tan Wei joined him shortly after. Since the array Feng Fan placed had increased the concentration of spiritual qi within the room, it would benefit his own cultivation as well.

The pill dissolved on Feng Fan's tongue and he imdiately noticed the difference. Unlike the raw herb, the processed pill no longer moved on its own toward the soul. Instead, its potent energy remained dormant, waiting to be directed. Feng Fan sent a thread of spiritual qi to wrap around the dicinal energy and carefully guided it toward his soul.

When the healing energy finally touched his soul, it felt like a warm embrace—soothing, gentle, and almost addictive in its comfort. It would have been easy to relax, to let the energy spread on its own. But that would've ant letting so of it dissipate uselessly.

Feng Fan ignored the temptation and remained focused, using his spiritual qi to guide every bit of the pill's power precisely where it was needed. Compared to the unprocessed Soul Calming Mint, the Soul Healing Pill was at least ten tis more effective—if properly guided. Had he simply let it act on its own, it would've offered only a fraction of its potential.

But Feng Fan couldn't afford to waste anything right now. Even though he had access to plenty of Soul Calming Mints, ti was the most precious resource.

When the dicinal energy of the pill finally faded, he estimated his soul to be roughly fifty percent healed. Two or three more pills would likely be enough to complete the recovery. Once that was done, all he needed was to absorb spiritual qi and sever his soul again. With his soul split into three parts, he would officially step into the second stage of the Spirit Severing realm.

As if they were pieces of candy, Feng Fan tossed two Soul Healing Pills into his mouth. The mont they dissolved, he wasted no ti channeling the dicinal energy toward his soul. The cycle repeated—he steeled himself against the soothing sensations, refusing to lose focus, and thodically guided the healing energy to the most damaged parts of his soul.

After the second pair of pills, he sensed his soul was about ninety percent healed. He took a fourth pill. This ti, the restoration was complete. His soul was whole once more, and he was ready to begin the soul-dividing process again.

Before drawing in spiritual qi, Feng Fan checked the date. To his surprise, a full week had passed since he began cultivating with the Soul Healing Pills. The process had taken longer than he expected.

'If soone had told that an impatient, restless guy like would sit cross-legged for an entire week without barely moving, I would've slapped them and called them insane,' Feng Fan thought, a smug smile tugging at his lips. 'Turns out, I really am a born cultivator!'

He retrieved the Suppression Relic from his space ring and placed it on his lap. "Little Brick, I'm counting on you. Flood with every drop of spiritual qi you've got stored!"

The relic responded with a low hum, and a torrent of spiritual qi surged into Feng Fan's body. He closed his eyes and slipped into cultivation. The qi released by Little Brick was so pure it bypassed the usual purification step required by the Heaven's Suppression Technique; he could absorb it directly.

His absorption rate had increased so much that, even while drawing power from the Suppression Relic, he could simultaneously pull spiritual qi from the atmosphere. That required only minimal refinent before it, too, flowed smoothly into his body.

With each breath, his soul strengthened, and his body grew sturdier and more refined. His blood surged like a river, rushing through his veins and strengthening them.

Four months slipped by in tranquil silence, broken only by the occasional whisper of wind or the faint hum of circulating spiritual qi. Within the bounds of the array, Tan Wei and Feng Fan cultivated without pause, each focused entirely on their own path to power.

Feng Fan opened his eyes. They glead with brilliance, like twin stars cutting through the stillness. A slow smile stretched across his face.

"I've finally reached the peak of the first stage," he murmured, his voice quiet, yet filled with emotion. "Just one more step... and I can break through to the second stage of the Spirit Severing realm."
