"Yes, Mr. Qin. Are you available to honor with your presence for a cup of tea?"
Du Zhong actually sounded quite polite.
"Um... sure."
Qin Yu's mind turned slightly, and he agreed.
As a divine doctor, Du Zhong was also a celebrity in Jinling, while in the eyes of most people, he was just a nobody. If he was asking him out for tea, there must be so purpose behind it.
"In that case, Mr. Qin, I await the pleasure of your company at Yunwu Pavilion!"
Du Zhong's voice beca even more courteous.
"Alright, I'll be there shortly!"
After putting down his phone, Qin Yu blinked. He had never t Du Zhong before, so what could he want with him?
"Brother, you have sothing to do? Then I'll call Zhiheng to co pick up!"
Qin Wei'er said considerately.
"Okay, if there's any danger, call imdiately!"
Qin Yu repeated his instructions with concern.
"I know, brother!"
Qin Wei'er tugged at Qin Yu's hand and said coquettishly.
"Hehe..."
Qin Yu patted his sister's head; with high-heeled boots, she was nearly as tall as himself.
Afterward, the siblings continued to stroll for a while before Du Zhiheng and his driver arrived in a Bentley.
After getting out of the car, he greeted them warmly, then gallantly opened the car door. Once Qin Wei'er was seated, he turned to Qin Yu and said, "Brother, I just went ho and spoke with my family, and no one objects. It looks like Wei'er and I could get married before the New Year. How about my parents co out tomorrow, and we all have a al together to discuss this?"
"I'm not sure if I'm free tomorrow; let's talk about this later. Wei'er is still young; there's no rush to get married!"
Qin Yu always felt that Du Zhiheng was in a hurry to marry his sister and suspected there was sothing fishy about it. It was best to delay the agreent and see how the Du Family would react.
"Alright, brother, then Wei'er and I will be going first!"
Du Zhiheng didn't say much else but as he turned away, a flicker of annoyance passed through his eyes, well-concealed and almost imperceptible.
"Bye, brother!"
Qin Wei'er waved her slender arm from inside the car.
"Mm, take it slow on the road!"
Qin Yu nodded and after the Bentley was out of sight, he hailed a cab and got in.
With his eyes lightly closed, his mind was churning: what was Du Zhiheng's real intention in hurrying to marry his sister?
To say that his family was pressing him didn't make sense. Du Zhiheng should be in his thirties by now. If his family hadn't been urging him before, why start after eting his sister?
The remaining possibility was that he coveted his sister's beauty. Previously, he only knew that his sister was adopted by his parents but who could have imagined that she was actually the pearl of the Capital City's Qin Family?
Her genetics didn't need ntioning; standing at a neat height of 175 centiters, she had a slender waist and long legs, with an exceptionally exquisite face. If she had really grown up in a grand family like the Qin Family in Capital City, she would definitely be a top-tier beauty with wealth.
Moreover, with her conservative nature, she surely wouldn't have relations with Du Zhiheng before marriage, and this might be why he was eager to marry her. That explanation was sowhat plausible.
However, marrying soone she had known for less than half a month seed too hasty, and what if the marriage turned out to be unhappy?
So, from any perspective, Qin Yu would not agree to let his sister marry Du Zhiheng before the New Year.
Half an hour later.
The taxi pulled up in front of Yunwu Pavilion teahouse.
It was utterly quiet, without a single car in sight at the entrance.
There were, however, two young n dressed in Tang suits glancing around as if they were waiting for soone.
Upon seeing Qin Yu alight from the taxi, they imdiately approached him respectfully and said, "You are Mr. Qin, right? My master is waiting upstairs. He has been in poor health recently and couldn't co down to greet you himself. Please accept our apologies!"
"You're too polite, Divine Doctor Du!"
Qin Yu waved his hand, more puzzled by what Divine Doctor Du was implying with such a courteous approach.
In Jinling, his reputation and status were known to every household, deeply respected. And on the surface, he was just a minor bodyguard for the boss—wasn't Divine Doctor Du being a little too courteous?
There's sothing fishy when things are out of the ordinary!
Qin Yu slightly narrowed his eyes and then followed the two young n in Tang suits upstairs.
Inside, the place was adorned with dragon and phoenix carvings, and antiques and calligraphy hung on the walls—clearly a high-end teahouse—but not a single custor was in sight. Divine Doctor Du must have booked the entire place.
In Jinling, he certainly had the clout and capability to do so.
Soon, Qin Yu followed the two young n in Tang suits to the second floor.
"Cough cough... Mr. Qin!"
Dressed in a black Tang suit, with ticulously combed silver hair, Du Zhong, leaning on a cane, hurried to stand up, but his body swayed, and he could only offer a wry smile: "Hehe, I'm sorry, Mr. Qin. I am plagued by illness and cannot rise to greet you!"
"It's fine, Divine Doctor Du. As a younger and lesser-known individual, having the opportunity to have tea with you is my honor," Qin Yu said humbly.
If it weren't for his status as the Dragon Gate Leader, with just Yan Mingyu's bodyguard identity, he really wouldn't have the qualifications to have tea with soone as famous as Du Zhong in Jinling.
"You may leave now!"
Du Zhong gestured to dismiss the two disciples and poured a cup of tea for Qin Yu before pleading with a desperate expression: "Mr. Qin, please save my life!"
"Oh, Divine Doctor Du, what do you an? I don't quite understand," said Qin Yu, holding his tea cup and asking calmly.
"Mr. Qin, to be honest, I noticed you last ti at Miss Phoenix's auction where the Red Crystal was sold. You could tell just with your eyes that Miss Phoenix wouldn't live much longer, proving not only that you possess dical skills but that they are highly adept.
I also took Miss Phoenix's pulse back then, she supposedly wouldn't have survived to the next day, yet she left Jinling in good condition, which ans that soone must have saved her with profound dical skills, and that person is you, Mr. Qin!"
Du Zhong patiently explained.
"Hehe... Divine Doctor Du, you're giving too much credit. If I were as capable as you say, would I still be working as a bodyguard?"
Qin Yu laughed, not admitting that he was the one who had saved Phoenix.
For one thing, his grandfather had cautioned him not to use the Peach Blossom Nine Needles lightly. Moreover, on the night Zhao Qilin had kidnapped him to Phoenix's manor as a scapegoat, it was said that Divine Doctor Du had inford Zhao Qilin that Phoenix's ridians were blocked, preventing her from using her internal energy—effectively betraying Phoenix. Qin Yu wouldn't want to save soone like that even if he could.
"Mr. Qin... well, if you're willing to save my life, I will give you my Great Restoration Pill, and on top of that, ten billion in cash," Du Zhong persisted, convinced that Qin Yu was a master of dicine, and threw out a tempting offer.
"I'm sorry, but I really don't know any dical skills. When I said at the chambers of comrce event that Miss Phoenix was going to die, I was just talking nonsense. You must have seen how Miss Phoenix gave a good beating," Qin Yu declined, still tactfully.
Having betrayed Phoenix, if he were to save Divine Doctor Du, it would be tantamount to becoming enemies with Phoenix. He had just managed to establish a connection with her and couldn't afford to turn into her enemy at the drop of a hat.
"Mr. Qin..."
Divine Doctor Du beca desperate, and, leaning on the chair, he started trembling as he attempted to kneel before Qin Yu: "I beg you, save my life!"
