The group had decided to have a nice evening al just before leaving Centerfield. It was a ti for them to relax and explore a new place a little. On top of that, Kai had suggested it, feeling it was safer for them compared to other areas. Being in the open public in a place like Centerfield, the gangs would surely be less likely to act.
“So, we were attacked by a gang. What for?” Gary asked, as he finished his third serving of steak and went ahead to order a fourth one. Gone were the days where Gary had to worry about food anymore. He was eating plentifully to keep his energy up day by day.
The thing was, it wasn’t just Gary who was a big eater. Austin, being a large guy, and Kai, being a werewolf himself, were the sa.
“That I’m still not sure about. I didn’t exactly get much information out of them. I doubt it’s a random occurrence, but at the sa ti, I feel like if they knew who we were, they wouldn’t have sent such weak mbers out to get us. Which is why I’m a bit stumped on this one,” Kai said.
The waiter ca back empty-handed with a concerned look on his face as he looked at the three individuals.
“Did you run out of food?” Gary asked.
“It’s not that, but the amount you three have ordered is quite excessive. And forgive for saying this, but the three of you are quite young as well,” the waiter claid.
“I see where this is going. In a place like Centerfield, I didn’t think this would happen, but you can pre-charge the card if you want,” Kai said as he took out his wallet, handing over a black card.
“Certainly, your food will be out fairly quickly once everything is verified,” the waiter said.
“I don’t know how you don’t get angry at that,” Gary said as he watched the man walk away.
“People are hurt, it’s fine. No need to make a big deal out of a problem that can easily be solved. The issue I have is still this Cluster Gang,” Kai replied. “I looked them up and got so information about them. I’ve asked for further things to move along and hopefully deal with the whole ss behind the scenes before it becos a bigger thing as well.”
“Right, right,” Gary replied. “Deal with things differently instead of using our fists. I understand.”
Just then, the food ca over, with three large plates of food in their hands, all being delivered to the table. With how large the orders were, they had attracted quite a bit of attention in the restaurant, but that didn’t stop the three of them from not holding back.
After finishing the al and exiting the restaurant, the night sky was now out, and the three of them figured it was ti for them to leave Centerfield.
“I can safely say, I hope we never co back here again,” Kai stated as they got in the taxi and headed off to the train station.
As they got their tickets, they looked at the board and decided to head to the platform where their train would appear.
They walked down the staircase and were now on the long, winding platform, waiting for their train to arrive. It still had another fifteen minutes before the train would even get there.
“It’s strange again,” Kai said.
“Yeah, even I’ve noticed it this ti,” Gary replied.
“What? What?” Austin asked. “Are there more people here again? I don’t have a nose like you guys, so I can’t tell if they’re hiding.”
“No, it’s not that,” Gary said. “There’s no one on our platform.”
“This train has three major cities as stops between here and Centerfield. I doubt we would be the only ones heading back, but there’s not even a worker here, which has got worried,” Kai stated.
Gary was wondering if they should make a move and try to find another way to head back to Slough, and that was when his sensitive ears picked up on sothing, and it was the sa for Kai.
“Can you hear that?” Gary asked.
“Yep, and there’s a large number of them as well.” Kai pulled out his phone from his inner jacket and started typing away.
Soon, though, all of them could hear the sound of footsteps as they saw a rush of people walking down the staircase.

They didn’t co charging in for the attack, though. Instead, they stood to the side as they made way for a certain pot-bellied man who continued to walk down the staircase.
He was confident, with a smug smile on his face, and eventually reached the platform floor.
“What a sight, right? After you broke out of that little jail cell, you thought you had gotten away with offending scot-free. But here I am, in the place you least expected, and right at the end, just before you get to go ho!”
The man in question was soone all three of them had seen before; it was Sir Ken. The man they had t on the train ride on the way here.
“It wasn’t hard for to guess that if you ca here by train, you would be leaving by train, and then just having soone call when they spotted you. I have many contacts in this town, and it was simple for to get this group here in front of you.
“This whole place was cleared just for you. This is what power can help you attain, this is what power grants you, and you will deeply regret trying to get in my way, boy!”
