The initial shockwave from the first powerful clash had disrupted the battlefield, but only for a fleeting mont. As soon as the Gluttons regained their footing, they lunged back into the fray with renewed ferocity, continuing their desperate struggle against the rest of the Howlers.

Most of the mbers had abandoned their vehicles by now, fighting at full force in a chaotic swirl of fur and steel. However, the true eye of the storm, the confrontation that would decide the fate of their world, was happening slightly up ahead.

“It seems all of you have managed to gain quite a bit of power in such a short amount of ti,” Unzoku said, his voice a low, grating rumble that carried over the sounds of war.

Gary didn't wait for him to finish his sentence. He had heard enough of Unzoku’s arrogance and didn't care for his observations; his only focus was to bring this monster down once and for all. Without a word, Gary rushed forward, his boots cracking the pavent with every explosive stride.

In response, Unzoku swung his massive arms. His deadly claws, shrouded in a volatile mixture of raw energy and thick red mist, whistled through the air. Gary twirled his warhamr in a blurring defensive arc, and just as the claws reached striking distance, he pivoted and swung with everything he had. The hamr smashed right through the claw strikes, and a concentrated blast of energy erupted from the head of the weapon, hitting Unzoku squarely on the shoulder.

The blow was imnsely strong, jolting Unzoku’s massive fra, but it still hadn't quite moved him from his spot.

“Annoying,” Unzoku comnted, his eyes narrowed. He began to lift his hand to retaliate until several sharp lines of energy slamd into his arm in rapid succession. As they hit, they shattered against his hardened skin, but they left behind a growing layer of frost that slightly slowed his movents.

He turned his head and saw the source: Kai. The other Alpha was wielding his new swords, using them to channel his energy into projectile strikes that functioned similarly to a claw strike, it was an active skill of the weapon, but it also carried the biting chill of his elental traits. It was a perfect tactical distraction.

“This ice... it’s reminding of him. You are quite annoying as well!” Unzoku roared. He lifted his foot and slamd it down, causing a tunnel of red energy to surge over the surface of his body. The sheer pressure of the aura shattered the ice and instantly halted the freezing process on his arm.

As Gary closed the distance again, Unzoku clenched a fist and threw it out. A powerful strike, amplified by a wave of red mist energy, slamd into Gary. It ca out so fast that Gary could only hoist his hamr in a desperate defensive stance. When the power connected, he was sent skidding back across the floor, his boots carving deep lines into the ground.

“You... although it seems like sothing has happened to the others to suppress my control, you are not the sa as them!” Unzoku said, pointing his arm toward Kai. The red mist began to travel toward the Alpha, seeking to invade his mind and bind his will.

However, as the mist drew close to Kai, it was suddenly pushed back by an invisible force, as if sothing within him was violently rejecting the progenitor’s influence.

“Are you surprised?” Kai asked with a grim smile. “Did you think we ca here ready to fight you without a plan? You are going to lose, Unzoku, just like you did all those years ago.”

Unzoku was montarily startled, finding himself at a loss for words. He couldn't understand how all of them were rejecting his core powers, but as he focused his senses, he detected sothing ominous. There was a foreign energy emanating from Kai, specifically from right underneath his chest armor and the energy was reaching him, it wasn’t as if this energy was being used as a barrier it was more so forcing it to retract back into Unzoku’s body, but this force, it was sothing Unzoku had felt once before.

That was because Kai was wearing the dallion, and since the start of the engagent, he had kept it active. While traveling in the convoy, Kai had been deeply worried about the chanics of the artifact. He had thought back to how Bliss had helped Steve use the dallion in the past. She had twisted it and practically embedded it into his skin, telling him to focus entirely on the connection between the two of them to activate its power.

Kai had discovered that as long as an individual possessed extre focus, they could use the dallion to suppress Unzoku’s ntal reach. Focusing on the connection through the dallion it was as if a tug of war was going on with the powers. However, it was clear that the power of the dallion had weakened significantly since it had been damaged during the fight with Midwak. They needed to use it from the very beginning of the encounter to ensure neither he nor Gary fell under Unzoku’s control.

Back then, it seed the user had to stay stationary to focus on the artifact's suppression. But Kai was confident in his own ntal fortitude. He believed that if soone possessed enough focus and could multitask their intent, they could still fight while maintaining the rejection of his powers, controlling the will. Having literally frozen the dallion onto his chest to ensure it remained in constant contact with his body, Kai was successfully fighting and supporting Gary while stopping Unzoku’s control powers from taking root.

“If I get rid of you first, then this damned force will be gone, right!” Unzoku scread. He charged toward Kai, moving with the speed of a predator, until a sudden weight ca down like a rocket of flas. Gary slamd his hamr onto Unzoku’s reaching arm, pinning it to the ground as an explosion of Shadow Ash fire erupted.

Gary stood over Unzoku, fully transford into his Shadow Ash Lycan form, his eyes burning with an intense, dark fla.

“I know we’re going to have to use everything we have to kill you,” Gary claid, his voice a deep, guttural growl. “And we're prepared to do exactly that.”
