The Glutton Werewolves were still pouring into the street from several different directions, but the pack being out in the open was actually working out much better for them tactically.

Austin, fully shifted into his towering Minotaur form, roared as he dug his hooves into the asphalt. He reached down, grabbed the undercarriage of a rusted sedan, and lifted the entire vehicle over his head. Swinging the heavy car like a makeshift club, he slamd it directly into the body of a charging Glutton, sending the beast tumbling backward and crashing through a pile of abandoned vehicles.

Since Austin knew from their previous brutal encounters that the Gluttons would inevitably try to get back up, he didn't give it a chance to breathe. He aggressively pushed the ruined car further forward, using his imnse weight to pin the struggling beast against another chassis, completely crushing its body beneath the crushed tal.

However, the one who was undeniably doing the most work was Luzen. From his elevated vantage point, the archer could survey and control almost the entire battlefield.

He stood perfectly balanced on top of a delivery truck. Whenever he spotted a few stray Gluttons getting distracted by the scent of the civilians hiding inside the storefronts, Luzen acted. He would rapidly draw and loose several almost invisible, high-tension arrows. He specifically aid for their snouts, burying the shafts into their sensitive noses to inflict sharp pain and successfully draw their feral attention away from the shops.

Then, the mont the infuriated beasts turned and charged toward his truck, Luzen would rcilessly fire several more arrows directly into their kneecaps and joints. He struck them with such terrifying precision that the shredded flesh and shattered bone forced the monsters to collapse into the street. Now crippled and unable to run, they were easy targets for Kai and Marie to quickly finish off on the ground level.

anwhile, Gary was fluidly moving through the chaos, actively looking for where his friends needed the most help. That was exactly when he saw Innu pinned down and struggling against the highly unique, mutating Glutton.

Dropping in from the roof of a car, Gary brought his heavy hamr crashing down directly onto the beast's entangled arm, pulverizing whatever dense bones were even present in the creature's limb to begin with.

Instead of howling in pain, the creature did sothing terrifying. It forcefully twisted its shoulder and intentionally snapped off its own ruined limb to free itself. Almost instantly, the flesh began to bubble, and a perfectly intact new arm started to rapidly regrow from the stump.

Without missing a beat, the Glutton extended its other arm, attempting to strike Gary. Just as it had done against Innu, its fingers bizarrely split apart into twisting, wooden-like tendrils.

Yet, Gary didn’t show a single ounce of fear. He channeled his energy, spun the heavy hamr with practiced ease, and aid perfectly for the most central, thickest part of the incoming limb. As the steel head connected, a deafening BANG echoed across the street, and visible shockwaves rippled through the air.

The heavy impact completely tore the arm off, and the split tendrils seed to practically explode into a shower of splinters and dark blood. But the Glutton was absolutely relentless. Utilizing its freshly regrown arm, it lunged forward and struck again.

Gary pivoted on his heel, using the montum of his previous swing to bring the hamr around his side. He slamd the weapon into the bulk of the creature's incoming bicep. This ti, he released a concentrated burst of Qi. It was almost as if the raw, destructive energy of the attack bypassed the skin and traveled directly through the internal structure of the creature.

The beast's arm began rapidly bulging, the pressure building instantly until—right at the shoulder where the limb connected to the torso—the entire appendage detonated, heavily splattering the asphalt.

The Glutton finally flinched, completely thrown off balance. Before it could even process the damage, Gary was already there. He stepped into the beast's guard and swung his hamr upward in a devastating arc, hitting it squarely in the stomach. The imnse kinetic force shattered the creature's torso, sending its remaining limbs and shattered ribcage flying in different directions across the street.

‘I knew Gary had improved a lot... especially when I saw him fighting back in the underground parking lot,’ Innu thought, watching the sheer devastation in awe. ‘But to improve this much? He really knows how to wield that weapon now. And those explosive attacks just now... I think he’s actually managed to master his Qi to a frightening level.’

Innu's observation was entirely correct. Gary had trained non-stop on exactly how to wield the heavy hamr properly during his grueling ti in the old world. Now, by seamlessly infusing his refined Qi into the tal, he could truly draw out its destructive power and utilize the hamr as a devastating extension of his own body, unlike his clumsy swings in the past.

The main reason why Gary had focused so intensely on mastering this specific weapon was because he realized exactly how much stronger and more self-reliant it could make him.

Gary possessed his special Golden Dragon form, but that ultimate state had strict limitations and only lasted for a very short, specific amount of ti. He couldn't safely rely on that in a prolonged war. He also possessed his True Alpha form, but Gary notoriously lost his sense of self in that feral state and absolutely needed Xin's calming presence with him to safely activate it.

So, how was Gary ant to get permanently stronger and protect his pack without relying on those conditional trump cards? The definitive answer was the hamr.

Not only had Gary learned how to master the weapon in his human state, but he had also learned exactly how to swing it efficiently while fully transford. Combined with the advanced Qi techniques he had absorbed, Gary had beco a far more formidable, well-rounded fighter than anyone could have ever imagined.

“Alright, let’s get these civilians safely dropped off at the shelter,” Gary said, a confident smile crossing his face as he rested the hamr on his shoulder. “Then we go straight after Midwak. And after we finish him... we’ll take Unzoku down for good.”

Miles away from the chaotic civilian escort, the three ancient vampires walked casually across a desolate, open concrete path.

Looming ominously in front of them was their target: the massive, fortified gate of the old White Rose base. Half of the original, towering structure had been completely destroyed, while the other half was left stubbornly standing. The gaping holes in the periter wall had rely been patched up with crude, temporary tal barricades, making it incredibly easy for the lethal trio to breach.

“Let’s finish this tedious job and report back to the others,” Jin said coldly, adjusting his collar as he looked at the rusted tal. He then turned his gaze toward his most aggressive companion. “And Rowa... now that we are finally without the Howlers constantly watching our every move... I fully expect you to go all out.”
