In several areas across Ruin City, the general public was beginning to worry.

The tremors were impossible to ignore. They could feel the vibrations running through their floors, hear distant crashes echoing like collapsing buildings. It was as if heavy machinery had tipped over or construction sites had exploded. In so places, glass shattered without warning, windows rattled violently, as though a violent storm was raging just beyond the walls.

Curious and anxious, many residents reached for their phones. They wanted answers, news, social dia updates, sothing.

But that's when they realized sothing even more unsettling.

No signal.

Their phones couldn't make calls or access the internet. Only a few ergency ssages were able to push through. The internet was down, their communications blocked. To the citizens of Ruin City, it was as if the world outside had vanished.

What they didn't know… was that it had been intentional.

Lupus had already acted. Long before the chaos erupted, he'd taken asures, locking down every entry point into the city. No one was allowed in, and no information was allowed out. The walls were up, and Ruin City was isolated.

Still, the curiosity of the people couldn't be fully contained.

So wandered out into the streets, attempting to capture what was happening. They held their phones up high, trying to record from alleyways or rooftops, hoping to catch even a glimpse of what had caused the city to rumble.

Thankfully, much of the chaos had been kept contained within the Garden District. Most residents hadn't seen the worst of it.

Yet.

As the sun began to rise, casting a pale glow across the skyline, more people began stirring, either heading to work or returning from long shifts. But all of them were t with a ssage that had been broadcast citywide.

A chilling ssage.

[ALERT]

Altered Hunters have entered the city and are conducting a wide-scale operation.

All citizens are advised to remain indoors.

For your safety, do not venture outside.

The Altered Hunters are an extremist group. Stay indoors.

Even though the public's view of Altereds varied wildly, the sa couldn't be said for the Altered Hunters. Across most news channels, they had been painted in a dark, threatening light.

Whether it was due to fear, sensationalism, or paid influence by powerful corporations, the image was consistent, Altered Hunters were dangerous. Ruthless. Unpredictable.

Stories of them crossing the line, of using innocent lives as collateral to achieve their missions, it was enough to keep most people locked behind closed doors.

But that didn't stop them from watching.

From the safety of their apartnts, so peeked through windows. Others recorded what they could, zooming in on rooftops and open areas.

They saw figures leaping massive distances, traveling impossibly fast, engaging in combat that defied logic.

And then… so managed to glimpse the fight at the parking structure. Phones zood in shakily. Eyes widened.

They saw the unmistakable uniforms of the Altered Hunters, proof that the citywide alerts were telling the truth.

And many were now bearing witness to the one figure they'd only heard rumors about.

Lupus.

To the general public, he was a mystery, a shadow whispered about in political and corporate circles. But for those in positions of power, those involved in the real control of Ruin City, Lupus was no secret. He was a key player, the figure working behind the scenes.

And now, there he was, on cara.

One poor soul, filming from his high-rise apartnt, was trying to docunt the impossible. He had his phone trained on the destruction, only to suddenly see Lupus's body hurtling through the air, crashing through buildings like a wrecking ball.

And then, he was coming straight for him.

The apartnt building began to quake. Cracks ford along the floor. The ceiling groaned, then buckled.

His footage cut to black.

In a battle of this magnitude, it was inevitable. No matter how careful they tried to be, casualties would happen.

Lupus opened his eyes slowly.

Everything was dark.

Rubble pressed down against his body, but to soone like him, it felt like nothing more than feathers. With a simple motion, he lifted himself up, pushing through the debris with ease.

He rose from the wreckage, dust and ash swirling around him, and looked around.

He had crashed straight through a residential apartnt building. His eyes scanned the area, and he saw them.

Bodies. So crushed by debris. Others motionless. Victims of the collapse.

They had been innocent.

They hadn't chosen this battlefield.

"You speak of protecting the people," Lupus muttered under his breath, his voice heavy with anger. "You talk about getting rid of us—for the harm we cause…"

His eyes narrowed.

"Yet you treat the people like this?"

He turned his neck sharply, a loud crack echoing through the air. Then to the other side, another crack.

Looking down at his chest, he saw the imprint left behind by Edvard's punch, a burned marking that still pulsed faintly.

"So this is it," he said quietly. "It's clear now. The vampires aren't just opposing . They're trying to eliminate completely."

He exhaled slowly, his breath thick with rage.

"They've already wiped out most of the Ironfangs. It would be easier… if Ylva were here. But it looks like I'll have to handle this myself."

Lifting his head, energy began to swirl around Lupus's entire body. It coiled at his feet and climbed upward, spiraling around him like a living serpent. It shimred, then glowed, forming into a massive phantom figure.

A werewolf, pure energy, massive and monstrous, towering behind him like a guardian of destruction.

Then Lupus opened his mouth, eyes glowing bright crimson.

And he howled.

"AWHOOOOOO!"

The sound tore through the city.

It shook the windows. It cracked the skies. There wasn't a single corner of Ruin City where the sound didn't reach.

And every werewolf, every single one still in the city, felt it.

Their blood burned. Their muscles surged. Sothing inside them ignited, like a fla being lit in their very souls.

Even far away, unconscious and crumpled on a rooftop, Ylva stirred.

Her eyes opened. The outer rim of her irises glowed faintly.

"That's Lupus…" she whispered. Her body trembled as she forced herself to sit up. "If he's… howling like that… then he might need ."

She clenched her fists and pushed herself to her feet.

"I'm coming, Lupus."
