The sun was starting to set which ant it was ti for all of the Altered Hunters to move. They had already travelled close by and were near Ruin City.
It would take them 30 minutes by vehicle to enter the city. As the group made their way to the road, Gary and the others were surprised to see several large trucks piled up.
"We aren't taking the motorbikes?" Austin asked.
"All fifty of us riding into the city together. It would defeat the purpose of going in at night. We might as well hold up a sign saying we're Altered Hunters," Kim said sarcastically.
"The bikes will be loaded up into the trucks. Hundreds of trucks go in and out of the city all the ti for deliveries," Blackjack explained. "The bikes and us, will be on board. We'll probably all get off at the sa point, a supermarket or sothing along those lines."
They did as told and travelled in through the back, the door closed behind and they could feel the whole truck moving.
It felt like they were on a secret spy mission, sure Gary was used to wearing disguises and doing sneaky things but this level of operation and preparation was sothing he never could do.
"Your heart's beating fast," Blackjack comnted sitting on the cold flooring of the truck. "You worried?"
"We're going into Ruin City so I can't say I'm exactly calm. The whole thing feels strange to . I've never even t Lupus before," Gary answered.
In the middle of their talk Kai had handed out a bottle to Gary. He sprayed it on himself and then Gary did the sa thing.
Instantly Blackjack and Kim could tell what the bottles did. There was no point hiding it, as the two would find out being close to them the entire ti.
"You must have so smart people helping you out," Blackjack comnted. "But it will help hopefully you won't have to transform and maybe you'll never have to et Lupus directly."
Although that might have been the case there was one more thing Gary wanted to do while in Ruin City, he wanted to check up on Blake and Innu which wasn't part of the direct mission.
"About that… which crate has the special equipnt in it?" Kai asked, gesturing to the crates filled with equipnt.
"It's not this truck," Blackjack answered. "I'm sure they already told you but we can only do so much on our end, the settlent that is. 7 trucks each with three stripes on top. All of them are unique in pattern and how they're drawn. The three stripes going horizontally across the top and red in colour that's the one with the important package inside."
"We need to keep track of that. The less we know and the Altered Hunters know the less that Lupus and his group will know as well. Deliver it, make sure it's safe and Edvard will deal with the rest," Blackjack explained.
Waiting inside the back of the truck was a little torturous for Gary. Without a window without seeing the city lights they were sneaking into another area.
At any mont they could get caught or have to fight and they had no idea what was happening on the outside.
Eventually the engine of the vehicle had co to a stop. They waited until the back door was lifted and a man stood there.
"We're here, everyone deload!" The man shouted.
Just as Blackjack had suspected the seven trucks had pulled up at the back of a large supermarket which was already shut.
Gary did wonder how they got access to such places, if it was the vampire influence or Altered Hunters who could have gotten here before they arrived.
When Saiber got off just like before, Trixie and Pluto were by his side.
"Alright everyone, we will be splitting up into three groups!" Saiber shouted. "The trucks as well as ourselves will be travelling to three Botanic Gardens. It is assud that the enemy is waiting for us. We need to be swift in taking them out."
"Once a garden has been cleared, there will be further orders from there. So make sure all of you are on high alert."
To the Altered Hunters the trucks were just there to deliver their weapon and equipnt, although Saiber and the others knew a little more about the importance of one of the crates.
"First group will be travelling with Trixie!" Saiber shouted and started to call out numbers.
The hunters all knew their numbers within the organisation whereas the higher skilled ones went by na.
"Kim and the blonde apprentice, you're with her!" Saiber added.
Initially Blackjack wanted to complain about Saiber splitting up his apprentices, he knew he would make up so excuse about putting those best together and making each group equal in power. It might have even been true but it was the best situation for them, as it ant soone would be with the important package.
At the sa ti they were splitting up the five star hunters as well, so it was quite possible that Saiber wasn't including his own egotistic nature in this and was doing things properly.
"Next up travelling with Pluto!" Saiber called out the nas again until he said two more nas. "Blackjack and the big guy, you two together, and Blackjack don't ss up this ti, there can be no excuses."
Although Blackjack had used so of his various powers on Saiber it appeared there was still so resentnt in there. Things weren't perfect between the two of them, just more fixed.
With all the nas called out though Gary had figured out who he was to be with.
"As for you amateur," Saiber called out to him. "You're coming with , I need to keep an eye on you and make sure you don't ss up."
With this the three would be split up but working together in Ruin City. They would et up again.
"Let's get moving to the Gardens!"
