"This whole situation seems to have turned into quite a disaster if I do say so myself," Edvard claid as he sat inside an older establishnt.
It was what was known as a pub. The floors were carpeted while there was one counter to serve drinks.
And there were nurous tables that were laid out through the area.
The sun was shining through the windows, so there were a few people grabbing breakfast and getting a drink here or there.
Whereas for Edvard who was sat down wearing his sunglasses right up by the window, he had four empty pint glasses laid out.
"And is that why you have decided to drink first thing in the morning?" Donald comnted who was sat opposite him. "I knew the situation was bad but I didn't think it was that bad to the point where our head of operations would be trying to get drunk first thing in the morning."
Just as he finished his sentence, a waiter had co over bringing another pint glass, and had gone to collect the other four.
Donald had only arrived a few monts ago, and that's when he realised that the number of drinks that Edvard had might have been a few more than four.
"Does it look like I'm having trouble right now. I an in terms of the alcohol," Edvard replied. "I'm not a lightweight, trust I can't even rember the last ti I was drunk, so don't mind .
"The taste just once in a while it allows to think a bit clearly, to try pull us out of the situation that we're in."
"Well, I know we failed to take out the Ironfang, but have you had an update then from Cooper about the rest of the situation?" Donald asked.
Edvard nodded. Cooper was one of the oldest five-star hunters, and he was the eyes and ears the map of the entire situation at hand.
He had displayed various caras and communicators in Ruin city, so he was keeping an eye on the movent and the plan the Altered hunters had to go through the city.
"Before he arrives, I'll explain what exactly went wrong," Edvard said. "We know that the Botanic Gardens have the Ironfang's protecting them. It's hard for us to move beyond those areas.
"We had taken out two of eight botanic gardens and Ironfang leaders. Their way of allowing absolute freedom from within the areas is what's troubling as every Ironfang acts different.
"The attack we had, was a plan to take out as many of the gardens as we could leading up to the castle."
"Right, and from what I heard, Roman's team took out an Ironfang right?" Donald asked. "We were close to taking out another one as well, it would have only left us four to deal with.
"The fear was always if this whole thing turned into a full out attack. The reason it hasn't done is because the civilians that live here. All of the Werewolves and the Ironfang leaders getting together and fighting us."
"Correct," Edvard said. "Although there were two fears. In the first place we had split up our attack so they couldn't condense their forces into one.
"But the other fear is, if the werewolves decided to abandon the gardens all together, and gather at the castle."
'In the past, this is what has happened, and the condensed power, when their backs are up against the wall, the vampires have decided that the losses were too great. Or sothing happens within the vampires to take advantage of the situation.
'Leaving us in an endless loop of never being able to complete the goal. I'm tired of all of this.'
Thinking these thoughts, Edvard went to almost gulp down the entire pint in one go.
Donald had to admit he was impressed that none of this was affecting his speech, he just hoped that it wasn't affecting his judgnt as well.
"We pulled back that day because of the report from Cooper, he said that Lupus had gotten involved. It probably wasn't just him but that woman what was her na, Rumba?"
"Ylva," Donald corrected.
"Right, right, I knew I was close," Edvard replied wafting his hand like it was no big deal. "They got involved a lot earlier than I would have liked. If we look at the board like a chess ga, Lupus is like the queen.
"The most powerful piece and he can freely move around the board. Wherever we plan to attack, he will appear.
"We can't fight up split like we were doing before with him around the board, and we haven't gotten rid of the, knights and bishops that surround him. If I'm honest, if our full force was to go against theirs it would be a complete loss which is why we have to think of other ways, but it's beco a near impossibility now."
"I agree with what you're saying," Donald said. "But if we're comparing this to a ga of chess, there is one thing. Lupus isn't the queen, he's the king. So if we take him out, then we win the ga."
Edvard smiled at the comnt.
"Right, if only it was that easy. I an at least he isn't in the protection of his castle so you're right.
"But I don't think there's anything that can take him out. The only thing I can think of is going up against him myself. I don't think I can beat him, but I can certainly keep him distracted.
"During that ti, we need to get rid of as many pieces of the board as possible.
"There's just two things I need to do that, we need to have more pieces, as we have nearly lost all of our pawns, and as for the second, I need to get a bit of an upgrade."
As Edvard finished his sentence, he could see a few n and one woman walk in through the front door in casual clothing.
They looked just like everyday guests, but they were Altered hunters.
Cooper, the old five-star hunter, along with his right-hand woman Joy, who was far younger but extrely talented in fighting.
Then there was Ozacas, a serious and determined hunter, who did his task ticulously.
Looking at Ozacas' face, he could tell, that there appeared to be so grave news, and taking a look at Cooper, he even had part of his arm bandaged.
"What happened to them?" Donald asked.
"I think we're about to find out," Edvard answered.
