The worst possible outco had occurred, in the Howler mbers' minds and Blackjack's mind as well.
They knew that out of everyone there, the most important person needed for the task was Gary. Blackjack knew his strength well and could only imagine he had gotten stronger.
If the Werewolves found out about the delivery they were trying to make, it would be impossible to deliver the items to Edvard without the help of Gary.
And yet here there was one person standing in their way. Blackjack had the thought to just jump over to the other side, and force a reverse decision out of Saiber, but it wouldn't do them well at all.
"I failed?" Gary said, as he stood up not even picking up the Warhamr. "But I'm completely fine, I can still fight, there's a lot more I can show, co on let's go again."
"Right, right, but as I stated in the real world out there you would have been dead," Saiber comnted. "And then, our fellow n who were in groupings with you would have one less person to cover for them. Or worse, so might try and save you, and in the end they would get hurt in the process. I have every right, to take you off this outing."
Gary opened his mouth, wanting to say sothing, but he didn't know what to say. What words he could use to convince Saiber to take him on this task.
He started to think of alternatives, maybe he could follow the group into Ruin city from afar, that would work, but it would give a higher chance of failure about this whole thing.
Or maybe Gary should just charge in and use his full strength against Saiber. If that was to happen though, then it would make the situation worse rather than better.
"Oh well, I guess two of them will do right, it's not that big of a deal?" Kim said.
Kai imdiately turned around, his eyes fierce as he looked at Kim. Did she not understand the situation? Out of everyone there, they needed Gary to go on this mission.
"Saiber don't you think you're making a rash decision?" Blackjack stated. "Don't let your anger towards get in the way of your evaluation.
"You are a skilled hunter, and even you should have seen the skill he had to avoid Pluto's attacks, and the sense he had in that fight."
"I saw the result, and what I said stays true," Saiber replied. "Do you really think, I would be so unprofessional that I would let a grudge get in the way of my decision making? I think the one that might be getting emotional in this is you.
"You have three apprentices, I already passed the first one, and failed the second. If you think I was being unfair, I would have just failed them all."
Although to the extrely skilled, Saiber's argunt made no sense. Blackjack knew that to all of the other Altered hunters around them, it seed like he was telling the truth.
"I'm not asking a lot, but I'm asking you to give him a chance," Blackjack pleaded again. "You know as well as I do, that based on his performance that he could take on any of the three-star hunters here. If you don't accept him, then there are plenty that shouldn't be on this mission."
After hearing Blackjack say those words there were so grunts and moans from the others. They didn't like them stating that an apprentice of all things were better than them.
Seeing Gary's performance they didn't exactly understand what had occurred either.
"I can vouch for him. If this mission fails, then you can bla it on , but he won't slow us down!" Blackjack said with strong determination.
He t with the eyes of Saiber for a few monts until Saiber had given his answer.
"Did you hear , or did you go mad in the ti that you were gone?" Saiber replied. "The decision has been made he will not go on this mission."
At his wit's end, Blackjack honestly felt like he only had one choice, he would have to find the ti to force the decision to be made.
"Don't worry," Blackjack said. "As he approached Gary. I can make him change his mind. Don't worry about it for now, and just stand by your friends."
Gary had no choice, but to believe that Blackjack could sort sothing out. It was the only thing he could do.
'I ssed up, I shouldn't have pulled back as much as I did, or I could have just picked another weapon,' Gary thought to himself. 'I should have realized, it would have been tricky.'
"You don't have to worry about anything," Kai said as he patted Gary's back. "You perford well enough. I know you have doubts but nine tis out of ten, that performance would have been fine. But this is the one ti that it didn't work and it's not your fault."
Gary didn't know if Kai was saying that just to make him feel better or if it was the truth, but either way he was happy to hear it.
"Alright co on then, it's ti for the last of you lot to co and do the assessnt," Saiber shouted out. "I hope that the next one isn't as big of a disappointnt."
Pluto repositioned himself, and with the others having already taken the assessnt, there was really only one person left and that was Kai.
'Kai should be alright, he can guess how much he should show based on my failure so he should be fine,' Gary thought.
As Kai went to move forward though, he whispered a few words.
"I'm sorry Gary."
"Sorry?" Gary repeated as he saw Kai's back walk in front of him. "Why would he be sorry…"
