Chapter 43- Blood On My Hands (Part 2)

That small whimper, and the quiet that followed it, made Elio’s body shudder. His heart started beating faster as a sense of unease lood over his head. Many thoughts crossed his mind.

Standing there, in the complete darkness, listening to the subtle noises, he started noticing things he hadn’t noticed earlier when he was walking through the corridor. Things that only these noises made apparent to him.

’The student noises... T-They’re gone...’ He frowned. He couldn’t hear any more of the students outside. The temperature had also noticeably dropped around him. It was as if he were now completely isolated from the rest of the world.

"Gulp..." He swallowed a mouthful of saliva. ’Sothing is very wrong going on... This feeling... It’s so familiar...’ He mused. The tense, sharp atmosphere, coupled with the noises. He had already suspected what it was, and his fear pushed him to leave. However, those calls for help stopped him and made him hesitate.

He wanted to leave; logic told him to leave. This was none of his business. If it was truly what he thought it was, then he had no reason to stay there. He could just go out and call Fiona. He could just go ho and let Vampire Hunters deal with it, or maybe even the authorities.

All he had to do was just look away and sneak out of the building. That was what he would’ve done 99 out of 100 tis. Yet, whether it was fate or perhaps the power Elio gained that changed his ntality... He didn’t leave.

’I hate myself.’ He grumbled as he turned around and snuck around the corner, following the source of the noise. Each step got him closer and closer to the source until he stopped at a random classroom door. The noise was coming from the inside.

Slowly, he peeked through the window at the interior. There, all he saw was a huge ss. All the tables were flipped, chairs thrown everywhere. It was like a storm had swept through the entire place. Elio frowned with a dark expression as he started noticing the details. On the wall, the tables and so chairs were stained... Dark stains.

Elio was not stupid. He didn’t take a second to realize that those stains were blood. Then, his eyes wandered to the corner of the classroom where he saw two silhouettes. One was hunched over another while the latter struggled weakly, their legs and arms moving like an insect trapped by a spider.

Elio’s face paled seeing that. It was indeed what he thought.

’There is a damn vampire here... As I thought!’ He breathed in to try and calm down. ’What should I do? Should I call Fiona? No, the person will die before she can get here.’

He was starting to panic, not knowing what to do. However, at that mont, his Blood Energy instinctively activated, rushing to his brain to calm his nerves. Magically, his mind cleared in a second, and he found himself able to think rationally.

Then, he quickly pulled out his phone, put it on mute, and then called Fiona. Putting the phone in his pocket, he then stood up and kicked the door with his leg. The noise made the vampire raise his head quickly as he stared at Elio. His face looked terrifying, sared in blood with his eyes bloodshot red.

’I’m so stupid! I’m so stupid! I’m so stupid!’ Elio yelled in his head as he took a deep breath and yelled. "Leave that person alone!"

"Agh..." The vampire growled before he slowly stood up on his feet and then, without a second thought, dashed toward Elio.

"Shit!"

The boy imdiately turned around and sprinted out as fast as he could. His heart leaped when he saw the vampire close the distance so quickly. Looking over his shoulder as he ran through the corridor, the vampire was chasing him relentlessly. His speed was terrifying, to say the least.

It didn’t take a second for the distance to be cut short as the vampire leaped on him.

"Ugh!"

*BANG*

Elio felt like a train had slamd into his back as he fell to the ground, rolling several tis until he ca to a halt. The creature fell too, but it quickly recovered and jumped at him again. However, Elio, with a fast reaction, swung his leg, kicking it right in the face with all his power. The monster was thrown to the side as he hit the wall.

Elio then quickly stood up and tried to run again.

"AGH!!!"

Even more enraged now, the vampire dashed after him.

’What the hell is this speed?! It’s so damn fast!’ Elio clenched his teeth. ’Think! Think! How can I get rid of him?’

His eyes looked left and right as he tried to form so kind of plan. anwhile, the monster was on hot pursuit. So, knowing he won’t be able to run for long, Elio quickly took a sharp turn, rushing inside a random classroom before he closed the door shut.

*BANG*

A split second later, the vampire slamd into the door with a loud bang. Elio was barely able to close it right on ti. However, the vampire kept slamming and punching it without rcy.

The boy took several steps back, his heart racing and his thoughts all over the place. He was scared, imnsely so. But, at the sa ti, he didn’t feel like he was completely hopeless.

Looking around him, Elio searched for anything he could use.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* SHATTER*

The glass burst loudly as a large hole appeared in the door through which the vampire tried to squeeze, its growls of anger and bloodthirst enough to terrify anyone.

The glass cut through its skin and scratched it in many places, but it didn’t seem bothered. Eventually, it passed through and fell inside before it stood up and rushed toward Elio.

The latter stood there in his place, not moving. It cut the distance in a split second and lunged at him.

Suddenly, Elio moved his hand, grabbing a chair near him before he swung it with all his power, slamming the vampire right in the face. It was a direct and strong hit, right to the jaw, that made the monster lose its balance.

’Now!!’

"AAAAAGH!" Taking that opportunity, he kicked the monster before it fell down and started hitting it with the chair using all his power. His heart was racing loudly, and his mind went blank. All he could think of was the chair hitting the vampire.

The latter resisted with all its power, covering its face and body. Then, it grabbed his leg and tackled him down. Suddenly, the situation was flipped with Elio trying to defend himself.

"Get... off !" He yelled as he slamd his hand into the vampire’s face, pushing it away as it opened its mouth, ready to eat him.

Blood dripped down on Elio’s face and body. Using his arms and legs, he kicked and shoved the monster while the latter outpowered him with its superhuman strength.

"AGH..." The creature growled, and in a split second, where Elio was open, it bit into his neck, sinking its teeth deep into his skin.
