Rose’s eyes widened at his words. What was wrong with this man? Her hands trembled as she glanced at her knife. Was he trying to distract her? Then he laughed before speaking. "You don’t have to worry. Your friend is perfectly fine."
"And why should I believe you?" Rose spat, her voice dripping with anger and coldness.
Rylan just stared at her, unfazed. "I don’t really care if you believe or not. All I know is that she’s fine. She’s with her husband-to-be."
"You f*cking idiot! You don’t have the right to say that! Naomi is being forced against her will."
At that, Rylan laughed again, a low, mocking sound. "Last I checked, you said your na was Naomi."
Rose bit down on her lower lip, a mix of frustration and confusion swelling within her. Did he just use psychological manipulation on her? What ga was he trying to play? She wasn’t in the mood for this; it was obvious she had exposed herself. She was not Naomi.
"You know what I’m talking about," she shot back, her tone sharp. "Don’t try to divert the question. Where is Naomi?"
He laughed again, his amusent unsettling.
"You guys are forcing her against her will," Rose said, her anger palpable.
Rylan’s expression hardened. "We didn’t force her. She made a choice."
Rose stared at him, her eyes filled with cold determination. "Her parents made a choice. You idiots."
He turned to her, his gaze icy, making her shiver. "Mind your words,I have a na Rylan" he warned, his voice low and nacing.
Before Rose knew it, she found herself in the back seat of the car. She had been at the driver’s seat, so how did she end up lying down with her hands pinned above her head by Rylan’s grip? She stared up at him, eyes wide, as he lood over her. The knife she had been holding was now in his hands, pressed against her neck.
"Co on then, kill . Kill , murderer!" she challenged, her voice rising in defiance. She had no idea why she was pushing him like this, but at that mont, she didn’t care. All she wanted was to see Naomi.
Rylan’s eyes widened in surprise. What was wrong with this girl? He had no intention of killing her; he just wanted her to be quiet. But his reaction only seed to escalate the situation.
"If you want to see your friend, co here tomorrow," he said, trying to defuse the tension. He figured that if he didn’t do sothing drastic, Rose would stubbornly refuse to leave.
"Why should I trust you?" she demanded, her voice filled with skepticism.
"I don’t need you to trust . If you want to see your friend, just co tomorrow morning."
Rose’s face flared with anger as he reached into his pocket and pulled out her phone. "Have it," he said, tossing it to her.
She snatched the phone from him. "Now get off !"
Rylan suddenly realized he was still on top of her. She looked at him and muttered, "F*cking pervert." Though he heard her, he didn’t care. He opened the car door and stepped out, leaving her behind.
Rose scread in frustration, hitting her head against the car seat. How had she ruined this plan? But maybe, just maybe, when she returned tomorrow, things would work out for her and Naomi.
Rylan entered the mansion and opened the door to find the maid standing there, shaking violently. She was the one who had taken Rose’s key earlier, and Rylan had caught her trying to escape with it, along with so belongings from the mansion. He had taken the key from her, fully aware of Rose and Naomi’s plan.
The maid stood shivering, her fear palpable. Rylan stared at her, contemplating whether to wait until he returned to inform Zylan of what he had discovered. But first, he decided to remain silent and observe. He avoided looking directly at her; even the slightest glance seed to make her tremble with fear. She knew exactly what she had done—stealing from the mansion was sothing no one could afford to do. It was like signing your own death warrant.
"Why did you take the keys?" he finally asked, his voice cold and unyielding.
The maid’s body shook. "I—"
"You know better than to keep waiting," he interrupted sharply.
She shivered again, struggling to find the words. "I didn’t an to—"
"That’s not what I asked," Rylan snapped, his tone leaving no room for excuses.
"B-because it was c-cute," she stamred, her voice barely above a whisper.
He noticed her hesitation, which he found infuriating. Unbelievable, he thought. It was absurd that soone would steal a key simply because they thought it was "cute." What was wrong with these people? This was what he called "stealing with confidence."
With a final glance, Rylan left the room, his frustration simring beneath the surface.
As Rylan stepped out, his eyes darted to a figure standing nearby. There was no need to identify him; it was Zylan. Rylan walked toward him, noticing that Zylan was holding soone in his arms. His pupils widened slightly at the sight.
"What happened? Is she sleeping?" Rylan asked, his shock overshadowing his earlier irritation.
Zylan spoke, his tone unreadable.
"She collapsed."
