Sector D.

The containnt room was almost unrecognizable. Blood sared across walls, equipnt shattered, glass glittering like broken ice and smoke hung in the air.

Then the doors slid open.

Four figures could be seen.

Doctor Riza who was holding Shadow on her arms, the two association agents, and Jack who was unconscious and being carried by the loud agent on his back.

They went out like nothing happened, with new clothes, and with no visible wounds.

Riza adjusted the sleeping cat in her arms and sighed inwardly.

’I only healed what their clothes couldn’t hide.’ Doctor Riza said to herself. At the sa ti, while walking, she couldn’t help but wonder.

’Obtaining the prototype is already great, but what is with this new employee? His resistance against the sleeping liquid is too high when I have injected ten injections. If I don’t control his emotions using Emotional Stablization every five minutes, he is gonna wake up. What an amazing specin.’

The two association agents exchanged glances as they walked down the corridor.

"This Sector D is indeed a highly restricted area. You hardly see anyone. But now it’s working against them." The agent said, barely a whisper, as they walked in front of CCTV caras, before destroying them.

Just then, the security who was wielding weapons stopped them, finding the group suspicious. The lead guard stiffened in confusion.

’The Association agents? Doctor Riza? And who are they carrying? And that cat, isn’t that the special subject?’

He then opened his mouth, with a hardened tone.

"Stop."

Behind him, four security personnel had also noticed and blocked the corridor, weapons raised.

Riza smiled gently, putting her body onto the front.

Anyone there could see that there were three more behind him, all wielding firearms.

But then, without any warning, three needles flashed through the air and appeared in the man’s vision, hitting him both straight at the eyes, blinding him.

The lead guard scread, clutching his face—needles buried deep in both eyes.

The other guards jerked back in horror and started firing.

"Is that alright?" the silent agent then asked, blocking the bullets with the tallic disc.

"It’s fine. We need to hurry to the hangar imdiately. It’s only a matter of ti before they discover what had happened after all."

The guards did not panic and simply opened fire, sending bullets whizzing.

However, the silent agent rely moved his disk in directions, deflecting the rounds with ease.

Then the loud agent blurred forward, crashing into the group like a wrecking ball.

Bones cracked and shouts died in wet, abrupt gurgles as n were ripped limb from limb.

The three didn’t stand a chance, and even those who ran were slaughtered.

"Shit!"

Soone behind a wall was hiding and imdiately contacted the HQ.

In the monitoring command room, dozens of analysts stared at their computer screens—tracking battles across two provinces, checking in insertion points, shouting confirmations.

"Division 5 has secured the Port!"

"Division 6 has secured Area 4!"

"Multiple rifts detected near the Quezon ridge, forwarding coordinates—!"

The notifications however soon started to calm down.

One of them buzzed again—an internal line, Sector D.

After thirty seconds, the woman finally grabbed it.

"Monitoring Sector, go ahead."

The response ca breathless, panicked.

"This is Sector D—Sector D is being attacked! I repeat—Sector D is under attack!"

"Sector D?!" she stood up.

A man walking past, the leader, snatched the phone.

"Calm down. Situation report. Now." He said calmly.

"The special Subject Shadow had been taken by Doctor Riza. Sector D is being attacked by two high level awakeners we believe to be association agents. Everyone has–Agh!"

On their end, the sound of thud echoed as the phone dropped on the other.

Then footsteps echoed faintly on the line, followed by a voice.

"Tch, I need a fresh set of clothes."

Then silence.

And nothing more.

Thirty minutes later, the five divisions soon returned to the GH headquarters, all heading to the containnt room in Sector D.

The sight froze them.

Blood everywhere. Bodies mangled. Shattered walls. Impact craters.

The remnants of a slaughter were obvious, especially outside which contained a few headless corpses.

The 12th Division and 11th was one of the first divisions to arrive. Then ca so representatives and captains of the other divisions.

"Senior!"

David ran out seeing the mangled collapsed figure with his mono-blade daggers on the floor, barely breathing.

Jas was nearby, kneeling, still struggling to regenerate. His entire mouth all the way to his throat had been torn open, slowing his healing drastically.

Captain Riot was silent as he looked at the state of the area.

The 11th Division’s Captain Marie and Vice-Captain Lorie rushed to Simon imdiately.

"Hold him steady," Marie commanded, already channeling her power. Then after a minute, she spoke again, "His internal damage is severe, but he’ll live."

Captain Marie and Lorie remained with Simon the whole ti, performing intricate surgeries, and using their powers like surgeons.

Hearing Captain Marie of the 11th Division, the faces of everyone lit up a little, but anyone could see that while most of the divisions only had injured mbers, Sector D’s security and those who stayed to check out the traitors had suffered a tragic result.

They all knew. They did not expect that the base was going to get attacked indeed.

Sector D’s security...had been annihilated.

Then soon, after several minutes, Jas of the 3rd Division managed to move his fingers and asking her Captain with his own blood:

—Pen and paper.

Then, with shaking hands, he started to write.

--The rookie was right. Those association agents were traitors. No, I feel like they were Cries’ mbers to begin with. Doctor Riza was also unexpectedly with them. She took the cat and even the rookie, calling him a vital piece to whatever they want to do.

Everyone stared for a mont at the words on the note.

Just then, a heavy set of footsteps entered.

Executive Colminer—flanked by his sword-wielding aide—took one look at the scene and sighed as if centuries older.

"Looks like everyone’s here." Executive Colminer said, "There will be more soon."

Monts later, Chris entered, followed by four other Association mbers in black suits.

Chris scanned the destruction, the corpses, the wounded... and bowed.

"I am Chris, representing the Association. I apologize. We won’t make any excuses."

Soone snapped:

"You think that changes anything? Twelve employees died! The others might not survive the night!"

Hearing the sudden commotion, Executive Colminer then started to speak too as he raised a hand.

"Enough. This isn’t the ti to point fingers." His voice was low but edged with iron. "After all, we also have a mole in our side."

Everyone winced, and imdiately thought of who seed to be the gentlest doctor in the company.

Colminer said slowly. "We were also blind-sided. Now she had walked out with the Special Subject and one of us."

Just then, Jas started writing again:

--The rookie is still alive.

Executive Colminer read the note even from afar, and knew what he ant.

Then he started to speak.

"As for the rookie Jack Crawluster who got kidnapped, I am afraid we might not see him again." He suddenly said.

David’s eyes widened.

Lucy showed shock. Especially since she knew Jack was the executive’s grandson.

"What do you an by that, old man?" Captain Riot then spoke for the first ti, also knowing the relationship between the two.

Colminer repeated calmly:

"I an what I said."

"You’re abandoning him?" Riot’s voice grew dangerously low.

Colminer looked unmoved.

"Awakeners die every day." He spoke coldly, "Rank 1 Employee Crawluster is no exception. He signed the contract. He chose this life. We are not heroes—we are rcenaries. We act only when requested and no one requested a rescue."

Captain Riot’s face darkened. His armor rattled as his fists clenched and turned to Chris.

"...Is that the Association’s stance too?"

Chris remained calm.

"Mister Jack Crawluster seems to be a very valuable person to the purpose of Cries this ti. So unlike the Executive, we are of the opinion that we need to retrieve him asap."

Then he continued.

"Of course, we plan to rescue him from the start." Chris continued grimly, "However, Cries is a Tier 1 hostile awakened organization. It is made up of awakeners who bank their existence on fighting and changing the world with their own hands. Their base location is unknown. It has been since the beginning."

He looked around.

"It won’t be easy."

"No way..." Soone whispered.

Riot then grabbed his armor and flung it across the room, denting the wall with a thunderous crack.

"So what?!" he roared. "Do we just sit around again? Over and over, they had taken out almost all the mbers of my Division!"

At this mont, Chris raised both hands.

"The Association is mobilizing everything we have. We’ve deployed detachnts nationwide, monitoring all regions. Global networks have been alerted. We are also requesting GH Security’s cooperation."

"I cannot speak for the other branches, but Branch 5 naturally will accept." Colminer replied. Then looking at the area, he thought, ’Jack, do you have a plan?’
