The City Lord nodded in satisfaction, "Then I’ll leave it to Array Master Jin!"
"This is my duty, City Lord. I will go now to reinforce the array," said Array Master Jin, giving a respectful cupped fist salute to the City Lord and casting a glance at Song Yan Ning and the other two before turning to leave.
The City Lord withdrew his gaze and turned it towards Song Yan Ning and her companions, "What do you think this place is? Do you think you can run wild here?"

"What?!" The City Lord shot up from his chair. He had thought that even if the Demon Beasts from Wanshou Forest were to break through the array, it would take so ti. He didn’t expect they would break through and charge into Yunlan City so swiftly.
The City Lord collapsed back in his chair, drained of strength. He knew it was all over, fully aware of the formidable power of those Demon Beasts. Once they entered Yunlan City, it would be no more.

"Your subordinate believes we could let them join in eliminating the Demon Beasts as a way to make ands," Housekeeper Liu said, glancing at Song Yan Ning’s group.
The City Lord frowned as he looked at Song Yan Ning and her companions, hesitating for a mont, "Very well." He knew how powerful those Demon Beasts were; going after them was almost certain death. If they were to die, so be it. If they were to return alive, there would still be ti to kill them. In any case, they had injured his son, and there was only one outco for them, which was death.

"Go and bring them back!" the City Lord bellowed in rage. Since becoming the City Lord, no one had ever dared to disregard him.
"City Lord! Please calm down," Housekeeper Liu hastily advised.
"Did you see their attitude? How can I not be angry?" asked the City Lord in a deep voice.
"City Lord, your subordinate thinks that the more they act this way, the less simple they are. Perhaps they can resolve this crisis," Housekeeper Liu had a premonition.
"Just with them?" Xiao Xun sneered in disdain.
"Do you really think so?" the City Lord looked toward Housekeeper Liu. As a disciple of the Tianxiang Sect, Housekeeper Liu was best at judging people’s character, and his words likely ca from noticing sothing.

"My lord, we from the Wanshou Forest have been joined by a few powerful beings whose strength is similar to yours; they are the ones who want to take over Yunlan City," one of the Demon Beasts said.
Elder Mie Yu’s heart surged with excitent upon hearing this.
"Tell what they look like," Song Yan Ning urged anxiously. She felt that those referred to by the Demon Beast might very well be her family mbers.
"The lords all look exceptionally handso, just like you. One of them has unhealed injuries and has been in a coma," the Demon Beast didn’t know how to describe the appearance of those lords.
"Lead us to Wanshou Forest and command all the Demon Beasts to retreat back there," Song Yan Ning spoke as she quickly walked toward the city gate. Her command to the Demon Beasts to retreat wasn’t to aid the City Lord, but because she didn’t want to see Yunlan City suffer. As for whether to take over Yunlan City or not, that was a decision she would make after reaching the Wanshou Forest.
The Demon Beast responded and let out a roar towards the sky.
At the sa mont, myriad Demon Beasts within the city, like a receding tide, left Yunlan City and swiftly vanished without a trace.
Xiao Xun, leading his forces out of the City Lord Mansion, saw the empty streets and was sowhat dumbfounded. If not for the Demon Beasts’ corpses still lying around, he would have thought that the Demon Beasts never attacked the city. But what caused the Demon Beasts to retreat?
He saw an injured Cultivator staggering down the street.
"You, co here!" Xiao Xun beckoned to the Cultivator.
