Chapter 72: I Think I Just Saw Myself
“What do you an ‘special’?”
Again, she smirked. I had this sudden urge to punch her in the face every ti she showed her annoying smirk.
“I won’t tell you.” She said as she turned away from ; I could tell she did that purposely.
Before I could retort back, she had floated away and waved goodbye to .
“I’ll tell you later when the ti has co!” She said.
I stared at her disappearing back, feeling dumbfounded. I had a feeling that sothing complicated was heading towards . She still had not told about Tom’s disappearance, yet she left hanging with another troubleso matter.
Taking a deep breath, I decided to head back. This ti, I knew for sure that no class would be held for today.
.....
After what had happened today, I knew it would a long and tiring day for anyone.
By the ti I entered my room, I was greeted by the sight of Tom. He was sitting down on my bed, waiting for like usual. He turned his head towards in a creepy manner and it was like a horror sound effect was playing in my head.
However, I noticed his expression was slightly off. I an, he looked much gloomier and paler than before. It was as if he was becoming more and more like a ghost.
A ghost wouldn’t be sick, right?
Still, seeing him in this state made the complaint I had in mind flew away. He didn’t even welco !!
“Tom?” I called him slowly as I carefully approached him on my bed.
I watched as he blinked his eyes painfully slow, like a super sleepy person who already ran out of energy but still couldn’t fall asleep. His eyes looked empty, lifeless, and it worried .
“Are you okay?” I asked again, but still no response from him. “Tom?”
“...Jane?” His voice ca out like a whisper.
Okay, he was not like his usual self.
“What’s wrong with you?” I reached out to him but the chilly feeling numbed my fingertips, reminding that he was not a human.
“I think...” He trailed off.
“What?” I scooted closer to him, try to hear what he said.
“I think I just saw myself.” He said in a whisper, but loud enough for to hear.
His words caught off guard as I stiffened in response. What did he an? Did he have any recollection about his past life?
My eyes t his. A flicker of light appeared in his almost lifeless eyes. Emotion rushed in his stoic expression and brought up so warmth. It was as if he was excited after ‘seeing’ himself.
“Uhum...” I cleared my throat. “W-what did you see? I an... do you rember sothing from your past life?”
Hearing my question, he frowned as he fell into deep thought. “Was it just my mory?” He asked, probably to himself.
“What did you see?” I asked.
“I was sleeping alone in a room. But, I don’t know where it was.” He answered, his eyes were looking at in confusion.
I raised my eyebrows. “Do you still rember the detail?” Honestly, when I asked this question, I was just ssing around with him. I was not even being serious with my question. But, surprisingly, he took it seriously and thought about it.
“It is pretty bright, and the room is mostly white. I rember the window is big and I could see a big tree from the window. But, I couldn’t hear anything. I only saw myself laying on the small bed, still sleeping. There is a flower on the nightstand and a book.” He explained slowly. He was trying hard to rember it and I found it strange that he could see sothing so vivid.
“Well, at least you have regained so of your mory. By the way, where were you?” I asked, diverting his attention from his mory.
“I don’t know. I was sucked into a black hole and when I opened my eyes, I was standing near the bed where my body was laying.” He said in all seriousness.
What did he an by that?
“After that?” I asked again.
“After that, I was sucked again into the sa black hole and appeared here. Then, you ca.” He said.
I frowned. Based on his explanation, he was only ‘seeing’ himself for a short while, in reality he had been missing for hours.
What the hell is happening here?
And, what is the black hole?
Why do I feel like we were speaking different languages just now?
