Chapter 228: Werewolves have abilities too?

Chapter 226

One mont the Minotaur was a safe distance away from the approaching ball of energy.

The next, he was slamd backward by the projectile, swapping positions with Felix, who had been heading straight toward the attack.

The beast was blasted away, nearly crashing into a wall, but before it could impact the stone, it dug its feet into the ground and ca to a grinding halt just in ti.

Felix could be seen rising, fresh blood dripping from his mouth.

His eyes glead a dangerous, predatory yellow as he bead in the direction of the monster.

Everybody stared between him and the beast for a brief, silent mont.

"Uh... what was that?" Kai asked, his voice thick with confusion.

Felix blinked at the absurdity of the question for a few seconds. "That was my ability, duh."

Kai and Van exchanged looks before they gulped simultaneously, one question ringing in their heads:

’Werewolves have abilities, too?!’

The beast growled thunderously, glaring at Felix while the fur on its back remained seared from the earlier blast.

Trish thought for a second before her eyes lit up with a realization.

"That doesn’t work only on your foes, right?"

Bang—!

The beast had already bolted toward the werewolf, who was ready for the charge.

Shifting into a defensive stance, Felix’s thighs bulged incredibly, and with a clamorous bang, he darted to the side just in the nick of ti.

Or so he thought.

The Minotaur had already reached his location and swung its mace toward him.

Though he dove to the side and believed he had escaped, he was unfortunately caught by the sharp spikes of the weapon, which grazed his side deeply and drew a fresh spray of blood.

The Minotaur didn’t want to give the werewolf a single mont of rest.

It swiftly spun around, ready to give chase, only for four ice spears to suddenly reach its face.

Lightning coursed through its hooves and, with an ear-shattering bang, the beast darted backward to dodge the projectiles.

This gave Felix the window he needed to jump back to his feet.

"It doesn’t only work on a foe. I can swap positions with anybody I wish to, provided I have already marked them."

Trish nodded, the cogwheels of strategy spinning in her head.

After hearing her question and the answer provided by the werewolf, Van’s eyes lit up, seeing exactly where this was heading.

But then, the light dimd back down.

’If only we had a powerful damage dealer.’

With a dark look on his face, he peered in the direction where Ray—or the strange entity that had seized control of his friend’s body—had fled.

’... Where did he go? Did we really get abandoned?’

Alas!

There was no ti to ponder this any longer.

The beast had already regained its footing and was about to be kept occupied by Caster’s wolf.

The creature rushed forward with blazing speed, closing the distance between it and the towering Minotaur in the blink of an eye.

It moved in and out with its claws, trying to dig into any vulnerable spot it could find.

But each of its tactical hit-and-run strikes was blocked by the Minotaur.

Its mace was positioned at strategic places, keeping the wolf from drawing any blood from its thick hide.

The wolf was unrelenting, however.

In a second, it was seen charging back in while the Minotaur prepared to smash the mace into its skull.

The wolf didn’t derail from its path, charging forward even as the weapon descended.

An inch away from entering the Minotaur’s personal space—

Clap—!

The wolf was gone, and in its place stood Felix, who instantly swerved his body.

The mace slamd into the earth where he had stood a mont ago, turning the ground into a deep crater with sparks of electricity crackling around the area.

Vaulting off the ground with imnse velocity, Felix’s leg swelled with power.

With a thunderous bang, he swung his foot into the Minotaur’s face with all the monstrous strength contained in his bones.

Bang—!

The Minotaur was sent tumbling backward with imnse speed, the force of the kick echoing through the cavern.

A mont before it could crash into the far wall, Trish skidded forward using her ice ability.

Within re monts, she was onto a new plan.

Frosted energy surged from her palms, and thick ice began rising around the beast’s massive legs in a desperate attempt to pin it in place.

She used her power as a skating trail, granting her enough montum to skid completely around the creature.

With a frantic flurry of movents, her ability began encasing the Minotaur in a reinforced box trap of sorts.

The Minotaur stared at the rising walls for a heartbeat before roaring with a primal, bone-chilling fury.

Then—

Crackle—! Crackle—!

BOOOOM—!

A violent electrical explosion detonated, instantly shattering the ice that had been trying to enclose it.

The resulting shockwave was powerful enough to blast the girl away like a ragdoll.

Before she could crash headfirst into the stone floor, an ice dagger swiftly appeared in her hand.

Digging the blade deep into the ground, she dragged herself to a shaky halt.

She barely had ti to breathe before the beast crossed the distance, appearing before her in a flash.

A close-range lightning bolt crackled in its hand, gathered and ready to be unleashed upon the girl.

Without wasting a second, the monster hauled the bolt toward her at a trendous velocity.

Trish’s eyes widened in horror for a split second as the lethal energy neared.

Before the bolt could connect, a piercing howl echoed through the air.

The Dark Wolf zipped forward with overwhelming speed, bashing into her and flinging her away from the impact zone.

However, the summon was unable to dodge the bolt in ti.

The electrical surge drove into its matte-black fur and exploded violently within its body.

The wolf howled in agony as the lightning coursed through its fra, electrocuting it fiercely.

"NOOOO!" Caster scread, his voice cracking with rage at the sight of his wolf spasming on the ground in pain.

The Minotaur lifted its hand again, another jagged lightning bolt arcing around its grip, ready to descend for the kill.

Caster gritted his teeth and, with explosive speed, darted forward to close the distance in a second.

Without thinking twice, he kicked off the ground with every ounce of his strength.

His claws slid out as he swung a desperate slash toward the beast’s neck.

Only for a wicked, predatory smile to curve across the beast’s face.

A blindingly bright light suddenly encapsulated the Minotaur, causing Caster’s eyes to widen in terror as a crackling, sinister energy began coursing around its massive body with renewed intensity.

’Fuck.’
