Chapter 198: Fight the Golems (5)

Chapter 196

Bang—!

A clamorous sound erupted from behind a stupefied Felix, and in the next heartbeat, a blur zood past him.

"Huh?"

A grunt followed, and then a sudden leap.

The golem that had attempted to sneak up on the young werewolf quickly looked up, only to see a pair of blades arcing toward its face at trendous speed.

The steel raced toward the singular eye on its head.

With equally fast reflexes, the beast quickly lifted its other hand in front of its cranium, absorbing the impact of the swords which struck it with imnse force, sending it sliding backward.

Landing a few feet away from the monster was a boy who stood at 5"9 tall, his black curly hair fluttering softly in the wind.

His back was straight.

A pair of swords was held in either of his hands as he kept his rear turned toward a stunned Felix.

’Huh? Who is—?’ Felix’s thoughts trailed off as he scanned the teenager from top to bottom.

"Wait. Isn’t he one of those powerful ta-humans from my class? I have never seen him use an ability though, but I know he is strong," he muttered under his breath as the boy gripped the hilts tightly.

The blades emanated a ghostly green shine.

Leaning forward with all his weight pressed on his dominant foot, the ground beneath him cracked just a tiny bit.

And then, with that sa loud bang, he exploded forward with inhuman velocity.

The speed was sothing a normal person shouldn’t have possessed.

Not like the boy was an ordinary human, but still, this sort of pace shouldn’t have been standard for a ta.

He blurred forward, appearing before the beast, and then exploded into a whirlwind of kinetic movents and sword strikes.

The golem was unable to even block when the steel slashed at its side, chipping off a huge chunk of stone to the extent that brown dust flowed from its body like blood.

Ducking under a swing of the beast’s hands, the boy weaved in between its legs, but not without tearing through them.

Springing back to his feet, he leaped toward its head and imdiately bashed the hilt of his weapons into the beast’s skull, causing a deep crack to split open.

The golem staggered forward in pain.

But with sheer grit, it swung its massive hand backward in a backhanded strike.

The boy was no longer there; he had already slid under the strike, getting in front of the beast within a flash.

He vaulted forward faster than the golem could react and imdiately thrust his swords into the singular eye with blazing speed, causing the giant to crumple to the ground easily.

Felix blinked.

A stunned look rested on his face.

’He made it look so easy. How the hell did he do that?’

Refocusing back to reality, the werewolf replayed the fight again fra by fra as sothing doubtful crept into his thoughts.

’... Wait! Why did it seem like he was able to match the beast speed for speed? It seed like he had the quickness of an advanced ranked beast too. Is he a... NAH! Probably he has the ability of superspeed.’

Turning to face the werewolf, the boy tilted his head while looking at him over and over for a few seconds.

’Without the watch, I’m having a hard ti figuring out whether he is soone I should worry about or not. Sigh... let’s just be nice, I guess. If he can take down an Advanced ranked beast alone, he must be strong enough.’

Walking over, the boy’s piercing green eyes settled on Felix, who had now risen to his feet.

"Seems you are quite strong eh, I like that," the boy began with a friendly smile on his face.

’Who the hell starts a conversation like that? Are humans so weird?’

"Anyway, the na is Caster. Nice to et you," the boy said with a grin as he held out his hand.

Felix stared at the boy’s green eyes for a mont before shrugging indifferently.

"Felix. Thanks for the help," the werewolf replied as he firmly shook the boy’s outstretched hand.

After a few monts of silence, Caster glanced around the landscape to see the nurous amount of beasts still battling with the desperate Aspirants.

They were losing, and fast.

While the casualties among the Aspirants weren’t imnse yet, every student was visibly bleeding.

They looked weary and exhausted, as if they were on the very brink of collapse.

The golems were still plentiful.

Out of the hundred-plus from earlier, their numbers had only just reached the threshold of fifty.

Even with that thorough cut down, it seed as if the Aspirants hadn’t done a thing, and now, they were growing increasingly weary.

Their strikes were becoming sloppier.

The weaker ta-humans were losing their ta-force at a crazy speed, and in no ti, they would likely get killed.

After all, not everyone was strong enough to defeat an Advanced ranked beast.

Without saying a word more, Caster turned away from Felix and bolted back into the fray to aid those who were struggling and help reduce the tally of enemies they were facing.

But deep down, he knew; if sothing didn’t change anyti soon, they would be dood.

***

A grunt. A leap backward.

Then, a silver-haired boy darted forward with a pair of gauntlets on his hands.

Leaping forth, he swung his arms and ten precise claw strikes burst out from the gauntlets, smashing into the beast’s raised guard.

They dug deep, tearing jagged chunks of rock from its defensive posture.

Not letting up, the boy landed back on the earth.

Lightning crackled around his feet and with an explosive bang, he reached the beast faster than it could react.

With the montum of the speed aiding him, his fist cut through the air, crashing into the golem’s arms with a thunderous bang that shook the entire area.

Fissures snaked through the ground as deep cracks spider-webbed across the beast’s limbs.

The sheer force of the punch sent the creature sliding uncontrollably backward, its hands flailing helplessly at its sides.

"Van!" Ray shouted as he glared at the beast.

A chanical whirring sound was heard as Van’s eyes flashed blue for a mont.

A small glow appeared around his encased hand and then—

Booom—!

A bright beam burst out from his palms with blazing speed.

It tore through the beast’s eye, reducing the core to a dusty pulp and leaving the socket hollow.

A second later, the creature crumpled to the ground in a pile of inert rocks.

Ray panted mildly as a satisfied smile flashed across his face.

Within the past five minutes of his sudden epiphany, they had managed to defeat five... and with this one, that made six beasts so far.

This ant they had six beast cores in their possession, which could help in significantly increasing their ta-force pool.

How incredible was this?

It was a grinding ground where they could actually grow stronger.

’... What could even go wrong at this point?’ he chuckled inwardly with a dark, greedy glee, not realizing how grave the situation was about to beco.
