Old He’s heart was filled with a vague sense of worry. The relationship between Mr. Leng and Miss Lin had only just started to smooth out, and now Miss Mu’s sudden appearance might ss things up.
Despite his worries, he was just a servant. Matters of the master’s house were not for him to intervene. He was just a driver—whatever Leng Yixiu said, he would follow as ordered.
"It’s none of your business here anymore, you can leave now," the man said lightly.
"Sir, will you not need for transport later?"
"No."
With that, the man stepped toward the private room.
"You’re here!"
As soon as Mu Wan saw Leng Yixiu, her delicate face instantly blood into a smile, and in the next mont, she made a surprising move.
She stood up from the table and gave Leng Yixiu a big hug right in front of him.
Leng Yixiu frowned tightly, his eyes cold, "Let go."
Mu Wan sensed the change in atmosphere and quickly released him, stepping back and glaring at Leng Yixiu, grumbling, "You’re really heartless. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have co to T City."
"What business do you have in T City?"
Mu Wan’s eyes shifted before she sat back down, murmuring leisurely, "I ca because I missed you."
"..."
"What, don’t you miss ?"
The man’s eyes turned cold, "Young lady, speak with more discretion."
Mu Wan was a bit annoyed, "Hmph, you really have no conscience. When I go back, I’ll definitely tell Dad on you."
When Mu Wan ntioned her father, Leng Yixiu’s gaze softened a bit, "How are Teacher and Mrs. Mu?"
"They’re doing great; they can still chase with a clothes hanger. What problems could they have?" Mu Wan picked up a piece of dragon fruit from the table and began to eat it casually.
"What’s your real purpose in coming to T City? Don’t try to brush off with nonsense."
Mu Wan tossed away the dragon fruit peel and sighed, "You see through everything. Well, I’ll be honest with you—I’m here to escape an arranged marriage."
As she spoke, Mu Wan lowered her voice, fearing others might hear.
"Escape an arranged marriage?"
"That’s right. Dad and Mom want to marry one of their prized students, but he’s so dull and boring. I’m not marrying him."
"I trust Teacher and Mrs. Mu’s judgnt."
"Wow, you’re siding with them too. I ca all the way here thinking I’d attend your wedding."
The man frowned slightly, "It’s better you don’t show up at my wedding."
Leng Yixiu knew his junior well—she was a troublemaker who thrived on chaos. He didn’t want his well-planned wedding to be ruined by her.
"How could that be? You’re my senior, I must attend your wedding."
Leng Yixiu didn’t bother to respond, directly retrieved the nu from the waiter, and handed it to Mu Wan, "Hungry?"
"You’re changing the subject."
"If you’re not hungry, I’ll leave."
Seeing the man about to leave, Mu Wan hurriedly stopped him, "No, you can’t treat a guest like this. Fine, I’ll order."
Mu Wan took the pen, eyes fixed on the nu, smiling, "It’s been years since I tasted your food. Now that you’re a big boss, you ought to treat extravagantly."
Leng Yixiu faintly curled his lips, "Order whatever you like."
"Rich people are really different. Since you’re helping with everything, why not cover my lodging as well? You’re not short of money anyway."
The man looked at her expressionlessly, then handed her a golden card, reminding her in a deep voice, "Go ho early, otherwise Teacher and Mrs. Mu will worry about you."
