When Shirakawa Sawahei woke up in the morning, the figure of Tsukimi sakurazawa had disappeared from the bedside.

Shirakawa Sawahei was stunned for a while, then got up to tidy his bed. The long-legged cute girl’s side seed to have woken up early, as the quilt was neatly folded at the head of the bed, though he didn’t know when it happened.

His biological clock is considered to be of the fairly early type, but sohow the girl woke up even earlier than he did, which left Shirakawa Sawahei slightly taken aback.

Turns out not all girls are like Ise Yu who laze around and refuse to get out of bed until the alarm sounds at the deadline.

Shirakawa Sawahei tried calling out, realizing no one responded in the room. He walked outside to take a look, and noticed that the sofa cushions Tsukimi sakurazawa had ssed up yesterday were already arranged neatly. The room had been tidied up as well, including the takeaway fast food packaging they ate last night, all of which had disappeared.

A simple breakfast was left on the dining table, with a sticky note on top, displaying Tsukimi sakurazawa’s familiar neat handwriting in front of his eyes.

[I’m off to catch the first train of the morning. Breakfast is made, don’t bla for simple ingredients. Don’t get too emotional~]

[ps: Shirakawa, you look so proper while sleeping, not moving at all. I took a picture. Do you want to see it~]

Shirakawa Sawahei instantly had black lines all over his head, realizing she woke up that early just for a prank.

And here I was just starting to change my impression of you a bit!

However, the breakfast she made wasn’t bad. It must have been tough for her to make sothing tasty with the limited ingredients in my fridge.

After washing up and having breakfast, Shirakawa Sawahei was about to head out. At this hour, Ise Yu Yuzhijin typically wouldn’t be awake, but it didn’t matter—if she wasn’t, then wake her up.

Under the relentless phone bombardnt of Shirakawa Sawahei, Ise Yu Yuzhijin ca out of her house with a piece of bread in her mouth, her hair ssily sticking out.

The girl’s eyes were vacant, as if she hadn’t fully woken up from a good morning dream.

"Shirakawa... why are you here so early today..." Ise Yu Yuzhijin said blankly, "Am I still dreaming?"

Shirakawa Sawahei stared at her strand of ssy hair for a while, feeling it was a bit of an eyesore. He smoothed it out with a hand, saying casually, "Today’s a day worth celebrating."

"Important day... but my birthday is clearly tomorrow."

Shirakawa Sawahei was montarily surprised, "Miss Hinata already told you?"

"Yeah, she ntioned it yesterday...," Ise Yu Yuzhijin suddenly beca alert, "Shirakawa, just tell ahead, is Sister Yin planning sothing weird again?"

"Is it going to be one of those feast-of-doom-like birthday parties? She actually told the ti and place this year, so I’m a bit nervous..."

"It’s not that." Shirakawa thought the dinner with Hayakawa Kashi was more of a feast of doom.

"Really not? Shirakawa, I trust you the most, you can’t lie to ."

The slacker girl skillfully played the emotional card, attempting to enlist Shirakawa Sawahei as a mole to infiltrate the enemy

Shirakawa Sawahei: Heh, won.

You trust the most? Trust to draw my character into a doujinshi? You think I’ll believe your bullshit?

Tomorrow night at the party, I’ll show you what cruelty really ans.

"Well, if it’s not the birthday then..." Ise Yu Yuzhijin couldn’t glean anything from Shirakawa Sawahei’s deanor, so she asked, "What day is it today then?"

Shirakawa Sawahei patted the girl’s head, smiling, "Today?"

"Today is midterm results day."

Ise Yu Yuzhijin: "???"

...

The two arrived at school, and a crowd of students was already gathered at the results board. Although so schools hand out small slips to inform students of their scores for self-esteem reasons, Akihisa High School clearly isn’t one of those schools.

To promote a competitive atmosphere, they wished they could bold the rankings tenfold, leaving underachievers too ashad to scrape by and forcing top students to reach higher, ensuring the entire school thrives.

"Oh wow, I was lucky this ti, barely managed a small improvent."

Hehe, the classic ’lucky’ scholarly act.

"Darn it, my luck was bad this ti, just barely missed passing!"

Hehe, the classic ’unlucky’ slacker.

Upon his arrival at school, both slackers and studious students felt the superior scholarly aura of Shirakawa Sawahei, instinctively drawing a sharp breath and making way for him to see the announcent board.

The crowd parted like the tide, and the previously chattering noise faded into silence, watching silently as the man who dominated Akihisa High School’s rankings, as if conveying their respect in quietude.

Ise Yu Yuzhijin nervously followed Shirakawa Sawahei to the board, glanced over, and was startled to find her ranking had improved significantly from the last ti. She patted her chest with relief.

Thank goodness, if I hadn’t improved, Shirakawa would have sacrificed to the heavens.

Now, where is Shirakawa’s na?

Ise Yu Yuzhijin started counting up from the twentieth place.

Heard Shirakawa finished one exam in ten minutes, so his ranking must have dropped a lot.

As a considerate pretty girl friend, it’s the right ti for to comfort him now.

Nineteenth place, not there... Eighteenth place... Seventeenth place... not there either.

Of course, even a starved cal is bigger than a horse—no matter how much Shirakawa finished early, he couldn’t have fallen that far behind.

Got to start counting from the top ten...

The cute little Ise was counting on her fingers upwards and, just as she reached the sixth place, Shirakawa Sawahei was pulling her away, ready to leave.

"Ti to go."

"Eh...? Shirakawa, you’re not checking your score?"

"Already did, first place."

"???"

Ise Yu quickly scanned to the head of the list, suddenly finding Asano Nazuki’s na at the end of that column of data, marked with a number: 2.

And Shirakawa Sawahei’s na was exaggeratedly bolded with special effects, at the top of the list.

Goddamn, bold and pinned! Do you think you’re a forum admin?

"What the heck, weren’t you... one exam..." Ise Yu stamred, pointing at Shirakawa Sawahei.

"Yes." Shirakawa said quite naturally, "So the gap between my score and second place widened by only a few dozens."

Pei! Show-off dog!

Everyone present simultaneously had this thought, along with a rising sense of helplessness.

How can this guy be so strong... There used to be Lord Kaori closely chasing him, but now everyone’s fallen beneath him—who else can stop Demon King Shirakawa from dominating Akihisa?

However, speaking of Asano Nazuki, who is she? Never heard of such a top student, perhaps a transfer?

This ti, apparently because Shirakawa Sawahei’s score was much too high above second place, the school gave him an all-school pin. This gesture left Shirakawa sowhat speechless. Even though, on the surface, they said he finished early, in reality, he had finished half of it.

Why does everyone assu I handed in that one test early with a zero score? Isn’t ten minutes enough to finish half a test?

He no longer paid attention to the list, pulling the bewildered Ise Yu out of the crowd. Hayakawa Kashi should be arriving at school soon, Shirakawa decided to check on her later when class ends.

Let’s hope Miss Kaori doesn’t get too upset over losing the second-place throne.

However, Shirakawa clearly did not expect that the one harboring the most resentnt from this exam was not Hayakawa Kashi.

It was Asano Nazuki.
