Fu Jinghen’s words completely pleased Wen Qiao; she cradled his face and kissed him several tis. She almost seduced him into pouncing on her.
If Qi Ming hadn’t called to invite them to dinner, breaking the ambiguous entanglent between them, Fu Jinghen might have really lost control.
His self-control, which he took pride in, was worthless in front of Wen Qiao.
Wen Qiao was quite proud of this.
While Fu Jinghen was on the phone with Qi Ming, Wen Qiao nestled in his arms, playing with his hand, pinching each finger in turn before finally biting one of them, leaving a faint tooth mark on the man’s finger.
Fu Jinghen glanced down at the mischievous girl and said to Qi Ming on the other end of the line, "Ah Ming is calling us to dinner together. Should we go?"
Wen Qiao, rembering the invitees for the Jinhua Award ceremony, softly asked Fu Jinghen, "Is Wen Shu also here?"
"Yes, she is."
Wen Qiao nodded, "Tell him, we’ll go."
Hearing Wen Qiao’s response, Qi Ming said on the other end, "Then we’ll et at the elevator in ten minutes?"
"Make it twenty minutes. Your Little Aunt needs to get ready," Fu Jinghen said.
Qi Ming replied, "Alright then."
After hanging up, Wen Qiao asked, "Are they also staying in this hotel?"
Fu Jinghen gave an affirmative "Hmm". "Ah Ming knew I was coming to see you today, so he flew over on the sa flight. They didn’t bother finding another hotel, so they followed here."
"Oh, I see." Wen Qiao’s eyes wandered before settling back on Fu Jinghen. "I want to ask you sothing, and you have to answer truthfully."
"Ask."
"Did you ever feel a flicker of attraction for Wen Shu as your lifesaver?"
Now asking Fu Jinghen this question didn’t an much, Wen Qiao could feel how much he loved her.
But won always have an inclination to overthink in love. Having read the original story, Wen Qiao knew all too well the initial connection between Fu Jinghen and Wen Shu.
Though her arrival had deviated everything from the original plot, this one detail still pricked at Wen Qiao’s heart.
It wasn’t painful or itchy, and she hardly noticed it usually, but the dream she had that day made her realize how much it bothered her and how scared she was.
After all, everyone wants to be the only one in their lover’s heart.
"Why should I have feelings for her just because she saved ?" Fu Jinghen didn’t understand the connection between the two, furrowing his brow, "What nonsense are you thinking about now?"
"So people said I resemble her, and I was thinking if you like , maybe you’d have feelings for her too..." Wen Qiao’s voice trailed off, growing weaker, as she saw Fu Jinghen’s increasingly dark expression. She nodded, loosening her grip around his neck, whispering, "Why are you looking at so fiercely?"
"I really want to pry open your head and see what kinds of ss are inside," Fu Jinghen’s temples throbbed as he flicked her forehead. "I like you, love you because you are you, completely unrelated to anyone else, and moreover—"
Fu Jinghen cradled Wen Qiao’s chin, ticulously examining her face: "Who says you look alike? My baby is obviously prettier."
