"You know this is cheating, right?" Jinghen’s eyes mirrored her sprightly little face. After a mont of silence, he asked, "Will that cost points?"

"What do you think?" Wen Qiao kicked the ball to him.

Jinghen sincerely inquired, "Can sacrificing my good looks make up for it?"

"..."

Is this even human language!

"No!"

"So, what should I do?"

Jinghen appeared genuinely troubled.

Wen Qiao put on an indifferent facade and looked at him, "Figure it out yourself."

No sooner had she spoken than she felt a moist sensation on her lips.

Unlike the brief contact before, Jinghen lingered on her lips for a mont, withdrawing a second before Wen Qiao could react.

Wen Qiao’s eyes went round.

"I think no matter how I try to make up for it, I won’t regain that point. Might as well get my money’s worth of tofu in one go."

"..."

Suddenly, Wen Qiao rembered the first ti Fu Jinghen had said he would pursue her, the scene of him driving behind her car on the way to the airport. What were his words again?

Oh, she rembered.

Fu Jinghen had said, "How can you catch the one you like if you don’t thicken your skin a bit."

Now, she felt that it wasn’t that Fu Jinghen had thick skin; he was shaless.

And he was becoming more and more audacious on this path.

-

Is seduction with beauty okay? Is it? Is i— The next day at noon, before Wen Qiao had even opened her eyes, that sentence echoed automatically in her brain.

No, it would be more accurate to say that since Fu Jinghen had uttered those words last night, they had circled in her mind incessantly like a demonic chant.

Oh God, Fu Jinghen was her nesis.

The Waterloo in her otherwise smooth-sailing life.

The male fairy trying to seduce her on her journey to the Western Heavens.

Wen Qiao rolled several tis wrapped in the blanket, then sat up.

Her long hair was in a ss from her rolling. She ran her hands through it, took a deep breath, kicked off the blanket, and climbed out of bed.

Her phone rang at just the right mont. Wen Qiao answered, her tone unfriendly with a curt "Hello."

But her sour mood seed to have no effect on the cheery disposition of the person on the other end.

Fu Jinghen’s amusent was evident, "Up and at ’em?"

"..."

Wen Qiao looked around the room. Had he installed caras in her place?

How else could it be that the mont she woke, his call ca through?

As soon as this thought settled, Fu Jinghen, as if sensing her suspicion, said, "I guessed."

"Wow." Wen Qiao kept her face and voice cold, "You’re good at guessing, huh."

Fu Jinghen knew exactly what Wen Qiao was being snappy about, and her tone didn’t faze him one bit, "I checked Weibo this morning and saw you were online at two in the morning. So I knew you wouldn’t be waking up early today."

Fu Jinghen was obviously not oblivious to how much Wen Qiao loved to linger in bed.

Searching for traces of a loved one on social dia, the last ti Wen Qiao had heard of that, she was still in school.

Love in adulthood was often about reciprocal probing and maintaining a sense of mystery, with fleeting, material desires prevalent. It was rare for soone to actually spend their precious ti to genuinely notice and understand another person.

A man like Fu Jinghen’s ti was incredibly valuable, yet he was willing to waste it on her, adopting the simplest ways to let her feel his attention and concern.

This realization made that bit of petulance fade from Wen Qiao’s heart. Her tone softened as she humd, "Who allowed you to follow my Weibo?"
