Wen Qiao thought to herself, "That’s more like it."
But before she could co up with another topic, the driver stepped on the brakes, bringing the car to a stop, and said, "President Fu, we’ve... arrived."
"Mmm," Fu Jinghen responded as he opened the car door to get out. Wen Qiao unbuckled her seatbelt and smiled at the driver, "Thank you, driver."
Lin Luang also quickly followed and thanked the driver.
"No need for thanks, not at all, it’s my duty."
They had tid their arrival at the airport to perfection, completing the check-in process just in ti for Lin Luang to head for the security check and boarding.
"This is as far as we go, big sis," Lin Luang said.
"Alright," Wen Qiao raised the brim of her hat slightly as she looked at Lin Luang. "Directly ssage once you’ve landed to let know you’re safe."
Lin Luang obediently nodded, "Alright, I got it."
He turned towards Fu Jinghen, who was standing behind Wen Qiao, "Goodbye, President Fu."
Fu Jinghen simply gave him a nod in response.
With that, Lin Luang leaned over to Wen Qiao and whispered in her ear, "Big sis, I think your boss seems a bit odd."
Wen Qiao tensed up. Kids nowadays matured so early; could this little guy have noticed sothing?
"Is that so?" Wen Qiao asked with composure, matching his whisper, "Rich people are a bit odd, aren’t they? What do you think?"
"Really?" Lin Luang scratched his head, "But I think I’m pretty normal."
"..."
Wen Qiao was taken aback for a mont before she caught the implication in Lin Luang’s words.
She chuckled at Lin Luang’s straightforwardness, "What, are you a little rich second generation too?"
"Sowhat," Lin Luang chuckled sheepishly, "Taking care of my big sis wouldn’t be a problem."
"But big sis can be quite spendy, not so easy to provide for."
Lin Luang furrowed his brows, appearing to struggle a bit, "How expensive?"
"Just kidding."
Seeing Lin Luang genuinely taken aback by her words, Wen Qiao’s smile deepened. At that mont, the boarding announcent sounded, and she patted Lin Luang’s arm, "Go on, get through security and text after you land."
"Okay."
Watching Lin Luang walk into the security checkpoint, Wen Qiao finally withdrew her gaze. As she turned around, she was t with Fu Jinghen’s intensely irritated look.
Wen Qiao lifted her chin, "What are you looking at?"
"You two seed to be having a great ti talking."
Wen Qiao raised a finger and waggled it playfully, "Not just ’a great ti,’ but a super great ti."
As Wen Qiao walked ahead, Fu Jinghen followed her pace, "Oh, well, as long as you’re happy."
Wen Qiao gave Fu Jinghen a side glance but didn’t continue the conversation. Instead, she silently started counting in her head.
By the ti she reached five, the person beside her couldn’t contain himself and spoke up again.
"So, what were you whispering about just now?"
Wen Qiao curved her lips slightly, "Nothing much; just my little brother saying—"
She intentionally paused, keeping Fu Jinghen on tenterhooks.
Observing Fu Jinghen’s brows furrow deeper and his reluctance to press her for an answer, she felt the displeasure from the car ride dispel quite a bit.
"My little brother said his family is quite wealthy; supporting soone like wouldn’t be an issue."
Fu Jinghen looked down and saw the small woman in front of him, her eyes curved into crescents and her voice brimming with bragging rights. The frown on his face suddenly relaxed into a casual expression.
Wen Qiao had expected to see Fu Jinghen agitated and filled with a sense of crisis, but she hadn’t anticipated this reaction.
Wen Qiao tugged at his sleeve, "What are you laughing at?"
