As the dark aura was about to envelop her, the scene before her eyes flickered, transporting her into a bustling marketplace, where people of all shapes and colors brushed past her, casting mocking glances and muttering things that she couldn’t make out at all.

She noticed soone gossiping about her while pointing at her arms.

Following the direction of the pointing finger, she looked down and discovered, to her surprise, that she was holding a plump rooster.

Just then, the rooster also raised its neck, and Wen Qiao saw its brightly colored comb rapidly approaching her. On instinct, she closed her eyes as the beak was about to peck her, when suddenly, the rooster stopped and erupted into a deafening crow.

Terrified, Wen Qiao imdiately let go, flinging the rooster away, but unexpectedly, she found a thin rope tied around her wrist at so point, with the other end attached to the chicken’s claws. The chicken, possessing more strength than she, dragged her forward.

Wen Qiao scread, flailing her arms chaotically.

Then, she woke up.

The mont she opened her eyes, she also sat up in bed.

For soone like Wen Qiao, who always struggled to get out of bed and typically needed to wrestle herself awake for half an hour every morning—

Despite having fallen asleep lying down the night before, waking up this morning in a sitting position left her mind briefly blank.

She cupped her face in her palms, her eyes returning to the darkness, the strange dream resurfacing in her mind.

Then, to her shock, she realized that the crowing from her dream was still echoing in her ears.

Could that dream have left her with so scientifically inexplicable, bizarre after-effect?

She abruptly lifted her head, carefully identifying the continuous crowing sounds flooding her ears.

Then, flinging off the covers, she got out of bed and forcefully opened the door.

As expected, she saw two staff mbers in the small living room upstairs, standing back to back, each holding a gaphone in one hand and a cellphone in the other, with the cellphone pressed against the gaphone.

From the gaphone issued a loud, incessant loop of rooster crowing.

Alright.

She had found the reason for the rooster’s appearance in her dream.

Wen Qiao clenched her fists and, seething with anger, marched forward, snatching the gaphone from one of the female staff mbers and turning it off.

The female staff mber removed her eye mask, montarily dazzled by the light, squinting uncomfortably. When she clearly saw Wen Qiao’s furious face, she timidly raised her hand and waved, "Hi... good morning."

Hearing this, the male staff mber behind her also took off his eye mask and turned to look at her.

Seeing the woman’s round face turning up a pitiful look, Wen Qiao’s fists relaxed, and her fury dissipated sowhat, "I’m not good."

Wen Qiao had a rather aggressive appearance; when she was genuinely angry, all that showed in her expression was aloofness and coldness, her presence exuding a chilly and stern aura.

The female staff mber, a university freshman working a sumr job, was sowhat frightened by Wen Qiao’s expression: "I was forced to do this; Director Li asked us to co up and wake you all, please don’t be angry."

As she spoke, her fingertips lightly touched the back of Wen Qiao’s hand.

Wen Qiao took a deep breath and silently repeated to herself three tis—

After the show was finished, she needed to stuff Director Li into a sack and drag him into a narrow alley to beat him up.
