After saying that, Wen Qiao dashed off like a wisp of smoke.
Jiang Yao looked at the still-bright sky outside the window and fell silent.
The sun had just set, and it was still hours till dark. Her house wasn’t on the other side of the Earth, and even if she rode a bicycle, she’d make it ho before dark!
Ye Shengnan looked at Jiang Yao, who had an expression that was a mix of awkwardness and despair, and smiled with a curved lip, "Being her manager must be quite troubleso, huh?"
Jiang Yao was still lost in thoughts of flipping Wen Qiao over and beating her up until she kneeled and called her ’dad’. Without thinking, she blurted out, "No, I’m not her manager, I’m her dad!"
She bit off the last two words and only realized what she had said after a second or two.
She stuttered in explanation, "No no no, I didn’t an that, it really is quite troubleso."
Ye Shengnan looked at her blushing cheeks, his smile growing wider, very considerately changing the subject, "Let’s go, I’ll take you ho."
"Th-thanks," stamred Jiang Yao, her steps unsteady as she followed him, srized by the smile at the corner of his mouth.
"It’s no trouble at all."
Jiang Yao felt even more flustered.
Wuwuwu, Emperor Ye looks so good when he smiles!

The black nanny van traveled down the asphalt road, the greenery on either side retreating swiftly.
Wen Qiao and Jiang Wei sat in the second row, a narrow aisle between them.
Jiang Wei shifted her gaze from the window to Wen Qiao. "Qiaoqiao, everyone thought you fancied Qi Ming. How co you ended up agreeing to get engaged to Brother Jinghen?"
Wen Qiao was looking down at her text conversation with Fu Jinghen. An hour ago, she had ssaged Fu Jinghen that she would co to him after finishing, asking for his cooperation in sothing, but like a stone sinking into the ocean, there had been no reply.
Caught off guard by Jiang Wei’s question, she didn’t quite catch on, "Huh?"
"Don’t get wrong, I’m just curious," Jiang Wei hurriedly explained innocently. "If it’s inconvenient for you to say, that’s okay too."
"It’s nothing inconvenient," Wen Qiao looked at Jiang Wei with a beaming smile, wondering what sort of flavor this green tea would brew, "Because Fu Jinghen treats well, loves to death and back. Don’t let his high and mighty act fool you. He’s actually been secretly in love with for a very long ti but was too shy to say it."
Although Jiang Wei knew Wen Qiao might be lying, a wave of anger still surged in her heart. She clenched her fists, her fingernails digging into her palms, the pain helping to calm her a bit.
"I rember before getting engaged, you didn’t seem to know Brother Jinghen well, nor his likes and dislikes, right?"
"Indeed, I don’t know them."
"Then let tell you so of what I know, in case you accidentally tread on his landmines later." Jiang Wei’s expression turned sowhat smug as she started to list Fu Jinghen’s preferences, counting on her fingers, "Brother Jinghen has a habit of morning runs. He gets up at six in the morning, jogs around the Fu Mansion for an hour. If it’s raining, he changes to the gym, and by eight he’s at FS."
As Wen Qiao listened, she tapped away at her conversation box with Fu Jinghen.
[Oh my, you even run in the morning. Getting up at six? Are you even human? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you’ve replaced the rooster on its perch, needed to crow on ti.]
